PliskinAJ
Don't worry I'm about to botch the job with the paint. Something I'm marginal at and with a toddler I don't really get to devote the time required to do a good job. Similar disruption pattern I put on the gunshields of the infantry guns. Had to choose between actual camouflage which looks horrible on a gaming model as its breaks up the shape or just enough to make it look like it has some camouflage. Bjorn Firewalker
The camouflage is not bad, but why is the dozer blade in the rear? This is a Salamander scout vehicle, not a Basilisk artillery tank; its main weapon doesn't have recoil strong enough to necessitate a rear-mounted spade to brace it. I originally was making this chassis as a colossus back in 2011. I never got around to finishing it so instead of cutting up a new chimera I figured re-use the old chassis. PliskinAJ
Finished with the knocked out Russ, I went with some grass in the two front ports A to fill the hole, B it makes it look like its been there a while and C its one of the few spots you can put tall static grass in wargame terrain since models won't fit there anyway. Bjorn Firewalker
Good job on the wrecked tank. Is the turret missing because it was salvaged, or because its onboard ammunition exploded and blew the turret clean off the hull? (See Iraqi tanks in Operation Desert Storm for reference.) In the latter case, the area around the turret ring should be blackened. PliskinAJ
I was thinking about that too was thinking should I put a kill shot hole in the side of the tank or what. I like the idea of a long abandoned tank for who knows what reason and its been stripped of usable parts and been sitting there for a long time. The tall grass does well for plugging the holes in the tank but it also says its been there a while for grass to grow there as tall as a man. All this being said I am tempted to put some scorch marks on around the turret ring an thinking of smoke stains on the tops of the side hatches. PliskinAJ
I got some more paint on the Command Salamander, way more to do though. Put some details on the lasguns, painted the tracks, started the mud layering, put some details in and washed the exterior of the tank. Still need to wash the bottom half of the tread sections, I try to wash individual panels at a time so I'm not trying to cover such a large area at once before the wash starts to set. I think the wash did a good job a toning it down. PliskinAJ
The laser table is officially operational, not complete. Fast it is not, but I wasn't making a money making machine. I am really happy with the results of this. First cut other than a test circle I have been working with to get speeds and feeds set. I think I slow the feed down a hair I can get a complete cut through. I had about 90% cut through I had to pop most of the parts out with a box cutter but this is promising.
