Since my vectorium is still slowly shambling from boxes on my shelves into actual painted plastic form, a Kill Team seems like the perfect starting point for them. I'm very interested in the effectiveness of all-plaguemarine teams, not being a fan of poxwalkers (which don't really fit th theme I'm going for, either).

I like the look of the list @Flint&Steel has. I'd like to run something similar to that; will I suffer for not taking poxwalkers to bulk out my numbers?

The only issue with all marine teams is the cost per model plus wargear means you will be maxed at 5 bodies most times. That 5th marine could be 6-8 poxwalkers. Thats double the body count, allowing for better board control, more wounds before break checks, etc. Seriously, while it is perfectly viable to run an all marine list I cannot see any good reason to do so.

Got 2nd at another event and with continued play I am pretty sure my set roster is

Champ - Fist, Bolter, Leader

Fighter - Flail, Combat (vs other hordes)

Fighter - Cleaver, Combat (vs anything multi wound or high T)

Gunner - Launcher, Demo

Gunner - Spewer, Heavy

8 x Pox

My DG Killteam is currently 3-0 in my tourney and hasn't lost a single unit. I've taken out a Slaaneshi warband, Ultramarines, and most recently a Deathwatch killteam. The Death Watch were the only ones that worried me. Disgustingly Resilient is awesome!

So what do you guys think of the elite additions to the DG lineup? I am a bit disappointed, because of the huge point cost involved. And there is nothing a Blightlord can do, that two properly equipped Plague marines cant. The Deathshrouds are ok I think, as they can tackle even Commander level models, but still more expensive than many Commanders themself.

Disappointed by the huge point cost? What did you expect from something that's called "Elites"?

Also I disagree about the Blightlord. Sv2+/4++ is huge in a game where you don't face whole units of Plasma and such. Especially with the long range and obscured penalties on top of it.

Well, it seems "Elite" means being in the 25-35 point cost range if I look at similar models. I do not compare them to the other faction termies, that doesn`t work. But I think that a single Blightlord does not offer the same options two Plague marines + probably a few Poxwalkers bring to the table. The model count drops to much.

Is anyone still playing their DG in Kill Team ?  Are the Elites worth the investment in the rule book or best go all out for all the data cards etc?

I’m still using them mate but not played any elite games yet so I can’t help you there I’m afraid.

This was the list I used last night in my 3 way game against Eldar and Grey Knights

Hey, thank you for the update to my post - much appreciated ! :)

I'm festooned trying to paint up my heresy DG for the L&T at the moment, but this gives me a little something to work towards once I'm finished.  Just having an idea on what models I can use will give me a great excuse to pick them out, build them and put some paint to them.  I went ahead and picked up a flail terminator model as an individual purchase just in case, but I still need to grab some flails for basic PM conversions.

Has anyone run a team with a meltagun? Wouldn’t mind hearing how it plays if so before I use one potentially.

A meltagun is like a pistol that you can't shoot with in melee.

And I already hate pistols for being a useless range.

In a game where you have to choose between charging and shooting, 6 inch short range guns are not very useful in my opinion. You will either want to charge or get charged before you get to shoot.
