"New" veteran tactics

Lightning Claw Terminators are fun with Blood Angels atleast. Saw a ZM match in which squad of termies ripped through two Iron Circle monsters with their 5+ rerollable wounding.

I've been pondering about using Termies in my HotG list but I'd rather back up two Vets with combi-something in a Rhino instead of them and use Termies as a Command Squad for Autek Mor.

What I need currently is dedication for painting 3000+ points of black&white ceramite.

In my experience, one in 5 with twin lightning claws or some with combi weapon/LC (SoH or other legions that have shenanigans) is a wise idea. It's embarrassing when you charge a 20 man tactical squad and have them poke you to death with their bolters before your entire squad even gets to hit, granted I killed 5 of them with my praetor, but I'm still salty that 5 terminators died to non cow tacticals....
Agree about the lightning claws. If you're specifically hunting MEQ a single claw isn't a bad way to go due to your 2+. If you're going after anything else you want fists. The only trap option are the dual claws- you're better off buying another terminator and giving him a claw.

See, while potentially suboptimal, besides looking BALLER LC terms work as a fantastic unit to hunt a load of expensive power armoured vet units or tactical blobs. Or even the likes of rapiers etc. That shred means they pump out consistent wounds.

They do this a lot better than Veterans and also serve as an incredible counter to most veterans (though gotta be wary of those sniping flamers overwatch).

Eh, but do you really need terminators to kill these targets?  You can't win vs the tacticals anyway, because if someone is bothering with a blob, they will have a chaplain and CCWs. They will win through sheer volume. Just shoot them!

As for Rapiers, it doesn't really matter what you hit them with, fists or lightning claws will kill them as readily. They are 6 Ld8 dudes.
