Doom of Molech supplement discussion

Did they give any information on the Knight Households? Which ones are getting rules, etc.?

The new stratagem cards have some generic rules and some household specific ones. They very briefly mentioned a couple, with House Devine receiving a bit more attention than others. I think they mentioned 5-6 different houses. I don't remember the specifics. Households not covered in the Doom of Molech supplement would receive stratagem cards at a later stage.

Eager to see what is in store.

I get the strong impression we're only getting color plates and probably rules for just the Molech Knight Houses... even the one that supposedly only had 6 armors. They're all loyalists besides Devine, too. Hope I'm wrong, though.

As an aside, the color scheme of House Mamaragon is seriously hot. Crucius is beautiful, too. They have a bit of orange as a spot color, now.

No, unfortunately. He described their color scheme as black panels with some white flames. Red trim instead of the usual gold or silver.

Heellloooooooo Interfector

edit to avoid reposting: I did my own watch of the stream and took a bunch of notes. I think I have everything remotely interesting not already covered by the wonderful Mendi Warrior and Sherrypie, or I took a note if it seemed to matter how they said something, or if I just thought something was worth reiterating.

Fortidus - Marbled white & rusty brown
Vulcanum I/II - Two schemes, the second being a development of the other. I is black/jade green, with II having more green elements
Interfector - rules are Creeping Madness and Dark Embrace, some results on table are Raving Madman and Dark Fanatic. Black panels with red banding, and occasional white flame heraldry. I'm not sure if Andy knew about the 6th ed. rulebook appearance of Interfector where they're red/bronze? But that wasn't a very exciting scheme (IMO) so whatevs

Fortis Maniple - Titanic Fortress; marching together in lockstep, protecting each other
Ferrox Light Maniple - Knife Fighters; “shiving people in back alleys”

Battle of Molech and House Devine were actually ‘seeded’ in an old WD article written by Gav Thorpe

The wobbly bands on the House Devine color plate indicate the bearer has taken a wound in service. Andy Hoare implied that on the path Devine is on, it could be self-inflicted

FAQ next month. Includes Titandeath & Molech Knight updates
Knights will now be able to make Smash attacks against units with smaller scale (obviously Cerastus vs Questoris, but may imply something < Questoris is coming?)

Devine stratagems - Treacherous Whispers and Bitter Competition
Donar - Adamantium Stance
Indra - Rally to the High King
Kaushik - Strength of One and Ionic Overload (Kaushik are one of Andy’s favorites)
Mamaragon - From the Storm
Tazkhar - Duellist’s Challenge

“When am I going to get one of these for House Taranis??” - “We’ll do all of them eventually,” will show up in relevant books, WD & the web

Vornherr theme is 19th century Prussian nobility, if anyone was wondering

House Donar is the black and gold scheme shown on WHC

Indra home is swampy area of Molech & scheme is a swampy green & yellow

Donar Knightly Qualities - Guardian Preceptor, Kush Veteran, Beast Killer

House Kaska - known for being fond of the ale…. notoriously arrogant drunkard hunters. Symbol is a beast’s skull with a grape cluster. Their KQs include Drunken Lord, Lord of Rain and Ruin, Scion of the Storm. Blue & silver colors.

Kaushik - KQs are Stone Blind, Iron of the Earth, Hardened Soul

Mamaragon - good at fighting underwater, defend oceanic regions. Jagged pattern refers to WWII naval dazzle patterns on ships. “I’m sure it will be a delight to paint” - Andy

Tazkhar - Andy’s favorite of the book. steppe nomads who travel in caravans of Knights. Seneschals constantly challenge each other for leadership (outside of their Knight suits). KQs are Dervish Lords, Vizier of Blades, “Kari?” Savage

“All of these Households do fight throughout the Horus Heresy”

Campaigns can cover “what happens next” on Molech, as the Warmaster basically abandoned the planet and what followed was never elaborated on.

Devine will probably have transfers on a Titan Legion sheet. Maybe two Knight House sheets (Loyalist/Traitors) at some point.

Industrial buildings - “That would be a good idea wouldn’t it. I’d keep my eye out for that one.” - Andy

The presenter of the AT game following the interview is a newer Specialist Games hire who has taken the lead on play testing and putting together FAQs

I hear you :( I wanted Hyboras plates... I squinted really hard and maybe the Fortis maniple uses Vulpa plates, though! I can hope...

