Hey malchy, quick question - which Contemptor did you use as a base?

Not malcharion, but I can definitely say the torso is from the Death Guard Contemptor (mainly because I've looked at it several times contemplating purchasing it ).

The legs look like they might be from a regular Contemptor?

Looking great, but why are Volkites green or blue when I look at pictures?

Isn't the read beam in the following picture a volkite beam?

We all know Volkite doesn't have a beam. It's a ray and they go CHOOM.

So .. Nobody ? Too bad ^^

After the african knight project I wanted more of this vibes and it leave me with a feeling of "unfinished" .. I wanted to make more than a simple knight without history. So I start working on a background for a full House. The new codex will bring a lot of new toys and my background is almost finished.

It is time for me to share it with you. Also a famous french blog (the Blog dé Kouzes) is lunching a contest on the Warband theme. I was looking for something original to built when I get the idea of creating a knight pilot for my house along with his ceremonial escort. If I can I will play theme in necromunda if the Warband end well :)

So I hope you'll enjoy the rise of the house Joolan and help me in this quest.

I'll need your idea to improve my work on the story as well as your constructif feedback on the models !

House Joolan

Homeworld :

Cayor

Placed in the segmentum Obscurus, Cayor is discovered by the Rogue trader Axelo Nebrius.

The riche amount of mineral ressources, the oxygene level and atmosphere so alike to Terra make Cayor a perfect match for humain colonisation.

That's why a few decades after the planet have been found, a colonial fleet came from Northafrika after a short passage on the Indra-sul space-port and first set foot on Cayor.

The planet is cut in two. The north hemisphere is covert in red sands when the south hemispher is a vegetal kingdom of jungle and mangroves ruled by a mega-fauna as riche as deadly.

*History :

The main colonies took roots around the bigger adamantium veins.

But due to the local fauna making dificult the exploitation of those veins, the presence of Knight guarding the edge of the jungle is soon proved necessary.

The long night :

The warp storms breaks through the galaxy, making impossible all contact between Cayor and the closest planetes of his wide star system. The Cayorian during all this time of isolation ended up regressing. The impossibility of exporting causing the mining work to be trade for agriculture and hunt by necessity. The earth being more fertil on the edge of the forest, the Cayorian were forced to move closer to those area of constant dangers. Counting on the Knight protection.

Kingdoms starts to emerge around the différents bastions ruled by différents knight houses on the simingly without end forest edge. Wars for ressources, rivarlry and endless strugle with the assault from the forest dangers see the evolution of the Cayorian culture toward animism and a more tribal aspect in link with the green realm that rule their life.

Then came the time of death and despare.. Then came the Khraves..

.. stay tuned. .

And here is the first models of the "Warband" :

The pilot Ciedho Djogë of the house Joolan as he appear at the ritual trial of the Obsidian crown. The election of the new master of the house.

This is just fabulous....

LOVE those guys. Especially the second to last one, with the GIANT skull mask. So characterful!

If I could make one suggestion: for the Ogryn's right-anded weapon either get a smaller hand or a thicker staff, because right now at the current thickness he looks like he could break that staff in to by squeezing too hard :D :tu:

Oh, now these are cool.

However:

If I could make one suggestion: for the Ogryn's right-anded weapon either get a smaller hand or a thicker staff, because right now at the current thickness he looks like he could break that staff in to by squeezing too hard :D :tu:

I'm in agreement. Get that Ogryn a thicker shaft for his staff, because that looks very piddly for someone of his size  I think there's brass tubing that's around the right size?

Thank you all !! Really cool you like them so far !

@Hushrong : Thanks man !

@Augustus : Cheers dude :happy.: ! Of course you could ! Yes I see what you mean, I strugle to find a hand that fit the size of the guys but I found none. I try the Aos Orks hands, and ogre kingdom hand --> too small and the other I had on my bitz box was the warhammer plastic giant hand but it look really big... If you have a matching thing in head I'll love to change the entire hand. When I look at it, it give a feeling of ridiculously disproportionate that I kind of like for the Ogryn. But you're right. I think I'll take the Gederas way and looking for a brass tubing in the right size for the haft.

@Sagentus : Damn budy :/ , I've upload them from my phone because I've no computer at the moment. When I could I'll apload them again from a real computer, but I don't understand I can see theme by conecting on differents support ..

@Gederas : Thanks a lot ! Same as Augustus, I'll change that with a brass haft

(Where do you get yours ?)

In the meantime I'll start painting the rest of the team. starting by the simpliest : the shieldmans so that you are free to give other advices on the rest of the team :smile.:

What do you think of the fact that Samba Ndiaye have a stump as right hand ? I thought it add to the character history .. The old tribal priest with one hand ..
