Doctor Perils
Hello there, and welcome to my Putrid Choir gallery!I started out wanting to create a Death Guard force using the colours of the French soldiers of the first world war, as I thought the theme works very well for Death Guard. Also, I thought I was being clever using a colour scheme that wasn't green or bone...Anyways, I started painting my Dark Imperium chaps up, and ultimately thought there was something missing, so I finally looked up the colour Schemes presented in the new Death Guard codex, and found that the Putrid Choir's scheme was more or less exactly what I was looking for - all I was missing really was a green pauldron. I wasn't intending on getting any more of the Death Guard models then the Dark Imperium Plague Marines (as I wanted to keep focussed on my Shadow Wolves), but the new releases are sexxyy, and the DI Plague Marines were great to paint, so I'm rather conflicted now... Anyway, enough naterring, on to the models! The bases aren't quite finished, but I just wanted to share what I'd got already ;) Brother Chaplain Ryld, Quixus, DeadFingers and 4 others 7 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339736-the-putrid-choir-lord-th%C3%B8rn-edition/ Share on other sites

Doctor Perils
Really awesome Death Guard. I like the Putrid Choir color scheme a lot. Me to! What's more, it's rather simple. The basic blue is: Fenris grey Athonian camoshade in the recesses space wolves grey edge highlighting (old citadel) For more of the recipe, here's a spoiler: Copper: Balthasar gold Agrax earthshade (non-gloss) nihilakh oxyde in the recesses (clean up with more Balthasar gold if you go a bit too far with the Nihilakh oxyde... as I did ^^') Green: Moot green Athonian camoshade Moot green highlights Rust effect: Jokaero orange Boltgun metal heavy drybrush (old citadel) Agrax earthshade (non-gloss) Brown (leather and robes): Zandri Dust Agrax earthshade Ushabti bone (EHs) Purpley-red mutations: Screamer pink Druchii violet warlock purple (old citadel) Blood for the blood god for the bloody sores and stuff Dark green piping: Caliban green Nuln oil (gloss) Apothecary/sorceror's white armour: celestra grey athonian camoshade in the recesses white scar (EHs) Optics and boils'n'stuff: Caliban green Nurgle's rot and I believe that's basically it Edited September 23, 2017 by Lord Thørn Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339736-the-putrid-choir-lord-th%C3%B8rn-edition/#findComment-4893792 Share on other sites
General Strike
Love it, and that really is simple. It is gorgeous and almost ghostly in appearance. Cryptix
I love your OSL, how'd you do it? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339736-the-putrid-choir-lord-th%C3%B8rn-edition/#findComment-4893819 Share on other sites
Doctor Perils
Oh, there isn't really any OSL ^^ - the plasma "effects" were basically Space Wolves Grey, with a hefty amount of Nihilakh oxyde that I made overlap the cowling a bit The "shiny eyes" are only shiny because of the gloss effect Nurgle's Rot paint provides If those are the effects you're talking about, then you're in luck - they were so simple I didn't even dilute those technical paints! Isolia
Really nice! I've taken a much brighter greenish direction on the Putrid Choir but I think this vectorium really fits multiple tones of not-green =) I like the serious, grave ambiance they project on the table!
