Lord Commander Eidolon
A significant improvement over the original model! Great blend of the 40k bits too, he does look like he's well on the way to damnation!! You just need to improve the messed up 40k version of him now!! hushrong
Awesome work on Typhus. I feel it in my gut that his 'belly' should be armored more instead of exposed soft armor but it looks too darn cool as is. Definitely a good choice on avoiding more cables and such there. I also think I just made a pun in that earlier sentence... And he is heightened too! He probably makes standard terminators look like children. Capt. Jack
Happy Friday gang! I've tried to be a productive chap this week, finishing off some half completed projects and making some headway on some commissions. I'm delighted Typhon seems to have gone down well universally, and I'm super excited to get him painted up. I'll have to wait until I've finished the dreads and termies for my next event in April... This morning I finished off Shadrak Meduson, Warleader of the Xth Legion and the shattered remnants of the XIIIth and XIVth Legions. I tried to copy the cover art of 'Meduson' as accurately as possible, and I hope you can see the similarities between my rendition and the art. I've always been a huge fan of Meduson, and love how well his character has been written and developed across the HH series. As ever, C&C welcome! The Flesh is Weak! http://i65.tinypic.com/o8uc6f.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/3346rns.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/206istx.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/2r708zb.jpg http://i65.tinypic.com/255icnp.jpg Amazing rendition of Calas! :) Many thanks dude! That Cortus Dread.....I want it....now. You just wait for Cortus #2! Evening all! Been on the case this week with plenty of personal projects and commissions being worked on. I'm delighted to say I manged to get First Captain Calas Typhon done and ready for paint! You will no doubt have seen WiPs I've posted of Mortarion proxy, but I wanted your feedback on the finished article. I decided against any additional details on the front of the waist in the end, as I feel adding cabling would have detracted from the ribbed armour. Throne knows he already has enough cabling on him! Really pleased with how this project turned out. This is after Istvaan V when Typhon, unlike his liege decided to dabble in warp craft and re-hone his psychic abilities. Not the corrupted soul we know of in the 40k universe, yet still clearly affected by the wicked power he draws from the warp the the denizens therein, his body gaunt yet filled with an unnatural vitality. Death to the False Emperor!http://i68.tinypic.com/2po6pl1.jpghttp://i68.tinypic.com/efjktu.jpghttp://i65.tinypic.com/20hnj80.jpghttp://i63.tinypic.com/2nqgp3d.jpg @MarshalRohr - Glad to be of assistance, and I'm really pleased you like the waist detailing! Inspiring conversion! Cheers buddy! Glad you approve! A significant improvement over the original model! Great blend of the 40k bits too, he does look like he's well on the way to damnation!! You just need to improve the messed up 40k version of him now!! Thanks fella! You and I both know 40k Typhon is on my workbench... I know what you mean but I think this is the best outcome for his belly! He's a big boy but then my other termies are also big, either from boosting or using the Blight Lords! I plan to buy and convert up some 40k Deathshroud at some stage. Now THEY are big!
hushrong
Meduson looks sweet! Before reading the script I thought he looked like a fella off of a familiar HH cover. You definitely hit it out of the park with him! I also need a few dozen sets of those torsos and legs. Excellent work beefing that up! And yes, Typhus came out niiiiice. Definitely want to see some more of your work as I would like to take some notes for some of my own terminators. And yes, the Deathshroud are no joke. I no longer have them or my DG but they are seriously my favorite unit in the game. Their history, rules, their points drop awhile back, and their minis rock. Capt. Jack
Morning chaps, Managed to finally finish the metallics on my Praetor/Grave Wardens, ready for the decal, seal and washes phase, where the progress becomes more obvious. Thinking of painting ALL steel like I've done the apothecary backpacks to show how far along the path these chaps have become. Thoughts? http://i66.tinypic.com/9zyrzs.jpg Meduson looks sweet! Capt. Jack
Good afternoon all! Been rolling up my sleeves and cracking on with my Contemptors ready for Kortus VII, a narrative event on the 14th April. Had a really productive airbrushing session last night, but I'm yet to block out metallics, spray lacquer, wash etc, which I will do over the weekend hopefully. Waiting on the newer DG FW decals sheet purchased on Heresy Trading before I can finish markings for the Praetor and Grave Wardens and get them done. Plenty to keep myself busy with until then including *cough* Typhon... Anywho, here is a sneaky pic of honour Lhex, the Cortus contemptor to converted up lately. Enjoy! http://i68.tinypic.com/22ays1.jpg Your stuff here is amazing. Meduson looks like he's stepping right off of the book cover. Where did you score his backpack from? What a great piece Many thanks buddy! I hope I stuck to the cover art well! Herald is correct! It is from Ennox Sorrlock, the Deathwatch:Overkill Iron Hand. Your stuff here is amazing. Meduson looks like he's stepping right off of the book cover. Where did you score his backpack from? What a great piece Not to steal the Cap's thunder, but it's Ennox Sorrlock's backpack; the Iron Hand from Deathwatch: Overkill. Thanks dude! I try not to reply when it's just the one comment so I appreciate you clarifying the part for Boytoy! More paint makes me happy! And Mortarion is getting a repose? OHHHH BOYYY. Soon... Can I ask where you get your chains from? Your stuff's incredible, and thanks in advance! Thanks buddy! Much appreciated. Usually ebay. Just search for fine modelling chain and order a few different sizes to suit a few different sized models ☺ Those DG are massive! Love how you used the cover art for Meduson! :tu: They are big boys as well they should be! As for Meduson, he is a Don! Wow Meduson looks fantastic, love seeing these character models from you! Looking forward to seeing the Grave Wardens completed! Thanks fella! He was gathering dust so really needed to get him sorted! Grave Wardens should be soon I hope! Running out of time to get them done for this event! *gulp* This has got to be one of my favourite blogs at the moment. The Meduson cover boy looks fantastic, where is the backpack from? Typhon is also looking great, but I remember him being depicted as having a goatee or something of that sort in Eisenstein. Looking forward for more. Thanks Markus, that's very kind to say! Backpack is from Ennox Sorrlock. Typhon does have hair and a goatee but I wanted to depict him 'wasted' from using his powers increasingly after Istvaan V. Hollowed out his cheeks too! What else would you want to see on my thread?

