What do you like about Primaris?

I have a good idea who it was .

Tell him I meant no harm, but I won't learn from any faux pas if I don't even notice it was one in the first place ;)

Oh yeah, another good thing about Primaris: you can use old shoulder pads. So the Deathwatch ones with the Chapter emblems fit as well. Good news for people like me who can't really do a freehand logo they're happy with on one, let alone dozens of minis.

And that reminds me, there's a dedicated DA Primaris model, a SW one and now the new Calgary for the UMs... they're starting to add chapter flavor already while still keeping the rules consistent.

I love many things about the Primaris. While I will admit to being somewhat frustrated with how the lore with them is being developed. But this is honestly a minor gripe and I believe what they bring far outweighs my frustrations.

Firstly, I really enjoy the fresh start that they represent. They are refreshing. I have been enjoying Space Marines for 20 years or so and while my enjoyment of them was in no danger of disappearing, I thought I knew all I was ever going to know. It was stagnate and I accepted that for a long time. It's so cool that this line dropped when I was getting my four boys into miniature wargaming. Now instead of just going over the things I already new about my favorite faction, I am discovering new things with them. I cannot put into words how fun that is for me. It's been great building this new army right along side them. I feel like a kid again discovering Space Marines. Sharing this time in the hobby with my boys has created the best moments in my gaming life. Side note I let them pick their own chapters and they all are painting Blood Angels... I have failed as a father!

I also love that the Primaris are updating the Space Marines. I think units like the Repulsor and the Inceptors are so freaking cool. I feel the Inceptors are this sweet assault marine/land speeder hybrid that take a page from Starship Troopers (the book). The Repulsor is what a space marine vehicle should be! Drop that sucker from orbit and move and support the elite super human infantry into battle.

Intercessors look great. I couldn't go back to regular tacticals now that Intercessors are a reality. This is what space marines should look like. Hellblasters are a favorite as well. I think Aggressors as uparmored space marines hit the spot for me as well and Rievers are growing on me, they look even better with a simple head swap.

Primaris have me excited for the future of this line. Terminators, Breachers, and more, my imagination is full of what could be.

The thing I love most about PriMarneus is that he heralds the move of all Space Marines to Primaris. One day we will have Primaris Characters, Terminators, Tacticals, Crusaders, Vanguard...

Once everything is Primaris, nothing is Primaris. And on that sweet, joyous day, I can finally just use my OldMarines as counts-as Primaris of their respective flavours, and at long last, have offical rules 2W/2A Space Marines.

Praise be to the God-Emperor.

I love this man.

I mainly like how large they are compared to humans. Like, there's a reason why I'm using them for making "True Scale" Marines for Inq28, as they fit the massive size difference between a human and an Astartes.

The redemptor is also awesome and needs to be posed correctly. Unfortunately almost every redemptor I have seen hasn't been done so (even from GW) which makes people think it's boxy/fat and not in proportion. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I posed mine in a way that makes it look way more in proportion and menacing. (Twist the torso, spread the arms out to make it look like he is bracing to fire, plant feet firmly on the ground etc..)

There's a reason why this is my favorite picture of the Redemptor:

It actually manages to NOT look, as you say the common complaint is, out of proportion and boxy/fat.

I have to say, I hope we never get conventional bikes again as I do think they are a really silly marine unit, and even when biker captains and biker command squads were the hottest unit on the tabletop I couldn't bring myself to field them.

Hover bikes make a lot more sense as something that might function lol, even though they are purely sci-fi

Honestly I'm against hover bikes too.

The bikes were always dumb looking to me in concept. It's like I know the Imperium has magical infinite resources and all that, but the ideal is to get marines in close combat fast with a fast skirmishing unit to start or finish a fight (like with asm). The Primaris Crisis suits do all the same things and I don't want to go back to having a bike like object. I think the white scars bit was invented long ago when they were like "well ravenguard, blood angels and nightlords are all jump pack heavy chapters, maybe we should do something different? Hey jaghati was Ghengis Khan in space, let's have him ride a motorcycle in space! And the white scars will be a rampaging horde of bikers in space! BRILLIANT! Let's go to the pub!"

Primaris are too big for conventional bikes- what they need are tricycles. :P

Intercessors are great, and the concept of reivers seems pretty appealing. Not a fan of how chunky much of the rest of the new range looks, all those centurions and aggressors and the ugly hover tank look like they've been drinking gravy.

I mean. you laugh, but a marine-styled trike would look AWESOME

I mean, GW and Forge World has shown they can make some badass looking Trikes, but they're both for orks

Ugh no trikes or bikes, I think they look ridiculous. Grav bikes all the way - which is exactly one of the things I like about Primaris. Gives them a sort of elite feel.

I also love the look of the intercessors and the larger scale - I really hope GW now ensure that some semblance of scale is now kept i.e. humans are not bigger than marines etc.

I like how they look.  Beefy bikes for beefy bikers :laugh.:  Just a shame you can't load them out as real punchy units like we used to.

Edit- deleted wrong question for wrong thread :laugh.:

they squat like their kine.

I have never seen a cow squat like that.

was a little rushed on my spelling. Don't got out much i take it.
Why, are the bovines in your area commonly squatting?

And is your only reaction really to ask if I get out much? You don't even find it a little funny that you happened to write 'kine'? Well alright, Mr. Serious ;)

And what did you actually mean?

I still have no clue what you were trying to say, but since it was such a low effort post with no context to speak of, the prudent thing to do was speculate wildly ;)

Would love to get more kneeling or crouching units in motion now that you bring up squatting lol

Primaris would be the perfect platform for a new box of Scouts... squatting ones with cloaks and faces that don't look like... I don't even know what horrible thing the present Scouts look like. Maybe they're their very own ugly thing?

But with the proportions of the Primaris models, Scouts might get the facelift they so desperately need.

They might be S4T4 Scouts though... dunno what to think about that.

They'd get an updated look, nothing more.
