As I mentioned in my email to you - I've told what you what individual cards may or might represent, but not what conjunctions of cards might combine to suggest. That's down to you to interpret.

Should you wish, as per my email, you can make the Invocation test and ask me some limited questions per your DoS.

Blackthorn fighters, I've put up an interim post with initiative values so that the players early in the initiative order can put up actions (and you can attempt to strategise!)

Steel - who would be leading the Demi-Squad? Artemios? Solza?

Apostle:

Generally how I like to do things, is I put the crunch (math and mechanics) in a spoiler tag to prevent it from messing with the flow of the story, I also tend to change the color to 'lime' just to make it clear that it's not the story part of the details.

If you're unsure how to do spoiler tags, [ spoiler] and [/ spoiler] are how you write them, just remove the spaces to make them work.

When it comes to rolling initiative, it's normally your agility bouns (the tens section of your agility stat, likely between 4 and 6) + 1D10, this should land you somewhere between 5 and 16. Some characters, like Tyber, have a talent that makes them act faster in terms of rolling for initiative.

Oh, I've got the game mechannics down I've been playing it off and on again for the last decade or so xD

It's just the forum i'm still getting to grips with

I got it

Having not played RPG before, do we wait for our commander/sub-commander to give us orders or do we just start attacking etc...??

IMO, use your discretion. If you act before your CO/SCO, take action and then you can change your plan if you need to fall in line.

If you're after, I guess respond accordingly.

Case by case basis man :smile.:

Put in my first turn for the for the Demi-squad.

If people don't like my command style being more hands on, lemme know and I can tone it down :)

It's fair enough to assume that your characters will have immediately started the work of dividing up the enemies and dispatching them. Any commands that Artemios may have given on the way in are free actions.

Plus, your characters have the ability to adapt to a swiftly changing situation such as combat.

The only thing I'd take into account is the order in which actions are performed - so if both you and Apostle nominated the same target, and Apostle had already killed it before your turn, I'd have Solza reallocate.

So I rolled an Invocation test to better understand the Tarot results and got the following:

I rolled 38, and with my +10 from my Psy Focus I have a target of 63, so 2 DoS.

Mol said I can use each DoS to ask a question, so I'm going to use those 2 and burn a Fate Point to ask 3 questions:

1. A threat to our mission is a spiteful individual (the Crone) who holds secrets and deceives us (the Inquisitor). Is the threat to us the deceitful individual, or the specific secret that they hold?

2. Related to the same threat, the Young Warrior (representing arrogance, pride and strength) seems to contradict the Inquisitor and the Crone meanings. Does this card refer to a specific, separate individual from the Inquisitor/Crone acting alongside/beneath them or is it the same person? If it's the latter, then this is definitely the threat that I'm most unsure of.

3. Do the Great Host and the Beast refer to the same thing, i.e. are we facing an overwhelming and savage/destructive force of many, or a savage and great individual at the head of an overwhelming force?

It was very difficult to avoid phrasing these as direct questions that would spoil the story, so I tried to make them a bit more vague.

P.S. I couldn't think of a reason why asking these questions would go in the in-character thread as Achillion's musings would happen internally, then he'd offer his interpretation after thinking on it. I didn't really see a reason to make a post that would just equate to "Achillion thinks about the reading", but I will find a way to incorporate his struggle with interpreting the answers in the next post.

Wasn't the beast card reversed, meaning something opposite of savage?

Mojake - are those the questions you want to ask me, or are you planning to build consensus? If so, please let me know when you want me to respond. :)

Petragor: I made a mistake - the Beast is not reversed, but the Hulk is.

Let's give it until 5pm UK time and if nobody puts forth any better suggestions we'll go with those!

I could have cut this down by 1 question if I just replaced the first two with "IS GRIST A THREAT TO US?!"

A little too on the nose though :D

More accurate would be:

Is Grist currently a threat to us?

So the greatest threat is some kind of savage, overwhelming host?

If the Hulk represents something broken/destroyed, then inverted it could mean something becoming united?

Perhaps I'm way, way off... but I'd say that sounds like an Ork Waaagh. (It may just be the use of Beast though, as that often is used to describe the Orks?) Would definitely be something that would concern the DW though...