Two more things I'm remembering that I didn't note:

Andy said Devine was the only Traitor out of the 7... On Molech. He seemed to imply offworld elements of a few of these went Traitor (I'm looking at you Donar), or maybe went mad after the Warmaster left.

Donar also has some marbled green in its scheme, though it's hard to tell from the WHC pic. They just look all black there.

Oh, I took pics of everything, including scenarios, fluff, etc. I'll try to upload it to imgur later tonight.

Thanks for the screengrabs!

Disappointing if perhaps not that surprising that it's the knight houses of Molech getting the attention. Like, it's nice to see that they're doing a deep dive, going beyond the 'one world, one culture' trope, and those snippets/schemes look good but disappointing in that no one playing AT is likely to have already chosen any of these houses (besides Devine) for their forces. Rules and such for Malinax, Aerthegn, Vyronii or any of the other houses they've already pushed would surely appeal to a broader player base.

I like the idea of Crucius as obsessive civil war preppers though.:smile.:

Can we take anything from the inclusion of a cerastus acheron illustration? I know the art predates AT and don't have my copy of Titandeath to see if it popped up there but maybe this suggests another cerastus kit sooner rather than later?

From my understanding, aside from Vyronii, the Houses introduced so far are different from the Mechanicum Houses or the Quaestoris Houses. Houses that serve under the command of the Titan Legions are better equipped than Quaestoris, but lack their autonomy. The Houses of the Mechanicum are the best equipped but have zero autonomy.

  • 3 weeks later...

We still have no news on when this supplement is dropping right? Seems like there was nothing in the April WD and I'm guessing May's is going to be full of new Chaos stuff? I'm getting impatient! I want that FAQ, Interfector color plates and new stratagems :P They did say the FAQ would be this month though, so maybe we'll see pre-orders in the last week of the month? Fingers crossed...

Speaking of those new stratagems, I completely missed Overcharged Cannon from the screenshots I took. Dang... a Warhound with a S12 plasma blastgun and a +2 squadron bonus via a Lupercal maniple is a scary thought. That's definitely asking to be targeted by thermal mines or something, though that might be a good time for Solaria's leg auto-repair equipment to actually shine.

if your house doesn't have rules just use those from another one

^this

Devine's probably going to be a good base for any exceptionally cruel house (like maybe Aerthegn or maybe Atrax or Morbidia), while some like Kaushik would be good to represent hardy houses like Makabius or perhaps Col'Khak or whatever you feel fits until those House's rules do arrive

yeah, there hasn't been anything on any of the stuff that got revealed at the HH Weekender for months now, I understand that releases need to be spaced out, but the resin weapons from FW should have gotten something by now, sense those at least already have had rules sense the game came out... goodness AT's biggest flaw is how poorly that launch was handled, it took them like two months just to get the 3 basic Titan classes released, and even them like half their weapon options are still missing... If GW really cares about not loosing customers to 3rd party bits sellers or 3D printers they're failing miserably.

Sadly the weapons at the open day were mostly CAD images, so months from distribution.

I thought there were models in display cases? at least the Warlord's Quake Cannon.

There were quake cannons in the cabinet, and I think gatlings too. The carapace weapons for reaver and warlord were 3d renders. However, I can imagine them holding off to release everything together.

FW likes to do releases for one game for a few weeks, then another. Right now they are busy pushing out stuff for malevolence (the first 30k book I'm not going to buy, since I haven't played a game since 8th dropped). They also have blood bowl and necromunca. The odd thing is that they've actually never released anything for AT yet through the FW site, it's all been from GW, so I'm not too sure how they'll do it. Probably nothing all that weird though.

When we do get Molech and the new guns I'm pretty keen to try out experimental weapons on gatling guns. It doesn't really matter whether it goes on the arm or carapace weapon. Stacking the overcharged cannons upgrade on top will either give 6 shots at S11 or 12 at S9, either of which should make an impression!

Yeah.

The Quake and the Gatlings for the warlord were. So maybe they will be out soon... They have but out the game bords for AT. I dont know I get the feeling we will be waiting for longer that we expect.

Oooo, I hadn't seen that angle before, I like the heraldic shield looking design on the Quake Cannon's side armor.
