As I've written the rules so far (and I will change them if they are ridiculous to the point of destroying suspension of disbelief) the Jump Pack-equipped troops could move to Zone 6 (but this would expose them to being charged.)

I imagine Atratus would probably try to snipe one of the Shrikes, though of course it's up to you.

That's simply because I'm abstracting a combat over a kilometre or so of running battle - I simply can't make a map for it!

I hope it will become clear as we become a little more confident with it. If not, ask me questions. I've left Tyber's actions blank at the moment until you decide. I will update with Shrike 1 after Yeng's actions.

Revision made CM, I'll go with the half move (10m thanks to Jump pack) then fire single shot out of each bolt pistol.

No problem on the distance CM! let me know if my shots actually do miss the target, and I'll adjust everything again.

Remember guys if you have Bolter Drill you can add +1 shot to your Semi-Auto/Full Auto burst.

My Squad Mode gives everyone Bolter Drill for 2 Cohesion and is a free action.

Thoughts?

I like that very much. It looks like Bolter is going to be my mainstay for a bit.

And you'll do well with it.

For default gear it's very good.  With a Tactical Marine's free magazine of special ammo, it's difficult to find a more versatile weapon.  That it starts with a fire selector is brilliant - literally all you could do with it is slap on a gunsight.

As a Tactical, it gets ungodly if you upgrade to Storm Bolter, the talents and skills of Bolter Drill still apply - giving you truly awesome firepower in a compact package that still allows you to take accurate single shots or mow down enemies in a hail of bullets.

Bolt weapons are awesome in this game and it's great to see, for such a trademark weapon - wherein other games you dump your dagger for a +1 longsword asap! :biggrin.:

EDIT: Quick GM Query - how far away are those Gargolyes?  (I understand we're abstracting vertical climbing over a partially digested battleship - I'm thinking of it as an assault course) but I could do with knowing if they're in short range...which is 113 metres due to Kraken.  Cheers.

For those of us melee oriented, I also have access to Storm of Hell as a Squad Mode ability which gives us Frenzy and Furious Assault to everyone in support range as a 3 point sustained but it would take a full action.

I should have bought some flakk missiles!

Drop into Squad Mode with me and get ready to rain body parts.

You did take Unrelenting Devastation, right?

MR.

Urgh no I don't think I did...

I cant see that or Immovable Warrior on my sheet I'll see if the old one is kicking about!

@Mol sleep deprived today but how far did we get spending xp when I was spamming you on emails the other week?

Mazer - you're up next. For this abstracted combat, don't think about range, but rather about zones. It's a -30 to hit (but the Hordes are +40, for an overall +10)

Reyner - I need to check the character sheet and your email, I haven't done it yet as there still seems to be some discrepancies in terms of XP costs for Vorr.

Updated through to Gargoyles C, so Teralil and Montesa next.

Slips: Varvost will certainly try to charge Gargoyles C, up to you if Solastion wants to as well!

I was debating that but Ill probably end up going into Squad Mode to activate Storm of Hell and then on my subsequent Turn charge into the frey with Varvost and Tyber to give them Frenzy and Furious Assaul.

The WS, Str and Tgh bonuses from Frenzy as well as the second free attack with a WS Test from Furious Assault should come in handy with either taking the Shrikes down or mowing through the Hordes faster.

Tyber is going to do gunslinger till he can get stuck in with a Shrike, but he'll be sicking in solo mode... mostly since that lines up to how he has been fighting thus far for the campaign.

You could squad as a free action and declare furious assault (free charge and attack) and then storm of hell as a full action

In both cases it would get Atratus, Varvost, and anyone else who wants to join the charge up into the horde. Atratus can then assassin strike back out to be ready to shoot in his action while Varvost would have his whole turn available to him for multiple attacks.

Expensive on cohesion, but it would make a hell of a mess.

edit: Correction - furious assault only gives the bonus attack on an all out attack, not for multiple attacks or charges.

Up to you, Slips - if you are able to get your actions in I can update tomorrow through to Vorr.

EDIT: Reyner, if you can tell me what you want Vorr to do (I assume fire the Missile Launcher at a Gargoyle Brood) then I can update through to the end of the round.
