I redid the Reiver in a more suitable color scheme. Looks much better methinks.

Also, not my work, but I thought these were really nice.

Speaking of helmets - what are people's thoughts on how to distinguish a primaris lieutenant? Sgts get the same colour helmet as their squad, with the black shoulders. Captain Aphael in the old codex is all red with gold bling on the shoulders. Karlean is red with black shoulder pads. Tycho all gold, as is Dante. I like AAN's idea above of a halved shoulder pad, but that used to be the captain designation in 3rd.

I am planning on the old school black rims for the primaris to help distinguish them a little bit - they'll overall be less weathered than my standard marines too. But I use the halved shoulder pad design for captains - which leaves me in a bind for lieutenants, and there's nothing official yet I can find. Perhaps a gold helmet, but that's vet squads and probably ancients - and helmet is not a rank designation for BA anyway, it's a swap from shoulder squad type. He can't wear terminator armour, and not all will be 1st company so no crux either?

My plan for the lieutenants was to just paint their shoulders in the old rogue trader/2nd edition scheme for Lieutenant Commanders (http://belloflostsouls.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC05972.jpg  for example).

In fact, I plan to go a bit old school with the iconography since I suspect they would likely have a more traditional scheme versus modern blood angels. The only bad part is that supposedly the primaris have chevrons over things which I will have to figure out how to compensate for.

My pre-order finally arrived so I converted my captain

That's disgustingly cool man. I have a completely unopened box of Sanguine Guard that I'm debating cracking into or not (will we have primaris sang. guard?! should i just hold off?!)

but now i'm tempted to crack it open to grab a set of wings for my box in the mail. amazing job dude

I have now created a blog for my Primaris Progress, help keep me motivated with encouragement to actually paint please :blush.:

It's great seeing so many people embracing Primaris Marines, I can't wait to see where things go!

Is anyone here contemplating some reformed Primaris Knights of Blood?  With the blood drop shield transfers, it seems like a really solid option, and an interesting narrative option.  They came to Baal's defense in spite of being renegades.  What if they were all destroyed by the swarm, but re-formed as a Primaris chapter due to the honor they showed in their sacrifice?  I mean, as renegades with the flaw, there couldn't have been many of them left to begin with.

Hi folks.

since "TheHarrower" already posted some of my pics (please do not do this without permission BTW) here comes the next mini. Took me a bot longer, but I hope you agree it was worth the extra time and effort.

5th Primaris, Brother Captain Victus. Another conversion.

Again a head swap (BA Tactical Sergeant), sword from a Sanguinary Guard, extra purity seal at wrist,

BA wing on left shoulder pad and the banner. I am happy how the conversion fits together.

And a group shot:

To be fair, he did say they weren't his and linked to your Dakka thread, it's not like he was claiming your work as his own.

Fantastic work, well worth the effort you put in to it.

As an aside, reposting people's pictures gets messier and messier as time goes on with the advent of Google's image searching algorithms. If I do a search on "Blood Angels Primaris", search engines don't care if they belong to someone or if you post messages on your blog saying "Don't use my images". So it is terribly easy to find a pic, copy the link and just repost it everywhere without actually seeing your warning ahead of time. This just means that copy write/Intellectual property text and/or watermarks are more and more necessary to help those who don't yet have direct brain implants to the internet keep their images semi-secure. Since you already have your "copy write" text in these images above, it sounds like you are doing your due diligence already!

Please forgive our Frater who repost links. I believe that as long as they don't take credit for your awesome painting, we all benefit from seeing fine works wherever they are found.

Love that white! That a wash or did you edge highlight in a darker paint?

Anybody see any death company primaris yet??

Great job, keep posting progress

I'm planning on painting one of my LT's in black armor with some DC paraphenalia on him.  I'll make sure to post something when he's up!

To many things to work on and not enough time to do it! I have however managed to do some mild conversion work on my Primaris very little in the way of painting done yet though!

Stellar work. I hope you didn't take any offense to me reposting these. I mean, I did:

  1. Say it wasn't my work
  2. Provide a back link to your original thread on Dakka
  3. Posted in your original thread on Dakka and provided a link here so you knew I was reposting them.

I am putting together a Blood Angels Primaris gallery on my blog. I'd like to include your minis if that's okay. I'm crediting everyone and providing links. If not, that's fine too.

@Jonke

Thanks... Its fairly simple I cut the bulk away with clippers then was very careful with a hobby knife. Just take your time and try not to cut yourself =P
