Crazy ideas for our codex (whishlistin´& conspiracies)

I know, I'm just distilling your well thought out post into a facetious nothingness for comedy purposes.

We'll get at least the "fight again" stratagem.

As for others,I don't think I'm going enough to come up with stuff on the fly, but seeing what GW didn't with Nids, I think well be ok.

I think:

Space wolves -> marines that play like orks

Dark angels -> marines that play like tau

Blood angels -> marines that play like eldar.

Obviously not to the extent of eldar specialism, but the blend of speed and lethality that things like banshees have got would be nice.

Something like an additional -1AP on all combat attacks? I dunno.

I think a straight +1 to wound is too powerful, more likely reroll 1's, which blends with priests better. But I've said this before.

I don't know if we can really compare SM to other races. DA are also rather quick and heavy on fly units which I don't think the Tau are like. SW just imposter other SM chapters (Ironwolves=Iron hands, Blackman's=UM, etc). BA I think are much more diverse than Eldar as you said and is probably keyword Fly more often.

 

I really hope the BA get a something that really boosts them. Though the fluff is that you are mostly Primaris and it seems they are locking the codex rules with the fluff, so I really have no idea what to expect. Above all I hope you have multiple chapter tactics for Flesh Tearers and other successors. That way successors don't feel like they just play BA with a bit less red.

I don't mean carbon copies, I mean space marines with a slight twist of another playstyle.

 

In terms of broad themes

 

Dark angels - large hard to move firebases, like tau.

 

Space wolves - lower skilled berserker troops, tough Elite units, large combat focussed ego leading the force - compare ork nob biker gangs and thunder wolf mobs.

 

Blood Angels - rapid assault, ability to null or redeploy as needed to strike from any angle. Individual units relatively weak alone, but speed allows focusing of units to crush parts of the enemy. Like Eldar.

 

Dire avengers are rubbish alone. Fire dragons are rubbish alone, but eldar have the speed to get both of these units safely (!) into the same place at the same time to work in concert to nuke a transport then kill the contents, before flying away again. Eldar psychic powers likewise make units better at what they do instead of making them do something else.

I maybe even would have made president's list once or twice! 

 

Aherm, and to stay on track, I would be okay with a stratagem to allow us to charge/advance. I don't want our army trait to be the equivalent of Chaos raiders/renegades. We deserve better than that!

If you are talking about Morticon being negative, I'm thinking it was certainly justified even if you are just goofing about.

If you are talking about most all of us being negative. Things have sucked for far far too long. Hard to smile thru that kinda thing I'm thinking.

The index was a nice step in the right direction in my opinion, but left for much yet to be desired to be sure.

I can only hope that GW at least heard the input that he put together for now and in the future.

Hell I might even buy some  Primaris Marines I'm so full of glee with the idea we are getting our book in two weeks.

Well maybe... but the temptation is there and that counts for something. Right? Right.

Anyhow, I look forward to figuring out what doesn't suck anymore and what is just plain fun to play again with all of you.

I want to make it worthwhile to charge my tac squads in again. Last edition i loved the sneaky tactical assault
