Ideas, tips and inspiration for a large Heresy city table

Heya,

I've finally managed to come up with a solution for keeping a game table in my apartment. I'll be getting a foldable ping pong table and a rack system to store modular terrain plates. This allows for tables up to 9'x5' in size, which should be great for Horus Heresy games of 3-5000 points. In order to fill up such a table with terrain I'm also looking into buying a 3D printer, which would allow for absolute creative freedom.

With that being said I actually have little experience with city tables. I've never experienced urban terrain beyond the standard 5-6 citadel ruins placed. Thus I'm now turning to B&C both for inspiration and tips on how to design an urban battlefield that's also enjoyable to play on. How tight can the terrain be before it simply becomes obnoxious, and are there any common traps I should avoid while designing it? And are there any stuff I should take into extra consideration if I'm designing it with larger heresy games in mind?

In short, throw any useful knowledge regarding city tables at me as well as tell me of your own experiences playing HH games in urban terrain biggrin.png

Wow, that's an incredibly inspirational project! I also looked into those battle frame tiles which seemed like a perfect fit for the project, sadly it'd cost way too much to import them to Sweden. They don't even have a shipping option for an order as large as I want to put in. wacko.png
