we could, possibly just try to bore our way into the voice of thunder through that would probably take some time to drill through ship plating and then turn it into a tunnel fight with the last one in being basically the one stuck taking the brunt of whatever comes after us.

True, but that takes time to work, but those two hordes will be on us in short order and we get no dodges against horde attacks.

AT's squad mode can give us dodges against Hordes...

It's like you read my mind :blush.: ...with my flamethrower and heavy-bolter and Vorr behind me with a missile launcher and combat shotgun...

I can't see us fighting past that lot without getting bogged down, six stealers as well?

@MR

While true that AT's squad mode does give a dodge against a horde, it just feels out of character for Tyber to use squad mode. I mean the one time I did it during the fight on the Voice of Thunder so long ago now, it just feels strange when I go back and look at how he has fought for the rest of the game.

We'll just have to peg it then and hope for the best?

Or we could fire Tyber at the ship - he's got a big tin opener, right?

I'm good with that, it'd be a solid use of a fate point (or three).

Montesa has given you the bulwark ability, allowing you to parry horde attacks (if you have swords.) He will likely also use his Avenger power this round to burn some Tyranids.

You have fought Genestealers before and survived!

All is not lost!

That's the tyrannic veteran ability right? Parry with a penalty equal to have the horde size?

Raptors defensive pattern is to escape from ambushes, unless they changed it in an errata that i'm not aware of.

It was Montesa, not Atratus. My mistake.

EDIT: All the Sqd modes we've already activated stay activated, right?  So we can trip them once per turn without paying the cost again...is that right?

A.T./Mazer - Yes, the Tyrannic War Ability.

If the Squad Mode is Sustained, it remains activated for the rest of the Mission. If it is not, it is active for the rest of the combat.

Slips, the Alpha Shrike has a lashwhip and bonesword, along with a pair of spinefists. Feel free to write up any Narrative you wish as this behemoth ensnares you with its whip. (Or attempts to, should you successfully Fate Point your way out of it.)

Mazer - you're up!

Do any rules buffs know what the "Drain Life" keyword does? I cannot find it in any Deathwatch rulebook, and only found one version (which didn't seem to be the official one) online.

DW: Core, p374

Drain Life: When a victim takes any damage from
a Bonesword, the wielder and victim make an Opposed
Willpower Test. For every degree of success, the Bonesword’s
wielder deals an additional 1d10 points of Damage, ignoring
the victim’s Armour and Toughness Bonus.

Will do an IC post shortly!
