Librarian

Captain

Intercessors - push fit for now

Reivers - push fit for now

Rules are in the box/blister, however, there are additional rules here and/or here for Matched Play. Interestingly, it seems that the Librarian has access to the Librarius discipline in lieu of the Sanguinary discipline.

See page 89 of Imperium 1, new models

Just a note that it did not include the cost of MX Gravis armor. So it looks like all these new "tougher" marines are exactly like old marines with less options so far.

I'll still be buying them and the limited edition Captain from the birthday event. Powerfist and Plasma Incinerator? Yes please!

It's doesn't include gravis armour options because neither model is wearing gravis armour - there is already a datasheet for a primaris captain in gravy armour.

They're good mini's the few issues i have with them are the price, that the loin cloth on the capt is part of the belt and you only get ultrasmurf transfers and the price, mainly the price... did i mention the price?

I don´t have the datasheet but based on:

page 89 in Index imperium 1 "blood angels psychers generate their powers from the sanguinary discipline instead of the librarius discipline"

BA primaris librarians will have to use sanguinary.

Space wolves have no such rule since they don´t use librarians. They use runepriests, and the runepriest datasheet says to generate powers from the tempestas discipline, therefor they need an extra rule on their primaris librarians to let the primaris use the tempestas.

They have twice as many sprues as the barely cheaper clampacks.

But those clampacks are ridiculously priced.

So they're a reasonable price jump on top of an unreasonable base price.

$74NZD, my goodness that's insane... The lack of transfers other than ultramarines is also a bit of a let down.

Really good spot! Nice reading.

I'm having a real hard time justifying (in my brain) including both these into my yet to be clipped primaris demi-company. Especially when we have rumors going on about new squads and models. I do like the librarian (in helmet) though even if he is overpriced. I don't have many libbies so I can at least somewhat justify getting one. But probably later on (unless they do a price hike later this year).

Aye, the Primaris librarian doesn't really offer anything over the normal one - sure he's a little better in a fight but he still casts like regular ones.

Might pick one up to make a Mephiston conversion though, I like my previous Mephiston (Dark Vengeance Libby with a different backpack) but he's nothing special...

Primaris librarian and regular librarian are the same points cost...

So  you get a free wound and free attack! Whats not to like.

Interesting that a primaris captain is more expensive than a regular captain in points though.

Didn't realise that.

That's very silly then :P

Most of mine are all TDA anyway :P

Turning this guy into a Mephiston isnt really an improvement over the Dark Vengeance Librarian mephiston, I mean. Both walking a bit, waving an arm and holding a sword - of which only the sword holding is anything like the original model.

I'd go with the deathwatch overkill librarian, swap out the bolt pistol for plasma pistol, then sculpt a mullet on him. No beard and angry face is a better Mephy.

The price is steep, I like the libby but the captain i'm a little unsure of. I might want to wait to see if we get a multi part captain or if GW plan on just doing clam-packs for characters forever. It may be better to scrounge for the store release captain on ebay for a little higher price but with a pose i like more.

Aye, but I like the size haha, a nice alternative way to show Mephy's T5.

Pop. BA head in there with some fangs then I'll give him a funky back pack.

Inability to take Jump Packs or fit into a Transport? I feel that our Librarians need to be at the front supporting our assault units but at present, this dude has no way to get there. Captains and Lieutenants can go on foot and buff our shooty units but unless you want to cast SoS on some Devastators, this guy looks a bit limited.

Plus the option for a stalker pattern bolt rifle.

I'm guessing heavy 2 so -1 36 inch range.

Would be nice if it also had an option to snipe things with it like a sniper rifle.

Actual stats are Range 36", Heavy 1 S4 AP-2 D2

Looks like this guy is designed to babysit Devastator squads and the like. Still, at nearly 100 points, that is an expensive way to reroll 1s.

They'll have a transport soon, in the meantime they can go in my thunderhawk :D

For sure, primaris have a very different play style to our core currently, with it feeling very much like a shooty army. Will see how it looks once some more units and options are available.

As for expensive way to reroll 1s for shooting... not really? the only way we have to reroll hits is via captains.

I've been struggling with this. I'm Flesh Tearers through and through and I have to build shooty. I keep getting knee jerk reactions to maybe paint them up as Ultramarines. But then I look at my profile picture and I remember that Flesh Tearers are damned awesome and resign myself to a shooty army for now.
