I don't necessarily see Varvost as falling to the Black Rage - he is ill-tempered and ill-humoured, perhaps. To say he prefers the direct approach is not to make him sound like a mindless berserker - he understands the benefits of stealth and subterfuge, even if they are not his preferred methods of war. He's also very confused (and somewhat frustrated) because he can't work out where the blue team are!

That maybe, just my impressions of him since the get go is that he is flirting with that line... Like he's one bad day away from falling to the black rage.

I think your Vox malfunctioned brother.  I have remedied this using "technical knock".

If possible, can players hold off from updating until I have posted. Ninesword's post has revealed some key details that Atratus especially will quickly become aware of, and I need to resolve them.

Not going to lie, it’s really difficult to write anything that doesn’t give away details.

Yes, this is what made the current pvp set up dragging and a bit turning down a bit - it really lessens the fun of writing these things and I didn't want it to just be walls of text from inside Sabaan's head at the moment. There is plenty of time to mess him up down the line, I hope.

I've certainly learned a few lessons from this experience - I certainly didn't expect it to take as long as it has, and as you mentioned it has shown me the shortcomings of Deathwatch as a PVP experience. The rules seem so tuned towards trying to keep the Astartes alive for as long as possible (through things like the pain suppressants and such) and I didn't anticipate the tanking ability of Space Marines versus their damage output.

It has helped me tune things somewhat for my next combat encounter - but hopefully we can get this bit finished soon!

The door is closed, yes.

A query regarding your post:

Greysight made no attempt at stealth nor credible attempt at attack and the Raptor wondered if it was nothing more than a fresh distraction while Sabaan moved from another direction and for a brief moment feared that his brothers failure to check the other lift would bring a hail of heavy bolter shells upon their backs. But no - there was the red skull, whatever they had planned had either failed or yet eluded him.

Is that meant to say red skull? I'm under the impression Atratus has taken the red skull with him. Is that not the case?

Sorry yes - blue skull. Atratus has the team skull on his belt/webbing/wherever he was able to tie it on a couple of rounds back

Slips - please don't go back and get the heavy weapons! This will get drawn into another four or five turns whilst you go back and get them...

The only reason I'm not having Vaidan call the exercise is that it devalues the effort both sides have put into trying to one-up one another...

Gods, if I had known it would take us this long to just cross the frigging hold, I think I would have gone with another plan :(

But it seemed fun at the time ;)

So, I feel Red Team deserves something for their patience...

Mol, your inbox seems to be full. So I am leaving this here before posting for
