The mysterious piece of technology had resisted all scans up until this point. No one knew quite what it was capable of doing. The one general consensus was that it should remain dormant. So when a rogue element of the Adeptus Mechanicus threatened to power up the device, an emergency call was made for anyone able to stop them. The Dark Angels recieved that call and made their way to the planet. The possible fate of the entire galaxy at stake.
