@Lord_Ikka Thank you for elaborating !
The new Club feature is a bit hard to find/ access atm and we are still getting the hang of it. I‘d like to point out to everyone that it‘s mostly labeled „private“ to shield the general public from unfinished prose and not to gatekeep anyone.

(We are totally not a cult  )

I see we agree on how the Astral Claws / Tyrant Legion lend themselves to brutal in description and demeanor - which the models convey very well indeed.

On the Corpsetaker  -that‘s a  good question on whether the would use more codex compliant Apothecary colours or should indeed have a sort of specialist insignia / colours.

Never considered that up to now, but it does make a lot of sense.

I‘d argue that initially they might just go with traditional Apothecary trappings, maybe with a specialist badge to denotethem to those „in the know“…maybe a scythe symbol (sheathed with the gene helix or the helix stylizedas the handle ) in reference to their harvester role?
With the Legion being built and expanded outside official Chapter structures, they probably would not need to hide from their own officers and like Techmarines and the Liberius are sort of a cult anyway … if a regular Astartes from the chapter comes into contact with them, they are probably not in the knowing everything about the workings of the regular Apothecaries in detail anyway. So they might just hide in plain sight?

Being visible as an Apothecary might actually be safer for them in the early Badab War also… I‘d reckon that even opposing chapter forces might rather allow them to recover a fallen Brother‘s gene seed if they feel they might not reach him in time before allowing  the geneseed to be lost entirely?

Once the loyalists discover what they’re actually doing, all bets are off anyway…

they‘ll probably pulp anyone related to the Astral Claws / Secessionists getting close to a fallen brother just in case …

That just my two pence anyway.

It in the Clubs section of the site, which you can find through the site menu on the top right.

On the main topic- you are too good! Consistently great looking conversions that really carry a weight of realism and narrative. Always a joy to see a post of yours.

I have found and joined thanks mate, some interesting stuff in there!

Thanks a heap brother, glad to here they've got some realism to it, like I get its a sci-fi fantasy setting, with things that don't work, but trying to leverage some 'realism' to keep the suspension of disbelief going is always at the core of my works!

Whipped up a huge banner for the dude last night, will attempt to get a pic soon!

Hey Ikka, have joined the club and am currently subsuming my way through it!

Yeah I always feel Astral Claws (at least at the start) where very gruff, no bull:cuss: sort of guys that where probably less appreciative of their lessers than they should be. But also by the time of the late badab war/fall I reckon there would be heavy analogues between them and the fall of the Third Reich. Rediculous titles, awards and medals given out, command of areas that are already lost given to people to sure up loyalty etc. A lot of circle-jerking propaganda :cuss:, all the while giving rifles to the elderly and kids and saying 'yeah go..go fight that human-shaped tank bearing down on you'. So very dark by the end.

Oh initially I think it wouldn't have been an issue with them being in normal apothecary garb, but I'll be doing this army as pretty late war and I imagine by that point in time anything with an iota of white on it would have been target number one from any loyalist forces just as a matter of spite and principle, which..to be fair, is pretty understandable.

Another upside I find with the Astral Claws and peoples takes on them is they are 30k legion-esque in the sense that there where so many parts to the chapter by the end of the war that just about any head-canon that doesn't dick with the main characters too much could easily exist side by side. One Astartes attached to the 23rd Tyrant's Legion would have a very differnt outlook and view of the war than a Retaliator on the Seraph of Judgement for instance.

But more Astral Claws (and Badab) fluff and thoughts in general, the better!

The Apothecary's head is a really nice piece, I like the reasoning behind the cape too, I can very much imagine him not wanting to reveal his role to the enemy!

The Retaliator veteran is ace, the power fist details are very nice.
