Jagus Kumkani
I have some Rhinos and a Razorback I need to paint. I know its easier to paint these large models with a spray gun but I don't have one so my question is, are there any tips and tricks to painting these things with brushes? Anything I should take into special consideration? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326472-painting-vehicles/ Share on other sites
CommodusXIII
I'd recommend a color-matched set of primer and touch-up acrylic paint, like Army Painter's line. AndrewChristlieb
+1 on the spray primer and touch up paints. Plus a lot of hobby paints have highlights and shades which work with them and might make it a little simpler to get started. Fortis
This article helped me when doing some Rhinos, although my painting skills weren't good enough to prevent some streakage Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326472-painting-vehicles/#findComment-4520025 Share on other sites
Vykryl
I saw a nifty gizmo at my local hardware store last time I went in. Was a can of propellant, jar, thining guide so you could turn any paint into spray paint. Think the price was about $10. It's an idea for sprraying without an actual air gun and compressor. NovemberIX
I actually just spent the weekend painting up some Rhinos using a brush (because I didn't want to lug my airbrush upstairs) so I'm pretty fresh. Keep your paints thin with good thinner and a drop of flow-aid (abouts the thickness of milk is my preference), give it multiple layers, let the layers dry before recoating, and as it starts to build up vary your strokes (so you don't end up with a grain).
