PRECISION STRIKING EXORCISTS

My project this coming year will be blobs of sisters with precision shot. It will be most glorious.

the immolator firepoint has been ratified as well. This will make it the prime transport for MSU if not choked for points imo

Doesnt look like we can board Valkyries however.

So unneeded moving of options from the wargear list to the unit entry it was.

Thankful but confused as to why the option was not just put in the wargear list with all limitations listed or removed from the list and added separately to Canonesses and Priests. But asking for consistency in this release seems to be pushing it.

All I need to know now is the point cost of Exorcists and if Celestians are still awful cost and rules wise.

Basically the only real changes to the army list:

St Celestine removed

Ecclesiarchy Battle Conclave removed

Sororitas Command Squad moved to the Elites section

New unit: Arco-Flagellants (Elite).  3 Arco-Flagellants for 30pts, can buy up to 7 more.  Rhino or Immolator as DT.

New unit: Crusaders (Elite).  2 Crusaders for 30pts, can buy up to 8 more.  Rhino or Immolator as DT

New unit: Death Cult Assassins (Elite).  2 DCA's for 30pts, can buy up to 8 more.  Rhin or immolator.

New detachment: Ministorum Delegation.  1 HQ (must be a Ministorum Priest) and 1 optional Elite, all units in the detachment gain Shield of Faith.

New detachment: Vestal Task Force.  1 HQ, 2 Troops, 1 Elite, optional 1 HQ, 4 Troops, 2 Elites, 3 Fast Attack, 3 Heavy Support.  Once per game all units can re-roll saving throws of 1 until the end of the turn.  Warlord can re-roll Walord Trait if Primary Detachment.

New formation: Ecclisarchy Battle Conclave.  1 Ministorum Priest or Uriah Jacobus.  3-10 units in any combination of Arco-flagellants, Crusaders or Death Cult Assassins.  All models in the Formation form a single unit, and all models get the Shield of Faith rule.

Immolator:  Gained a Fire Point on the top hatch (as per the draft FAQ).

Condemnor Boltgun:  Only requires you to hit an enemy unit with a Psyker to cause Perils (as per the draft FAQ)

Acts of Faith: They now last until the End of Turn, rather than End of Phase.

Exorcist: Exorcist Missile Launcher clarified to be a turret mounted weapon with a 360-degree arc of sight.

New Tactical Objectives:

* Slay the Heretic: Score 1 VP at the end of your turn if you killed any enemy characters during the turn

* Armour of Contempt: The next time one of your Adepta Sororitas makes a successful Shield of Faith save or Deny the Witch roll, immediately score 1 VP.

* Reclaim Lost Relic: Roll a D6 - Score 1 VP at the end of your turn if you control the objective that corresponds to the D6 result.

* Trust in the Emperor: Score 1 VP at the end of your turn if a unit with the Act of Faith rule destroys an enemy unit.  If the unit was under the effects of an Act of Faith, score D3 VPs instead.

* The Blood of Martyrs: Next time one of your Adepta Sororitas characters is slain, score 1 VP.  If the model as the Martyrdom rule, score D3 VPs instead.

* A Leap of Faith: Score 1 VP at the end of your turn if you pass at least 1 Act of Faith test during the turn.  If you pass 3, score D3 VPs instead.  If you pass 6 or more, score D3+3 VPs instead.

Ministorum priests still a slotless 1-5 option?

Also, the Seraphim getting shred until end of turn is a great incentive to use em over Dominions. Shred in shooting and shred in assault is a bucketfull of wounds.

Oops missed that - Priests are now a proper HQ choice

Can you confirm that Seraphim still have access to Infernus pistols?

This please. I made extensive use of the olde bitz ordering back in the day to make my own Inferno Pistol Seraphim models... I'll be mightily annoyed if they were invalidated! I mean, they were a pain in the bum to do for starters :P

If the list is of changes and Seras aren't mentioned I'd say that's a good indicator that they're still in :)

The TOs seem quite good, sometimes you get ones that are a bit situational but these are quite achievable. Admittedly some require you to lose a model, but chances are that would happen throughout the game anyway so why not gain from it?

Really want to get the book in my hands so I can do a review! :D

Based on what I am seeing though, Sororitas Command Squads might actually be able to use their act of faith properly if it lasts until the end of the turn like all the other stuff.

I like the malestorm objectives!

And I'm very pleased about the Evicerator thing.

And you're right Endless Crusade is much more useful now.

Priests being full HQs sucks, but whatever.

I look forward to receiving my copy!

(I might have to get the GW 2 pack of Death Cult Assassins to play them as Severina and Sevora Devout from the Inquisition specialist game)

Picked up the codex - Canoness can still take Eviscerators and Inferno Pistols so there is no need to worry about that.  Canoness Veridyan has a dataslate (85pts, comes with a Power Sword and a rule that grants Precision Shots/Precision Strikes to Sister units within 12").

Check my post in the News and Announcement thread for more details http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/328418-codex-imperial-agents/page-36?do=findComment&comment=4592338

my Exorcists just got a new friend....

Got my copy in my hands now.

Can you confirm that Seraphim still have access to Infernus pistols?

Yes they can.

surely the Battle Conclave formation must be a typo. RAW yeah sure 101 model blob, RAI 11 man unit.

Thanks mate, that is a heavy load off my mind.

This release has been so stressful with the back and forth of emotions. I think I'd have rather not known anything until the book came out unless I could have known everything like we did with the Traitor Legions review.

All this talk about precision shots made me go back and look up the weapon. Sadly now that I know the right rules, my exorcists just got a nerf..but the precision shots buffs them up again.

My group was convinced that the exorcist shot d6 small blasts. So I've been playing with them like that this entire time.

Holy Boltguns! Could you imagine D6 s8 ap1 small blasts!!!

Yes. It was amazing, but often highly inaccurate. That's why I never really questioned it. Most of the time I would get maybe 2 missiles and one would horridly wiff.
The first time i used them everyone awareness that as well, dire to darn of b war. Everyone also thought penitent engines were a lot scarier, which lead to them being focused like you would not believe

Holy Emperor! You found a stockpile of incindiary Exorcist ordinance from the Age of Apostasy?! :P
