Lord Janos
Hiya folks, A friend and I are in the midst of planning a narrative campaign between my Death Guard and his Dark Angels and it's given me the spurt of enthusiasm I've needed to get back actually doing stuff. As such, I thought I'd start something on here as a way to track my progress/motivate me to keep going. So without further ado let me introduce you to The Reaper's Sons, who hail from the Second Plague Company. Squad Marrus Squad Crugon Squad Purigos (Plague Marines) The Olethoptoi (Blightlord Terminators) Some close ups of what I've done with the FW pads so far Brother Noxis (Helbrute) Deathshroud Durenthal, The twice blighted (Malignant Plaguecaster) Vestus Eshall, (Tallyman) Vuroth, (Plague Surgeon) Kurgath The Executioner, Lord of the Reaper's Sons (and his Original incarnation) Brother Karkinos Plagueburst Crawler Predator Blight Haulers Foetid Bloat Drone Rhinos As you can see everything is in varying degrees of completion as apparently I'm unable to complete something before starting something else! There are also 20-30 poxwalkers and Ive got 40 of the discontinued Renegades torso to make cultists too at some point. Hope you enjoy and I should be posting updates shortly. Kor Dalron
Quite a big start! But it already looks good and quite promising! I know the pain of just continuing to pick up new amazing things and not completing the prior one´s but there´s hoping that one can change his ways Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353209-the-reapers-sons/#findComment-5237047 Share on other sites
Bjorn Firewalker
Good work on painting and assembling the models. How will you decorate the Marines' bases? Lord Janos
Thanks guys. Good work on painting and assembling the models. How will you decorate the Marines' bases? Going for a Toxic Swamp kind of look, probably easiest to see on the Helbrute or the DI Lord of Contagion. Quite a big start! But it already looks good and quite promising! I know the pain of just continuing to pick up new amazing things and not completing the prior one´s but there´s hoping that one can change his ways ;) Yeh, when I was taking the pictures I was thinking that I'd got alot more than I remembered. I also realised that it's been about a year since I first started making the DG stuff from Dark Imperium (oddly enough while I was off work sick, clearly the Grandfather had plans for me...). Wasn't planning on it, unless that's a reference to something i'm not getting :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353209-the-reapers-sons/#findComment-5237280 Share on other sites
Lord Janos
Just a bit of an update to show some progression my Noxious Blightbringer. Also some close ups of Squad Purigos My brain has also decided that I need to make things more expensive for myself by adding more of the FW upgrades to stuff. Im really happy with how these and the couple of Blightlords I've used them on have turned out. Lord Janos
A little bit more progress after what has been a stupidly busy week. A bit more progress on the Noxious Blightbringer. He's really starting to come along quite nicely now. A bit more progress on Kurgath the Executioner, my Lord of Contagion. Lord Janos
Hey folks, after a busy few weeks Ive got a bit more progress to share. Got a 200ish PL game coming up in March which I'm prepping for by actually getting my cultists sorted. I'm using the now discontinued Renegade Militia torsos which i snapped up before they went oop, and I've really enjoyed messing around with them so far. I wanted to go for a more renegade guard look for a couple of reasons 1) The renegade Militia sculpts were really cool and it provided me with an excuse to get them (an in a similar fashion to adding FW shoulder pads to my plague marines making things more expensive for myself :P ) 2) From a more narrative standpoint I wanted to have a more regular force to accompany my Death Guard a la the Blood pact from the Gaunts Ghosts books but with a more nurgle bent. Behold the armless bodies in all their glory Whilst rummaging through the bits box i found a catachan vox unit, so i figured why not clip the canisters off the back of one of the cultists and make him carry it! Assembled Squad Champion And flamer Whilst i could have left them with lasguns i figured it would be cool to actually show them with the autoguns they have in the cultist datasheet. Ive basically cut off the tips of the barrels and the power pack and glued on some of the ammo feeds from the chaos space marine set. Whilst looking through these looks like there is still some Imperial iconography that I've missed as well... *picks up scalpel And this is what Ive got left to work through, though I only need 20 for the upcoming game so ill probably stop work on them there for the minute.
