betrayer41 Posted October 18, 2017 Author Share Posted October 18, 2017 Thanks guys: @ Dantay: I really appreciate that, I thought the white was too white my first go around so i mixed black and purple and thinned it down to a colored water consistency and it where the shadows would be. I think it really made the rest of the whites pop! @Sagentus: Thanks man, much appreciated, i REALLY want to used butchers in 40k just wasn't sure how and for the longest time i was too scared to chop em up....but i think its turning out pretty well so far Man, that Lord... Very nice indeed.I'm not a fan of the base models but they sure make for great conversion fodder, it's a shame they're not used more often I agree. I love the models themselves i just hate the forced poses and arm angles. I orded individual butchers off of ebay so i could control what arms i get. I honestly have no idea what im doing in 40k. Im looking for a bit of help. I already have 1 spartan 1 landraider 1 leviathan 1 anvillus 1 hellbrute 2 Khârn 5x termies (no idea how to equip them) And iam working on custom units now. Since the WE changing colors wasn't due to them painting their armor or anything but rather them just not cleaning blood off i figured i can have red/white as well as red in my army. These guys were destroyers during the Heresy and crusade. However as time went on the the butchers nails made them More and more mad as well as their rad weapons taking their tole. They slowly stopped fulfilling their duties and went the way of most World eaters. Also im starting to think it would look better to have them actually holding chain swords rather than them having the chainswords on their back. Your work has been a huge inspiration to my Scouring-era World Eaters, which are getting a similar paint scheme to what you are using. Unforuntately i know of very little 30k in the ATL area. So i plan on running 40k lists but as close to a legion list as possible. Not ALOT of demons or chaosy stuff. Sagentus Posted October 25, 2017 Share Posted October 25, 2017 As a general pro qou - a squad of 5 raptors can have up to 2 special weapons (plasma/flamer/melta) and the squad commander can have Power fist or power weapon with bolt/plasma pistol. For my squad of 5 i have 2 with chainsword/BP, 2 plasmaguns and champ with PF/BP atm (I have not glued the plasma's on so can easily change them out) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

DuskRaider Posted October 26, 2017 Share Posted October 26, 2017 They seem a little... underwhelming, if I'll be honest. Too small, IMO. It's a shame you can't get your hands on the older Raptor jump packs, those were the cat's meow. Barring that, perhaps Mk. II jump packs? The thing is, Primaris are so much larger than regular Marine models, so Mk. IV jump packs, which barely fit to the Marine model as it is, are just dwarfed by the huge Primaris. Also, champ can have combi weapon, he can also have dual plasma. The normal raptors are allowed 2 with plasma pistols, but you would have to swap out the melta/plasma gunners to do so. I know there is a 3rd party that makes MKII and the common complaint was they were too big so they should be perfect for these guys. Any other suggetions.
