Armchairarbiter
So I am starting a secret Slaanesh project that my gaming group doesn't know about. This gives me some time to really put some good work into converting models that I don't think are quite up to snuff. Thus I am looking for some advice! I also would like to only stick to the GW range of models. I have a list models/units that I would like to convert in some form or fashion, any advice would be appreciated. #1 - Fiends are my #1 model that I think need a conversion. The GW model is growing on me the more I look at it but I think it could be a good conversion opportunity. Currently I am looking at Gryph-Hounds from AOS and somehow finagling a Daemonette body where the head would normally go. I am not sure how that size issue would work though. Otherwise I'm left with the standard spider/daemonette conversion I've seen so far. #2 - Keeper of Secrets - Another older model in the Slaanesh range I would like to convert. My main idea for this is to use a C'tan Deceiver.. I just need some ideas on what to exchange his head with. My ideal was the Sigvald model head atop him but I think it may be too small.Any other ideas are welcome! #3 - Daemon Princes - So I have one conversion down... the Bloodwrack Medusa, for one female DP. My second Daemon Prince I'd like to be male. I feel like this would represent Slaanesh's male/female duality thing pretty well. I do not have the DP model in hand yet so am mainly curious... does it have many Slaanesh options? I'm thinking it shouldn't be a hard thing to make it look Slaaneshi and hyper-masculine. Thanks again to any advice! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343304-slaanesh-conversions-need-help/ Share on other sites
Evil Eye
Ah, a fellow Slaaneshi deviant! Hooray! Here's my thoughts on what to do: Fiends:I'm making Fiends by combining Steeds of Slaanesh with Genestealers and other assorted parts. Here's one of the ones I did, next to the current metal model: http://i.cubeupload.com/2Z3FwL.jpg You will have to do some greenstuffing work, and you will have to fill in the bit below the Genestealer body with something. Here's what I did for this one: http://i.cubeupload.com/cCnmmP.jpg Keeper of Secrets: The problem with the Deceiver is that it's tiny next to the new Greater Daemons. The Bloodthirster, Lord of Change and Great Unclean One are all pretty big and the Deceiver...isn't. I'd recommend going with something a bit bigger. My recommendations for conversion candidates (assuming you didn't want to shell out for the Forge World model) are: >Ghorgon/Cygor. It's about the size of a Greater Daemon, looks very much like the old Rogue Trader KoS, and with some conversion could be made to look wonderfully Slaaneshi. >Vermin Lord. It's quite a lithe, slender model, has some very Slaaneshi looking weapon options, and its head (assuming you didn't replace it with something else altogether) can be made to look like a Fiend of Slaanesh with some conversion/GS. Daemon Prince: The DP kit has some vaguely Slaaneshi parts, notably a very pointy head. That said, it should be easy to convert it to look more the part- just add some Chaos Spawn parts and a bit of Green Stuff here and there and Bob's your uncle. Hope that helps! Logan Storm
The only real good advice I can suggest considering you wish to do Slaanesh based force, but don't feel comfortable with advanced or detailed conversions.....I would recommend that if you decided to kit bash then get the partsyou want and need from E-Bay. It'll be cheaper (as long as you make sure to check the cost for postage and packaging as that's how some tend to screw you over if your not careful) and you will get the individual parts you want and need. As for the Daemon Prince personally am using the the Bloodwrack Medusa as well but removed the part of the pole-arm she's caring, or to be precise the the duel snakes around the twin bladed sword and in it's place use the symbol part from the Icon of Slaanesh from the Seekers of Slaanesh, while replacing the left arm from below the elbow with one of the fancy left pincer arm's from the Alluress from the Seekers of Slaanesh (https://www.games-workshop.com/resources/catalog/product/920x950/99129915005_SeekersSprue3.jpg) . But that's just my own preference. I liked them :) though I am somewhat fine with the Deceiver being smaller because the KOS is smaller rules wise it appears. He has less wounds and costs less points... but maybe what I do is make the Deceiver a Daemon Prince instead! I still really like the idea of using him. Logan - thanks as well for the advice! I am having a really hard time finding the Bloodwrack Medusa as a separate bits to buy on ebay or any of the bits retailers. I definitely know the run around with Ebay. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343304-slaanesh-conversions-need-help/#findComment-4983937 Share on other sites
Lucio
Keeper of Secrets I'd take the limbs from a Cygor and combine with the Aleguzzler Gargant fkr the long, slender legs. The belly needs sawing off and 4 new breasts scultped into place with greenstuff. Armchairarbiter
What do you guys think of this for a KOS? I'm not quite sure how to modify it... he seems like he would be a similar size though no dimensions are given. I could probably green stuff a different head, paint him up purpleish and maybe give him some weapons?