Capt. Jack
Spent some time on 1st Captain Calas Typhon earlier this week. Managed to get a fair bit done too! Atm the bronze/copper has been given a thick oxidised patina which will be sponged over with warplock bronze and then brass scorpion, so don't worry that I've :cussed him up somehow! Got the cloth, black details (pipes and the plates under the main shoulderpads, the leather belt (gonna have a proper go at leather this time), rust wash for the steel, pin washes for rivets, rust streaks, his head and finally his scythe. Have mostly done his base, which I've been using for a rust pigment tutorial that I will share either tomorrow or at some stage over the weekend. Oh, and will probably have a crack at a nice blood effect to finish him off! C&C welcome. http://i64.tinypic.com/2z9it50.jpg Loving the dread, Captain! hushrong
The Dread looks great! With paint on him its impossible to tell that it used to be the plastic kit. Looking forward to more paint on Typhus! Interested in seeing the metals progress. I think I will take notes and learn something to try and copy in the future.
Capt. Jack
Hey guys, Apologies for the lack of updates, I had a narrative event last weekend and spent every day leading up to it painting like mad! It was a really well run event and I was awarded best painted walker for my Contemptor Cortus, which was nice! I have a event now every month for the next three months, culminating in a 3k event in July! Needless to say I'm going to be working on a few tanks in the near future! I neglected to get an army shot, or pictures of the finished Mortis, but I have my Praetor, Grave Wardens and Cortus to share with you today. As ever, C&C welcome! KrautScientist
The finished Contemptor Cortus is looking absolutely fantastic! I have said before that I think your version is actually much more interesting than the stock model, and this has become even moreso with the stunning paint job! Excellent work on the Captain and Terminators as well, although I'd say they seem to be lacking that extra bit of finish to take them to an even higher level: Once again, your rust is very well done, but it also leads to the brown areas blurring together a bit. And I know that you'll hate me for saying this, as we have been over this before, but I really think the brownish cloth doesn't work as well as the red one you have used in places (on this guy, for instance). I get what you were saying before about wanting the fabric to look faded, but I think the cloth areas could (should?) actually provide a bit of a visual counterpoint, especially since you have such a stunning recipe for the armour plates. And the brownish cloth just doesn't achieve that, in my opinion (it's especially noticeable where brownish rusty armour blends into brownish fabric, and it all just ends up being ...brown). Now don't get me wrong, I think your models are absolutely fantastic! I just think that making a few tweaks to them could improve them even further. Oh, by the way, that mutated terminator is looking legitimately disturbing. Great job giving me the shivers! :)

Capt. Jack
Afternoon all! Been working like mad lately, as those of you who follow my shenanigans on Facebook and Instagram will know! A combination of commissions and more projects for the XIVth Legion. Today's offering is Aeonid Thiel, the 'Censured' and hero of Calth. Really pleased to have gotten this chap finished, and that I got the chance to experiment with some bricks for the base! So cute! :3 C&C welcome! http://i67.tinypic.com/2d7u53n.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/35jm7w0.jpg http://i65.tinypic.com/2zexxxd.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/2hfludj.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/2rqf62v.jpg The finished Contemptor Cortus is looking absolutely fantastic! I totally get where you're coming from, and agree about the reds as a starker contrast to the other colours on the models, but I needed a quick, premixed colour to work from that wouldn't take too long to perfect. In essence, I've been a little lazy! With the Grave Wardens admittedly I rushed the metals to get them done for an event a couple of weeks ago, but I'll revisit them soon! The paint job and weather is to die for! Hoping we can get some future battle shots of these bad :cuss-es at work! Thanks buddy! I need to stop drinking during games so I can get some better shots, especially of my bois performing in ZM games! Papa is pleased.
