Successors of any colour are fine, before now we've even had blue or purple Marines pledged to our cause.

What matters is they are pointed from our Codex and blatantly not something that belongs elsewhere (no Sanguinius as The Sanguinor for example).

Don't tempt me to throw my Emperor's Spears in this ETL as counts as BA.

(I wouldn't do it.)

Emperor's Spears would count as Index so you'd need a good excuse to pledge them over here - so best leave them out and paint them another day... red

 Fixed your typo, Jole

30k dawnbreakers could very easily be vanguard veterans with 2x swords.

My summer is already pretty full up, and I have my usual month away from my models in the middle, cutting ETL down to 8 weeks for me. I'll do a tot up of my current points in my plog, but I can't see myself smashing things this year.

Dual sword VAS would look amazing tbh...

As for the vacation, I was expecting you to have one, hence my querying :p By all means folks, take this sort of thing into account with your plans! School holidays start mid-July after all :ermm::unsure.::facepalm:

I love them really

Still no idea when it will start yet? May 15th?

My bet would be May 17th-20th...

It wont be before the 15th as it traditionally is on that date when it's not on the 1st. However, if it surpasses that date (and sadly, there is a chance) we're all completely in the dark. Just get dug in before then: after all, we knew when the Tyranid threat would hit Baal but the warp can delay things...

On mobile so cant get the links done properly but theres a roughtimate of my prepped units ready to go. 1 squad of intercessors has been started too much to go into etl vows tho

fixed the code and that's looking great  It's a great amount to have ready - just need to undercoat them? Bulk paint, or split them up?

Trying to figure out how I can join in? :ermm:

I got a few models lying around that I need to finish (as well as some that I still need to pick up) for an upcoming tourney. And some that I got as a gift from a buddy that I want to paint up.

So far ive got to paint: Librarian dreadnought, slamguinius, terminator ancient with thunderhammer, 3 lietenants with different wargear. And I still need to get 3 Inceptors and assemble 5 jump pack assault marines with 2 plasmaguns.

It would be amazing to have you with us Demoulius and it's really easy to join in the campaign!

Once the event begins (no sooner than the 15th May), a thread entitled "+++Blood Angels Outpost+++" or similar will appear for you to pledge your vow(s). The starting point needs to be no more than undercoated - I undercoat my red marines with white paint, so that's my starting point, others undercoat with red spray, so that's theirs. Either way, any more than that is iffy and will need ratifying - so basically, get what you think you can do in three months to whatever your starting point is and await the commencement of the ETL VII! :)

Right, if it stays as three months, I'l go for the space marine side of ShadowSpear, see if I can re-catch the BA bug.

It will always* be three months, with sign ups permitted in the first month only. How many models are in ShadowSpear again?

*This may change but it would be a safe bet imo

Basic it's 19 (10 dudes, 2 squads of 3 specialists, 3 characters), but I picked up an extra 3 Suppressors so I'm looking at 828 points of 22 guys. If I make good progress I have the Reivers, Redemptor and aggresssors from tooth and Claw too....

Redemptor is undercoated, so its mainly the more recent characters who need sorting now (and a captain smash not appearing in this picture).

First vow will be 1500ish poitns of characters and then we'll see how much more time is available - I have a pair of stormravens still on sprues and a LRC i never got past undercoating for my Lamentors which ought to be fairly quick to crank out if i borrow an airgun kit from a friend so i have various options available depending on time remaining. I'll probably try to paint a pair of Lt's each time and/or a single character to my usual standard of 'done' (though i still tinker with old models from 10+ years ago).

Thanks for clearing that up :) I assembled the assault marines that I talked about in my earlier post this afternoon. I also got a boat load of models lying around that I want to paint sooner or later. Guess il paint them sooner :biggrin.:

Just in case anyone is reading this and wondering, yes it's fine to do both Blood Angels and a Successor chapter in a subsequent (or even the same) vow. Basically, as they all use our Codex and rules, they are fair game.

So if anyone fancies doing a Malakim Phoros kitbash, now's the time!

It would be really nice to see some RAS painted, sadly they are getting left behind this edition :( As for the advice, if you don't ask, you don't know so don't worry about it. Should have put something similar in the OP :blush.::blush.:

Ha, found Trello app for managing little projects. Guess I have too much free time atm :teehee:

Thats what i did as well :tongue.:

Haha, well if it works for you both then great :tu:

What other things are good about it? Why should we look into it, etc, etc?

Something else that should probably be in the OP :blush.::blush.:

Q: How do I post pics in a thread?
A: Well, there are many ways to do that: If you have already uploaded it in an image-hosting site, you can copy the image address and then paste it straight to your post using the “image” tool at the menu of your post editor.

However, we always recommend you use the B&C gallery. If you’re not familiar with this feature, you can find a quick walkthrough below. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions.

Uploading pictures from your PC/mobile to the B&C Gallery
Step 1: Go to Gallery. The link to the Gallery can be found in the drop down menu adjacent to your name on the B&C home page. If you're using a mobile device, switch to the full version of the website using the tab at the bottom left of your screen.
Step 2: Once in the Gallery click on the red “upload” button that can be found on the top side
Step 3: You get the option the either create a new album or select an existing album or select category. Assuming you’re a first time user of this feature click on “Create a New Album”
Step 4: Name your Album (e.g. GBBO 19) and if you want you may add a description (e.g. miniatures painted for the 2019 GBBO event). You may then assign it to a specific category to reflect the theme of the content or just leave it at the default “The Bolter & Chainsword”. You can further customise this by allowing/disallowing comments and/or ratings.
Step 5: Once you’ve created the album you may start uploading the pictures from your PC. To do that you click on “Choose File” button and then select the pics you want to upload from your PC. Make double sure that the pics a B&C appropriate.
Step 6: Once the pics are uploaded, click on the “Review & Publish” button located at the bottom right of the screen. Here, for each picture, you can add tags, rotate the image add a tittle and a description. Once you’re happy with it, click the “Finish and Publish” button at the bottom of the screen. The pictures are uploaded to your gallery!

Posting picture from your gallery to a thread
Step 1: Go to your gallery and select the album that contains the pics you want to post (e.g. RTS 18)
Step 2: Select the picture you want and double-click on it so it will become enlarged. By right-clicking on it you will be offered the option to select size. The options are “Thumbnail”, “Small”, “Medium”, “Large”. Select the size you want (e.g. “Medium”).
Step 3: You then can copy the image straight (or copy the image address) and paste it in your post (or use the the image function in your post editor to paste the image address). Now you should have your picture visible in your post.

If they would drop in points I would be on this so fast! But as it stands Bikes > RAS and in love bikes...

Haha, well if it works for you both then great

Well, I've never used it before, but I would like to take advantage of the pre-defined checklist. I do remember (especially from the June grind) that it was sometimes difficult to remember what still needed to be done and in what order when I got a moment to sit down to painting. Hope this will help.

I’ve build my second redemptor dreadnought ready to paint

Magnetising? Also, what are you undercoating with?
Yep magnetised, I’ll be undercoating red when it starts
Cool :tu: don't forget to pledge the choice which is most in points!

Would you say (dreads) are easy to do compared to tanks or Troops?

Personally, on a point for point basis, I find vehicles 10x faster than infantry, both due to level of detail and motivation.

I can knock out a Predator chassis vehicle (150pts?) in a weekend or less while 10 tactical marines will take a month.

Dreads, being boxy, fit into the same category as the tanks, large flat armour panels, or metal bitz that need leadbelcher and a wash to look good.
