I really like the red on your Techmarine, nice touch.

The Deredeo is looking really cool as well and I'm not a huge fan of the model normally, I think the combo of the missile launcher on top and the excellent weathering really sells it to me. Great stuff

Excellent, glad you like them! When it was first released I was pretty sure on the Deredeo's design, but after having them in person the Dreadboats have grown on me.

Good job on the Deredeo.

Cheers!

A tutorial on the eyes was requested via PM and I said I'd have it up today, so here it is -

The stages don't look all that distinct thanks to my phone camera, but still.

1. Paint the lens red.

2. wash the lens with a shade (I used brown to avoid it looking too dull).

3. Repaint lens middle red. Not much difference on the camera pic, but it does help it pop more.

4. Add white dots.

It's intended to be very simple and quick. It's definitely not like a gem and you could make it look better with a slight glow I'd reckon.

I also finished up the second Deredeo today for Loyalty and Treachery. Full steam ahead!

Not sure if I'll work on the Sicaran next or a Rhino. I may save the biggest tank till last to maximise the time I have for it. I'm not overly sure how a wash will do on the large flat surfaces. I'll probably have to make sure it doesn't pool and so on.

Two updates in a day?!

Spent a good chunk of my evening working on the first Rhino and as it turns out, finished it.

The grey sponging barely showed up in the above pic, so I had to result to phone flash on it's own to pick it up, which makes it appear even starker. Not the best, but at least you can see it's there.

That leaves me the second Rhino, Sicaran and Perturabo to go for Loyalty and Treachery. From the guidelines it seems like I'm a Centurion there now, so that's pretty nice.

Managed to garner some time tonight to paint up the second Rhino. It's not terribly exciting, but at least it's done.

With any luck some dozer blades will arrive relatively soon as that'll beef them up nicely. Down to 2 units to go for Loyalty and Treachery and I'm getting fairly close to having all the Iron Warriors I currently own done, which is pretty snazzy!

Been plugging away as best I can and got a whole lot of work done on Perturabo.

Epaulettes, Forgebreaker, cloth, wires and lenses left to paint for the most part, as well as an edge highlight on some of the armour for added definition. Also the jagged part of the guns before the barrels - anyone know what that's called?

Should get him finished later today which will be nice.

SWEET!!! Is that a contemptor helmet??

Yep, it's the Death Guard one, extended slightly so it'd be tall enough compared to the actual head.

Excellent work on the Primarch.

Thanks, I've now managed to finish him.

That's 5/6 units done in just over a week for Loyalty and Treachery which I'm pretty pleased with. Sicaran to go, though that's no doubt going to take longer since it's somewhat larger...

Finished up the Sicaran sans sponsons.

Edit: Replaced the images as I darkened the tracks after some feedback.

That completes my Loyalty and Treachery pledge overall, for now at least. Over the next couple of months I'll likely add new stuff as and when I get it as I intend to beef the force up with at least a couple more tanks so it's not just all marines and walkers.

Nice work, dude. Lots of productivity. I like Perty with a helmet, and you made the right choice in which one to use. Is it the picture or are Perty's hazard stripes really paler than those on the vehicles? The sicaran looks great too, and I like your 'no sponson weapon solution'. Although the tank is really in need of those lascannons - they look cool and in the game, it being a fast vehicle, there's really no reason not to use them!

The Sicaran is well-painted, but those beautiful Legion symbols are occupying the space where sponson-mounted weapons should go. Are you foregoing such weapons altogether?

Cheers guys. Honestly the reason why it doesn't have sponsons currently is I only have a vague idea of where they may be. When I made this a long, long time ago I never got around to magnetizing the sponsons. They'll definitely be added when I find them! Most likely at a similar time to when I paint a bunch of dreadnought arms really.

Edit: Forgot to answer about Perturabo - his hazards are the same pale gold as used on the Contemptors as I wanted to avoid bright yellow on him.

Way too much to even comment on, but suffice to say, you're making me want to (try to) make Iron Warriors! Some of those Sarges in particular are absolutely badass...

Cheers! It's always good to have more of the IVth, so it'd be good to see them if you end up taking the plunge!

Nothing particularly exciting today, but I did get another 4 marines done. Basic bolters.

With all the marines I have painted at some point I need to go back and drill all the barrels...

It's been a while! Well, a week. I've been spending some time painting xenos for the gangs of Commorragh game, but I've been working on the IVth here and there.

Finally managed to snag a comparatively inexpensive original style rhino off of eBay, and I've been spending time salvaging it. Poor guy's been primed white, red then black so I'm removing most of the offending paint. With brass etch as a few updated details it should nicely serve as the remarkably small transport for my artscaled marines, ohohoho.

Going to finish this guy up and pledge him for Loyalty and Treachery. All the tanks, it seems.

Really pleased with the contrast between the artscaled marines and the tiny, tiny rhino. Truly, having 10 giants disembarking from it will be a constant treat.

Up next is likely going to be the Iron Circle Domitar, since I'm getting pretty close to finishing everything now! Exciting times, though I'll likely be adding yet more tanks to round out the army.

Made a start on the Iron Circle Domitar! A before pic, then where I am so far.

Just have the shield and base to go and he's done, so should have him done in the next few days with any luck.

Going to work on the last Legion Rapier next to finish those off. I should have a few tanks arriving soon that I'll need to work on but, aside from those, it's getting pretty close to the finish line.

Sweet! It must be pretty fulfilling being so close to finished with everything at this standard.

Cheers! It was fulfilling enough to take a break for a while.

Love that clowncar Rhino.

It's going to be glorious once the unit is fully done.

very cool updates... my only question is have you thought about an icon or badge over the top rhino hatches?

I was tempted, but not really sure what to go for. They do need a bit of iconography to help break it up.

Always had a soft spot for the Iron warriors even though they are filthy traitors   These are gorgeous, and Perturbo with a helmet is just bad ass looking. Well done sir.

Thanks! Been a favourite of mine ever since Storm of Iron.

So I ended up taking a lot of time off to avoid feeling burnt out since I'd been powering through stuff. Still not going to dive back in quite so much, but I reckon I'll take a more relaxed approach since there's really not much to go. Yesterday and today I spent some time getting the last Graviton Rapier partly done since the deadline for the pledge is coming up.

Main colours blocked in, so on the rapier itself I only really need to wash the tracks and paint lenses. Sadly one of the little nodules broke off and went somewhere, but ah well. Crew need more work, mainly shoulder trims, blacks and weathering, then details and bases. Still, relatively close.
