Thanks a lot guys!

Loving the terrain you’re building! You’ve inspired me to look into doing the same.

I love building stuff and mixing with various components. Definitely have a go and show us what you come up with!

Do you ever draw maps of cities or forts? I've been doing that since I was a kid.

I have been doing that as well, a lot when I was a kid, much less nowadays. But I am still drawing maps or sketches for various things, sometimes even in excel or powerpoint.

Yeah, the shrine is pretty sweet. Even with the toothpicks.

They definitely can be improved :biggrin.:

I should probably stop building this week and get started with painting.

In the meantime, I played a bit more with the manufactorum set.

Well, don't hesitate to steal these ideas. Give it a go!

You just need to be precise and have the right tools: a good ruler, a good square and a good compass. Then it is just cardboard, foamboard, some plasticard (to hide the imperfect cuts at the corners), and civitas imperialis and manufactorum imperialis components, plus various things like bottle caps, Nutella caps, … which here happened to have a nice size and don't require much work.

A bit more progress building scenery (I should really really start painting all of that ...).

Using pine bark to "dress" the styrofoam and turn it into a mountain :biggrin.:

Slowly starting to take shape … (still a lot to do)

More soon :teehee:

I'm waiting for an opportunity window. At the moment, my wife is working from home and I am not allowed to repaint the company car which is staying inside the garage. Maintenance work on the car is scheduled for next week, so I'll likely have 1 to 2 hours top to basecoat my stuff. That of course unless we are hit with a wide quarantine ... Fingers crossed ...

In the meantime, I'm trying to finish the scenery I have started, still a lot of detailing work required but slowly getting where I want to be. 30+ days left to complete my vow ...

So, more progress to report: more pine bark added to the sides of the mountain, more structures, a landing pad, … At the very top, I made a large platform including 3 2x2 areas where I can add taller buildings, spires, statues, cranes, … or which I can simply leave as platforms.

Thanks guys!

What dimension is the "grid" on the styrene sheet you've used for the stairs?

They are 2x2mm (http://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/textured-sheets/158-ABS-Plasticard-Small-Squares-Textured-Sheet-A4.html)

A behind the scenes look at some of the platforms I made: I used foamboard and cardboard to get to the exact height needed

Thanks guys!

Cork bark would even be better but it is more expensive and I have this 70L bag of pine bark I bought for about 7.5€ a while ago just for basing and scenery, I "need" to use it :biggrin.:

Next days hopefully I'll start really painting my stuff. I think the next days/weeks will allow me to tackle some of my grey pile of shame. Hopefully I don't run out of supplies because I think they will become harder to get as the economy slowly stops. We are expecting full scale quarantine to be announced very soon and I expect quite a bit of disruption into international shipments. Anyway, I'll continue updating my thread.

My wife and her son went on a resupply trip today, so I seized the opportunity and quickly sprayed a bunch of scenery. Less than 45 minutes for setting things up, spraying in two batches and then clearing the garage of all my stuff, finishing just 1 minute before they came back. When she got out of the car she said "You painted", the lingering smell made denying it impossible, I did not even tried :biggrin.: I emptied the Zandri Dust can, I have one remaining, so I'm good for the time being.

Next step is to brush more Zandri Dust on these to get to a good base.

Well, non-essential movements are banned as of tomorrow at 12 noon. I guess I won't be able to replenish my stock of spray cans … Glad I have bought a few different ones and more paints over the last few months … No news from my job interview of last month, not expecting to hear anything before quite some time. In another hobby of mine (tribal art), I won two lots during auctions in France, all is paid and I was just waiting for confirmation of dispatch and tracking numbers but I got messages saying that until further notice, no shipments would take place. I ordered some bits from the UK last week, now unsure if they will get delivered in the coming days or if I'll have to wait for a long time. Strange days … but I understand the situation and I wish everyone to stay safe.

The good point is that I have plenty of stuff to paint so I should be able to make some progress there, and as I don't want to become a mindless servitor, you can definitely expect some progress :biggrin.:

If I were sure I get them delivered, I would likely order some more spray cans. That is where my inventory is quite low. This said, I can probably last a few weeks with what I have (knowing I don't spray paint that often).

I have some more AT stuff, knights are undercoated but unpainted so this will likely be on the menu, otherwise I have some Chaos stuff, incl. Nurgle blightlord termies, very appropriate right now ... or more scenery, plenty to choose from, too much actually :biggrin.:
