Librarian Kex
Howdy all, So I was looking through all the cultist sprues that I had and I noticed that none of them came with the heavy stubber or the cultist flamers. I remember seeing the models before but I don't know where I can find them now. Is there a source to buy cultists with special weapons that isn't ebay? I'd like to be able to buy several of these guys and I'd appreciate having a reliable source of them. Thanks a lot. Naryn
They're in the Dark Vengeance box, but I don't believe anywhere else. Ebay is probably your best bet, unless you feel like converting up your own. Panzer
Yeah they are only in the Dark Vengeance box, not in the Cultist boxes you can buy seperately. HeresyBeliever
are they in the larger box you can buy which includes like 20 cultists Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337902-cultists-sprue-question/#findComment-4851564 Share on other sites
Panzer
are they in the larger box you can buy which includes like 20 cultists No. As said, only in the Dark Vengeance box. The box with the 20 Cultists is basically only 4 times the box with the 5 Cultists + the Champion. Halandaar
are they in the larger box you can buy which includes like 20 cultists Nope, that box is just 4x the 5-Cultist sprue. Dark Vengeance is/was the only source of the other cultist models. HeresyBeliever
Thats rubbish then. I need to did out all my unbilt/painted cultists. Was prepping for a game yesterday and counted that I had around 70 painted up but should have another 30+ not painted / unbuilt. I had them to use as renegades before FW ruined them for 8th Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337902-cultists-sprue-question/#findComment-4851583 Share on other sites
Panzer
You could always just buy the GSC Neophyte Hybrid box, remove the few GSC symbols, replace the heads and you would have a nice unit of Cultists with 10 Autoguns. It even comes with a Heavy Stubber but unfortunately not with a Flamer. Great idea that, and actually the kit does come with a flamer in the old 2nd Edition style; Librarian Kex 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337902-cultists-sprue-question/#findComment-4851681 Share on other sites
Panzer
Weird, the description doesn't say that but I guess you're right. Lord Asvaldir
The empire flaggelant models also make great cultists, just have to grab some laagun/autogun bits off eBay. OnboardG1
I didn't realise at first, but yep you're right. There it is on the top left of the sprue. They're also a similar visual style to regular cultists which is pretty nice. What heads do you think would go well with these guys? Panzer
What heads do you think would go well with these guys? Good question. Haven't really thought about it yet but I'd probably search for some 3rd party bitz. Still holding my money back in hope for a soon-ish EC modelrange. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337902-cultists-sprue-question/#findComment-4851774 Share on other sites
ElDuderino
The heads are fine as us imo, maybe do some head swaps with the chaos cultists to tie them together a bit? Also takes care of duplicate chaos cultists:) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337902-cultists-sprue-question/#findComment-4851778 Share on other sites

OnboardG1
To each their own but they look too GSC-ish for me. Yeah I think so too, plus I always have a weird "counts-as" itch that I need to scratch by doing some conversion work on whatever I'm working on. Lord Asvaldir
Lot of 3rd party heads out there you can use that work well for a cultist look. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337902-cultists-sprue-question/#findComment-4851784 Share on other sites

I was specifically talking about the heads there. ^^ maybe do some head swaps with the chaos cultists to tie them together a bit? Head swaps would be difficult since the Cultists all are snapfit models. bozo69pd
You can always use daemon troop of your choice heads. Blood letters or something. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337902-cultists-sprue-question/#findComment-4852148 Share on other sites
Panzer
Nah I don't think that fits for Cultists. They aren't possessed. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337902-cultists-sprue-question/#findComment-4852271 Share on other sites
Cryptix
The cultists I'm currently building are Genestealer Neophytes + Cadian heads, but my aesthetic is a most uncorrupted and scuffed up one so might not work for you. I find its most fun to find your own unique combo that fits your army and style. TwinOcted
Try AoS Chaos Marauders, especially the Marauder horsemen. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337902-cultists-sprue-question/#findComment-4852341 Share on other sites
MaliGn
Marauders, flagellants, if you can track them down the old forsaken, even the tzeentch acolytes or as khorne kits could yield suitable heads. Lord Asvaldir
Forsaken heads are a bit big for your standard sized cultist/guardsmen, but it's a great kit for any chaos conversations simply because it has a ton of mutated arms/heads. I made 40 cultists from empire flagellants and used heads from maxmini for more variety: http://maxmini.eu/conversion-bits/head-swaps. Also fits on the standard cultista decently well if you want to have less copies of the same model. I don't like marauders/acolytes for cultists since the models are so overtly muscular, which I don't want for my chaff cultists units but to each their own they do still make good human chaos followers.
