netminder69
Does anyone know of any tutorials on how to articulate the fingers on the Thunderstrike Gauntlet? Or better yet, somewhere that sells an aftermarket one with articulation? Venerable Jazzman
A lot of Gundam modellers articulate the fingers, you could try googling for that - there are kits, but they're normally 1:144 scale, so too small for what you need. This might give you a start - http://mxgs.blogspot.com/2010/04/scratchbuilding-fully-articulated-hands.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/347748-thunderstrike-gauntlet-articulation-sources/#findComment-5094213 Share on other sites
Ovidius Incertus
Two years ago I started working on a knight conversion. I got most of it done and painted, but never finished my gauntlet, which was intended to grip a chainsword. Here's as far as I got on one finger before I flitted to another project: My intent is to drill out carefully each knuckle and replace it with plastic rod and thus articulate the fingers as needed. There is plastic rod that is nearly the exact diameter of the knuckles, so scale is pretty spot on with no work. The conversion is actually pretty easy, as far as I can tell thus far, but it's tedious to make sure your drill holes are centered and perpendicular so you don't mess up the "finger bones". netminder69
That’s always my fear which keeps me from doing conversions. Especially with a $150 model.
