Panzer
Turns out they thought all the KoB were dead, but they forgot about that small battle force of about 50 marines that was sent off and got lost in the warp 100 years ago only to reappear right after the devastation of Baal... That definitely works for head canon, but I really really hope they won't do something along those lines for the official fluff. ^^
Damon Nightman
I doubt they will really ever be mentioned again in the official fluff.... at least not much. I think the openness of the lore allows and encourages this type of head cannon... Head Canon justly done mate. And super simple. On another note, I hope that the Carmine Blades get more love as they are a focal point in one of Guy Haley's excerpts. It specifically uses the white helmets as the example. Silas7 and Damon Nightman 2 Back to top

You can expect some surprises from a chapter that for 1k years branded renegades, remained loyalist, was able to fight all alone against all odds and survived. I'm pretty sure that the Knigths of Blood are the kind of chapter to keep some hidden cards in case were the chapter would suffer some serious blow. ---------------------------------------- Also, side note, while speaking of successors : - 8th Tyranids codex state that the Lamenters survived...but as we all already know, suffered serious looses, the kind of the Scythes of the Emperor. Frater Antodeniel
Also, side note, while speaking of successors : - 8th Tyranids codex state that the Lamenters survived...but as we all already know, suffered serious looses, the kind of the Scythes of the Emperor. Last thing I know was that Dante didn't hear any response from the Lamenters so nobody was sure whether they still existed or not. To quote the book : " 'I contacted the Lamenters. They responded unfavourably. If they were of a mind to obey our call, they are too depleted to help us', said Dante. " P.167 ----------------------------- So the Lamenters survived their encounter with Hive Fleet Kraken, yet, following all the informations about them, mostly those found in the previous codexes, barely a company worth of the Lamenters chapter survived at the end. Also, following the chronological order of events, the Lamenters are still undergoing their century-long Penitent Crusade, with only a few years remaining until it end. (Remember that when Dante contacted them, it is in 998M41 and that the Lamenters Crusade began with after the Badab Trial in 908-912M41.) So either the Chapter stay low in order to simply survive for 10 years, or since the 40k Chronology is flawed (as pointed out by Guilliman himself...), it is possible that the Lamenters just ended their crusade, and are currently rebuilding slowly their chapter with new recruits, a slow process in itself. And finally, it is to believe that very few remains of the Chapter war assets such as their battlefleet, with those few concentrated around the defence of their chapter barque....if they didn't ended with just a single Strike Cruiser/Battle Barge remaining... sockwithaticket 1 Back to top

Or no one stuck around to actually see every KoB succumb to the 'nids, they were too busy getting away. Turns out that the KoB fought ferociously enough that a company's worth found the space to get away, unbeknown to any of their non-renegade brethren. To be honest the whole bringing a main chapter to it's knees while killing off a fringe chapter (an interesting one I have a soft spot for, sure, but very much a fringe chapter) feels a lot like seeing the main cast in a TV show get seven bells kicked out of them only for minor support cast to be bumped off for 'impact' (even though everyone knew the main crew would ultimately prevail). KoB disappearing, while not something I welcome at all, is hardly something substantive for the setting. TheRealMcCagh
The Blood Angels were reduced to 50 marines following Space Hulk and Abaddon's seventh Black Crusade on Mackan caused almost the complete destruction of the Chapter (as in, not only being dead, but gene seed desecrated as well). Being nearly annihilated isn't something the BA's haven't recovered from before. sebs_evo7
So take with the desired salt required but my guy at the flgs reckoned the ba codex was listed for a November release. He also said it seemed odd to him because there isn't much of November left and gw is pushing necromunda
Lord_Caerolion
If it was November release, it'd have to go up for pre-order this weekend. We'll have to wait and see.
Pendent
It would be really weird and more than a bit concerning if they just put us up for pre-order without doing any previewing at all. Even the lazier codices like GK or Admech had at least a little bit. Thrown Pommel 1 Back to top
Bremon
Until Tyranids there wasn’t much hype for preorders it didn’t seem. Maybe my memory is failing me but it seemed more like preorder went up and a week of hype trickled out. Not an announcement of an announcement with stuff trickle out up to the preorder. Lord_Caerolion
I seem to remember them doing a slow trickle leading up to putting them on preorder. Ad Mech got told their doctrines the week before preorder, didn't they?
Bremon
That’s quite possible, and makes me sad lol. December 2 or 9 seeming more likely by the day. Thrown Pommel 1 Back to top
Lord_Caerolion
It could be that since we won't receive "Chapter Tactics", or at least multiple ones, they're just going to condense it to a single week of hype.
Brother Crimson
I doubt the codex will come before devastation of baal novel hit the shelf. After all, the events at the battle of baal will shape the storyline for the chapter in 8 th edition.

Sun Reaver
I think there should be a penalty for enemy units to leave combat. That would help BA from having the enemy disengage on their turn and shoot you to smithereens. There is. It's called not being able to shoot and it's kinda a big deal for most armies. ^^Well of course. I meant an additional penalty so the unit has less incentive to leave combat. The whole problem with smaller assault oriented amies is that we charge and either wipe the unit or get stuck. Then the opponent simply disengages and shoots our pretty unit to bits. Maybe like -1 to hit BA units in that scenario or something. Wishful thinking, I know, but still - something along those lines.
Blindhamster
Isn’t that due out before month’s end? Same day as Warhammer 40k open day. 25th of November.
Frater Cornelius
Store owner told me he got a request to send all BA minis back as the BA stock is not selling. Thought that was kinda depressing, but I suppose that makes sense. BA players already have everything and there was little incentive for anyone to buy BA over vanilla. Palwatch
The BA stock going back is the regular squads that come with the upgrade sprew- vans, vets, sterns. They were released with Angels Blade to capitalise on any new players. not surprised they are discontinuing. Thrown Pommel 1 Back to top
Crimson Ghost IX
FLG mentioning new codex inbound on Twitch TV Wednesday. Roughly quoted from the pertinent couple minutes of the video mostly talking about Tyranids, Zombie movies, ITC, LVO and other things and other things and other things: ------------------ " We can't disclose anything, but we will say that you are going to be very excited. Not comfortable saying more than that, but if you are a Blood Angels player you're going to be stoked. Blood Angels you guys are going to be getting what you want I can say that. Keep an eye on warhammer community... " Later in the stream, after being asked in chat about specifics for BA/DA: "We can't obviously give any specifics about BA & DA, but you are gonna be pumped if you are like a dedicated BA/DA player. You are gonna be hyped because you are getting what you hope you are getting. Well I think... because I don't know what you are hoping for (exactly obviously) but will say that much. Get Hyped. Blood Angels and Dark Angels play true to the spirit of the army in my opinion " ---------------- It was also stated BA are before DA for release schedule while talking about something else. (Everybody seems to think so already it seems but thought I would report that too) Anyhow, thought I would share some positive vibes that I heard out there in internet land. I know some of ya don't follow their stuff and might not have seen the comments made. Also figured we are all starving for any info so there ya go folks. Positive Vibes from FLG without any details yet obviously.
