Blindhamster
Had a fun little game against a friends world eaters. His wife got him his first models in something like 25 years so we took them for a spin. was quite entertaining as the two armies wanted to do the same thing (CHARGE!) Interesting matchup in that it essentially became a case of trading units. Mephiston had a good moment taking on a mostly complete berserker squad with their judiciar equivalent solo. He used the charged version of his power and I got 5 hits in with it, killed a few, then I epic challenged his character, killed him and over spill killed most of the rest of the unit! Shows that whilst swingy, when it swings the right way, Mephiston can definitely be a monster. Meanwhile my death company killed a rhino and then got wiped in a single berserker charge, my intercessors got wiped in a berseker charge and his final unit of berserkers were wiped by an assault intercessor charge. Blindhamster
Progress on second batch of sanguinary guard: also.. Dont think I put pictures of first batch but: I also ordered tortuga bay jump packs with wings to test, if I prefer them, I'll use them, if not, I won't. Personally don't like a lot of the ones I've seen as the wings are too wide apart. oh and a sanguinary priest, the choice in parts is so i can make him look mataneo from Tacticus lol. Blindhamster
Small update on progress, it's far from perfect, but I'm pretty happy with it, should look decent once painted. I also ordered a few bits from Archies forge (assault intercessor style shoulderpads, so i can compare to the ones I did myself and maybe replace some, bits for a DC brutalis, heads for sanguinary guard (I want all 6 models to have different helmets and some terminator bits that I won't be able to use... for now.) This has been my mindset when deciding on how to equip my deathwatch vet teams, bolters over shields :) @Blindhamster Any basic tips on sculpting hair? I did a head swap on a Lt Amulius, gave him a baldie so I could try it out. Blindhamster
I tend to approach hair organically, I have a rough style in mind but let it develop as a sculpt. I start with slightly more green stuff than I think I will need and first step is usually to trim it into vaguely the shape I want. then in terms of adding detail, I usually try for a less is more approach and start from the parting, working away. Silas7
Didn't think you were a miniature barber too. I'll start with a pea sized ball and pull from that and see how it goes. Blindhamster
I've actually done a fair bit of "stuff" of different kinds over the past month or two. Primarily around basing my models... Death company (still needs rust/oxidation adding to things, and the helmet on the one base needs highlights and details) I also got the latest warhammer heroes, as well as the anniversary captain and one of those black templar chaplains, so those have been blocked in and based also: as with other stuff, the tyranid is painted in my sons army colours The captain there has a world eater based on my friends models and paint choices: Edited Thursday at 04:41 PM by Blindhamster DemonGSides, Jolemai, Silas7 and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335744-blindhamsters-blood-angels/page/16/#findComment-6142196 Share on other sites

Blindhamster
I also built and based my third set of terminators... I've also built and started basing a death company dread And finally, I got some space wolf stuff for anniversary in the summer, I've started the process of making them blood angels - they'll likely become a couple of squads of on foot death company (one with bolt rifles and one with melee) Rhavien, Silas7, DemonGSides and 2 others 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/335744-blindhamsters-blood-angels/page/16/#findComment-6142204 Share on other sites
