Hi all!

While I am really enjoying both the new pace and first full blown Swordhand/ Blackthorn OP and Interaction, I am sorry to report that our situation at work tanked once again, which means I won't have as much time to actively contribute to the narrative at the moment (again).

:(

I am leaving Sabaan in your capable hands to smite the foes of the Primarch, the Omnissiah and the Emperor (in that Order) and will try to sneak in some stuff as time permits.

Thanks for letting me know, Xin - I will act accordingly to preserve Sabaan's life and slay the enemies of Mankind (in that order!)

A.T., there's not much more I can tell you than what you've previously seen, but I will put up a post today to try to fill you out somewhat.

Thanks to Apologist for the posts recently.

I have done some reorganisation today, trying to clean up the Data-Slate thread to be more of a resource for you. (Moving forward into Episode III, you may well wish to take notes of your own.)

Perhaps the post of most import would be this one, where I have collated the story so far from the last two and a half years(!)

As if it's been that long holy crap. I'm so rusty at this so forgive me it takes 1 full move action to climb the next level do we get to attack aswell? If we can attack I assume we wouldn't be able to fire heavy weapons?

Full Move = full action, no shooting.

Half move = Half action (Up to your Agility BOnus in metres) and may make Standard Attack = half action.

Firing Heavy Weapon = for you it's a missile (hittile/rocket) launcher, which counts as a standard attack

So you could either move 10 metres and not shoot; OR

Move 5 metres and shoot once with your ML.

@ Mol - I take it we can just climb up there with Magboots?  Two free hands?

Also guys, remember you don't need your lights on, as we've all got Darksight.

Suggest heavy weapons cover the assaulters and steadybois, who rush, then cover us as we climb.

MR.

As I envisage it, no - a standard attack is a half action. I imagine you could charge into an adjacent zone. I would like to be permissive rather than restrictive, though. For example, it would be possible to do a half action move, then a semi-auto burst (which includes an optional half action move) to move and fire. With a Heavy weapon like your Missile Launcher, I imagine it's easier to envisage your character having to steady themselves before firing.

With that said, you guys have 27 cohesion and a very large bag of tricks, so I think there may be ways you could get yourselves an additional half-action or other additional benefits - so have fun trying to break the scenario! :)

Re: Mazer's post:

Yes, magboots are fine (and also once you're in the ship, they'll be in use throughout.) You don't need to find handholds.

The abstraction of zones means that half moves are effectively wasted actions, but feel free to include them for your narratives - hiding behind crenellations and outcroppings, taking cover behind statues of long-forgotten saints or in the pock-marks left by Tyranid bio-plasma...

Made the notation that you'll all start in Solo Mode. Remember that once one of you enters Squad Mode successfully, you can each join Squad Mode as a free action.

Varvost managed to roll a 1 and then a 3 for his Initiative - doing well!

Looks like Tyber is going first, as I mentioned I'd like to hold action and go with Varvost into combat... I've seen what happens when charging in solo a few too many times lately... Even Tyber can learn.

There may be a few handy chapter squad modes here. Raptors for reference:

-attack pattern, cost 2 sustained, reroll attack rolls for single shots at long and extreme ranges and (with spotter) ignore range penalties.

-defensive stance, cost 3 reaction, if ambushed escape combat immediately after the surprise round without further attacks.
