I think, in this case, it's going to be a case of having one's cake and eating it. I can't say exactly what's coming up, and there'll definitely be some things that don't get covered - Sevatar's name came up in the meeting a few times, for example, and I shot that down because there's no time to deal with him, and because me and Alan planned his fate outside the main events of the HH series.

But overall, anyone worrying the series will milk the Siege can relax that we won't; anyone worrying it'll end too abruptly can also relax it's not going to. I sense a happy medium coming down the line.

Crikey. I hope not. It really needs closure.

I need closure. I can’t move on unless it’s completed! :biggrin.:

Hope is a road to disappointment. But I do believe in your good intentions A D-B. Hope GW marketing and selling team do too.

Anyway - whatever the opinion on the serie - you write a high octaine quality stuff. Can't wait to read another good story (especially if that's not a Webway war)

I shall carry it like a proverbial “Emperors Fulgurite”

Alternatively that last line sounds like something Sanguinius would say ... not that you’re writing about Sanguinius in any novel any time soon, right?!

Hinting - aren't you. We all want A D-B pen for the Eternity Gate

Honestly? Awful idea. A collection of books called the Horus Heresy where the finale is in another series? Just from a collectors viewpoint it would be extremely frustrating.

As a reader you series are left without a payoff. While not everything needs to be concluded or explained the base storyline has to have a finishing point.

The Horus Heresy is the whole series not just season 1, that was the first 20 books, season 2 is the progression to Terra, Season 3 needs to be satisfying in its conclusion.

If we could separate it by seasons - now we are on the 5th (of we take a 10 books per season). Season 6 would be final for a HH TV show

Maybe, I think you would break it up based on narrative rather than an arbitary number of books.

10 show seasons weren’t normal till recently. We could set it at 22 :tongue.:

it's actually chicken and egg with this stuff a lot of the time. yeah, a narrative defines a season but the depiction of that narrative is still somewhat driven by episode commission. that's why back in the 22 eps days you had a lot more "filler" or "stand alone" eps in between the overall series arc, which are almost non-existent in the cable and streaming dominated 10 ep seasons of today (at least from the u.s...pretty sure the u.k was always churning out mono digit seasons).

the HH is a really hard one to break up into seasons. it'd probs be a bit like vikings: short first season (opening trilogy), longer subsequent seasons. but it does strike me as being a pre hbo structure.

Nah, in the UK they tend to commission and make full seasons of larger numbers, I think the 10 show series in answer to the writer issues and seasons being left Incomplete.

Overall the comparison was more about leaving the viewer (reader) completely unsatisfied by having a Horus Heresy collectible series finish in a way that sets up a different collectible series. It would be like firefly stopping where it did purposefully to set up a serenity show that completed the arc.

Have they changed the page. Can't find this reference?

And...ignore me, it's on the schedule to download! Doh!

Haley says it's "more exciting than [Yarant]" on twitter. I wonder what that means.

Yeah he said "Yarant seen nothing yet!" LOL? ... Err ok - get's coat, leaves room in shame shaking his head at the horror of a Dad joke!

Yeap. That's exactly what Laurie intended for Russ hammering at the hands of Horus and getting to the point of Yarant where Corax has found him in 'Weregeld'

There is a mention in a Forge World book of Wolves on the Traitor side.

Nope.

That's exactly the Wolf Cull Laurie has talked about.

As blunblade says...there are Traitor Wolves

Honestly I'd be a little disappointed. Not in such a story per say, but that it lies in a novel instead of a short/novella. Unless its some Alpha Legionaries in disguise or something.

That said, I've been excited for Russ taking the fight to Horus for quite some time, and after Twisted, I'm expecting some superlative Sons of Horus stuff.
