Morticon
I want to make it worthwhile to charge my tac squads in again. Last edition i loved the sneaky tactical assault I really wish for the same. Just dont think they put out enough after losing the +1 attack :( sebs_evo7 1 Back to top
Are Verlo
If all BA units could consolidate 6 inches it will be all that easier to «tie up» enemy units. It will not help BA units reach close combat, but when you do reach enemy lines, the impact will be greater if you choose to consolidate into multiple units. Edit: spelling (autocorrect keeps on making norwegian suggestions) Edited November 26, 2017 by Are Verlo
Indefragable
For comparative purposes, a leak from WD Batrep about our cousins on the Rock: “Grim Resolve” = re-roll 1’s To Hit if the unit did not move. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341025-codex-dark-angels-incoming/?p=4942348 I wonder what that could mean for us. Lord_Caerolion
Give us the mirror, +1 to Hit if we've moved, I guess? Probably a bonus when we charge.
Jorre
Useful i guess but i would hate that as a chapter tactic..... really stifles movement!
Bremon
That does a lot for a chapter that’s really heavy on plasma in the fluff. Let’s you sit your plasma Tac marines on objectives and overcharge all day. Dolchiate Remembrancer 1 Back to top
Jorre
Very true Bremon, I still dont like it though. Take the plasma gun as an example. If you get out of a vehicle you count as moving. So does nothing! If your outside 24 you need to move to get in range. Does nothing. If your 18 away, you are probably going to move to rapidfire range. Does nothing! Its only going to be usefull if your already within 12... somehow. Bremon 1 Back to top

This seems to support Xenith's theory they will play like a Tau equivalent. So something akin to the Eldar is not too far out of the box now. Dolchiate Remembrancer
Thats what ive been talking about. Sure that rumoured DA trait sounds boring(and it does) but your army is better for it. Only against longer ranged guns are you worried. I want something like that for BA. Boring but good over interesting/fun but bad!

Indefragable
With the way 8th Ed Grim Resolve works, I find it fluffy and useful...I picture squads of implacable robes warriors leapfrogging up the board. One squad covers, the other moves. I understand how it could be tricky to use, but I can see it being massively useful in the right hands. I imagine high-end players will have dug-in long range units with lots of scouts or chaff units that you don’t care about the movement penalty for. I bet Ravenwing gets some rule that says “ignore the movement part for Grim Resolve.” Pendent, Bremon and Thrown Pommel 3 Back to top

Currently T'au operate best within 18" and with lots of movement. Yes the Ethereal allows to re-roll 1s for units in range if they didn't move but nobody uses that one since you can just use a Markerlight to get the same effect and still be moving. I really don't see any similarity between DA and T'au playstyle except for some DS&Shoot stuff but by that logic CSM etc. would play like T'au as well lol
Charlo
Funny thing about Grim Resolve... The Fallen unit from the Chaos codex has that same rule and a rule that limits morale casualties to maximum one model. So we can guess what the other half of the rule is. Means we are probably getting a pretty "hefty" rule too.
