Forgive me fellas, for leaving you dry. I've not been pleased with the actual photography of my minis for quite some time. I've been in a rump as to how to do it. I don't really have any such set ups that's great for natural lighting, or to diffuse non-natural lighting. Have some potato attempts.

I'll have some fluff for these guys written up shortly! (Give Warp variation two-three days)

I'm in agreement. Those guys look wicked creepy. I love it

How'd you make the helmets? I might steal this for the Khorne Berzerkers for my Night Lords.

It's been far too long my friends. The 42nd have had little progress, as I've been too preoccupied with real life problems, such as my cogitator sh*tting the bed, and a seasonal helladay month at work. Anyway, it's back unto the anvils of war for me and the 42nd. I have been dutifully ordering pieces to fill in the missing elements for my company, with additions to the medium armor, artillery, heavy infantry, and light infantry portions. A certain first Captain and perhaps the gene-sire himself will accompany the company in the future as well!

So yeah, I've got another two Legion Medusas on the way, as well as another three Predators. To fill out the survivability of my troops, I've acquired several apothecaries (and have something grizzly planned for them). As gifts in exchange for some paint-jobs and conversions, I have been gifted Sevatar and Curze himself! The goal is to have Sevatar painted up by the end of the month, in time for a heresy event in January on the east coast.

That's it up for updates, I do leave you with this...

Now that is a nice looking terminator! :tu: I like, very grizzly, fitting for the VIII (I need to do more grizzly and gory trophies on my 40k Night Lords now that I think of it....)

Excellent painting and conversions!! The skin draped on the tanks and marines is really scary looking, looks great though! Really dig the draped skin on their faces too that's really neat too!!

I've done it, I've mastered marble!

It's all been leading up to this!

the command squad is making fast and terrible progress towards the Imperial palace...

That eviscerator squad looks great. Not only are those heads super creepy but the movment you've got in those poses really gives them a rampaging berzerker feel and makes those chainblades look super heavy and unwieldy, I love it.

Beholdd! Expeditionary fleet 251.The Fleet of Judgement.

Consisting of several capital ships and many smaller frigates and destroyer escorts, associated personnel carriers, allied Mechanicum and Titan Legio. The 251st saw lots of Compliance actions in the southern portions of Segmentum Ultima nearing the Eastern Fringes, as well as many pacification actions within those regions. While the fleet had several Astartes contingents and companies, most noted were the 17th, 29th, 58th battle companies, the 4th recon company, and the 42nd and 86th armor companies. The Flagships are recorded as being unique class of Astartes battle-barges; 'The Arrival Of Judgement', and her sister ship 'Sorrowed Judgement'.

*Whew*

With the fluff out of the way, here's my nearly completed Battlefleet for Battlefleet:Heresy. The bastards at the Brace for Impact podcast got me hooked on it, and so here's the labor of a months work (give or take). What I am still working on (and not pictured) is three strike cruisers and a squadron of Hunter escorts. I've also still yet to obtain the above-mentioned barges, but those will be coming eventually! I won't be doing personnel/titan coffin ships at this time, though I may return to the idea of non-combat ships for missions that require escorts. I've also included the list for the names I've made up for the fleet, as you can see - not every name got used, so that always gives me an excuse to return and add to the fleet! The keen eyed of you will notice that this is the fleet that houses my own homebrew company, the 42nd armored. As always C+C welcome. By the by, I totally haven't given up on painting the actual Age of Darkness minis, i've just been preoccupied with a different scale. ;)

The fleet looks great, reading the various battles depicted in the Heresy series has started to get me interested in partaking in a bit of void warfare myself, hopefully it'll be next in line for a revamp from GW/FW.

Not a fan of he puttied up prows

Ah, well. Don't putty up your prows then. I did it to break up the monotony of painting the same hull multiple times.

Those ships look awesome. Lots of cool work in here.

Cheers man, much appreciated!

I was fully expecting that it would be announced at either Adepticon or Warhammerfest. Since both of those are canned, who knows. I also firmly believe that if not this year, it would be announced next year. Hopefully the scale remains the same, I'd love to add to my fleet(s), not treat it like a separate system because the models are suddenly in a different scale. Sadly, my cynicism leads to believe that GW could and would purposefully change the scale, to put a dent in the 3d printed industry. Anyway, with the bad boils popped, here's some new goodies that I've added to the 42nd, and some to the 251st fleet.

I cannot remember what the bits were called, but if anyone knows where or what kit those blades come from, I would be most appreciative. I had a handful that I used on this tactical support squad, and loved the look of them. Definitely want more of them, but unsure where to start. This was also my first time doing OSL, so please give me your thoughts on that!

Now for the fleet additions;

Presented are three Strike Cruisers attached to the 251st "Judgement" fleet, respectively they are; Tenebris Ultima, Superventus Mortum, and the Merciless Maw. I imagine each houses a different company or contingent of a different company, that composes the 251st expeditionary. I had a lot of fun with these suckers, the hull insignia was a (now OOP) Puppetswar shoulder pad, cut down and resized (as well as slightly flattened) to fit onto the prows. The side skulls are Gw plastics cut down.

What's in the works: Sevatar is being up and painted. I'm looking into acquiring two battle barges, and have some smaller escorts that need to be primed and painted. Cheers, until next time - lizard

+++TRANSMISSION+++

“The sector is held by a few regiments of the Imperial Army, a minor Auxilia detachment. They cannot spare more, nor can they ignore it. The sector is adjacent to KG-2B, and next to that is -“

“Artillery batteries, estimated at roughly half dozen platoons?”
“Exactly.”
“Astartes presence?”
“Minor.”

“Soft flesh. Send in the Raptors.”

Anyone else tearing through their backlog at the speed of light? Anyway, here's a squad of five Raptors tearing it up and landing on the battlements of the Palace!

"You! I will make an example of you! You are a testament to failed rebellion."

AsU0uST.jpg?1

So I made a basic 10 man tac squad a while back. Wasn't overly pleased with some stuff, so they sat around mostly built. I primed 5 today, with the intent of doing them in batches. Then I tried out the kantor air blue, thinking "Oh boy, I no longer have to mix my airbrush flow!" and holy :cuss lads, it's a completely different blue. Totally lame. Going to have to redo the blue tomorrow.

D6WcVGm.jpg?1

The problem is though, I'm super low on the regular kantor blue...

What's on the table though; the 42nd armored is getting a lot more chunky fire power. More treads coming in hot. Predators, Sicarans, even a Lupercal! (Macharius ;)) Stay tuned folks. I ordered some 3rd party gubbins to spice up the tanks. I'll try to be more conscious of posting on this thread.
