TrawlingCleaner
Slowly been working on my Red Corsairs but with the new codex out for space marines I've kickstarted my backlog. In the last 4 days I have built and painted 3 Redemptors and a Primaris Chaplain. Any C&C is welcome. Bjorn Firewalker
You did a good job on the Chaplain and the Redemptors, but why doesn't the Chaplain have a skull helm? Does he judge himself unworthy of it for some reason, like Grimaldus (who's under stress trying to live up to his predecessor's example)? TrawlingCleaner
"When a large siege is to take place the Chapter Master commissions a siege task force is put together. Generally the Chapter Master and one other high ranking officer, leads this task force but if he is elsewhere, the two highest ranking officer leads and is also known as: "The Iron Bull". The Iron Bull is able to use any assets that are not currently already in a conflict and pool them into the task force. All members of this task force remove all company marking and icons and instead replace this with a blue strip. TrawlingCleaner
Thanks Bjorn! So with Armies on Parade and the Fun'n'Fluff Tournament coming up, I've been building up some lists and seeing what I want to take. Fun'N'Fluff My thoughts are that since the Iron Taurans are all about Sieges and siege warfare I'm going to do a Siege themed list. Last year for my tournament list I used: A captain (axe of medusa, Storm bolter and Merciless logic), Techmarine, Terminator Libby, Terminators, ven dread, 6 5 man tac squads (3 ML, 2Plas, 1Flamer), Whirlwind, Vindi and a Stormhawk interceptor. This year I think my list is going to be: Captain (AoM, Storm Bolter and merciless logic) Iron Father Libby(Sword, Reforge and Objuration Mechanicum) 3, 5 man ML tac squads 3 Assault Centurions, flamers and Hurricanes Ven dread with lascannon Ironclad with Chainfist, dread cqb and 2 hunter killers 3 Vindicators (They have some custom rules for the tourney where certain factions can take some units as troops, i.e. raven guard can take assault marines as troops. For Iron hands it's preds and vinidcators) Storm hawk interceptor, Icarus and Cyclone Missiles Part of me would love to swap the Interceptor for 3 more centurions in the Assault squad or some terminators but that would leave me with no mobility at all (with the fastest moving unit being the Vindicators of all things). I'm going to play some test games and see how I get on, I don't think anything in this list is particiularly cheesy or strong and follows the theme pretty heavily with some really tough units that can take and dish out the damage. With tac marines moving to take some objectives, Centurions, Vinidicators, characters and the ironclad moving up together. With frag missiles, the interceptor and 3 hurricane bolters I should be good for killing infantry. With the missiles, las and vindicators I should be good for shooting vehicles. Obviously this is all in theory but I think it should be good Armies on Parade I managed to snag a cheap 2x2 part of the realm of battle sector imperialis board for AoP. It won't be lavish but it'll be a nice way for me to show off some of my favourite units for my Iron Taurans. I don't think it'll have much infantry in it but I thought I may as well give it a go. I would be able to re-use it as a tray for transporting my army between tables at the tournament too I think. I'll post progress when the board gets delivered Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/355842-the-iron-taurans-updated-3107-indomnitus-models/page/3/#findComment-5400771 Share on other sites
Galron
Cool! Weirdly enough I am slowly swapping my minotaurs over to be "Sons of Khyr" along with my 30k Iron Warriors legion. Unlike you I am mostly using mini-marines since I have somewhere in the range of 7k in IW and I never really play my minotaurs. I plan on using Imperial Fists for tactics as I already have a primaris only Iron Hands army. TrawlingCleaner
So I have the board now and I have been planning what's goign where and what I still need to paint. So far it's looking like this: IMG_20191007_181447 The red lines will be sandbag walls and there will be ruined half walls and small ruins doted around the board as well as some barbed wire. Where I have gaps on the board, I will fill them in with some intercessors but hopefully I don't completely fill the board with what I have so far. What I need to paint for this board: Squad of terminators/more assault cents, more inclined for the latter as I may take 3 more centurions in my Fun'n'fluff list 2 Vindicators Finish the repulsor And tidy some of the models up. The priority is the models that I need for Fun'nfluff, if I need to I can fill gaps with other models like dreadnoughts Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/355842-the-iron-taurans-updated-3107-indomnitus-models/page/3/#findComment-5403701 Share on other sites

TrawlingCleaner
Nice army! Thanks dude! I've made a lot of progress. I have completed; 3 more centurions, 2 vinidcators and nearly finished Feirrios (just the axe head to do, I'm thinking of doing something similar to the Librarian . Board wise I'm got a lot of the colour down, still need to get some more colours in there, mostly details stuff like bronze in places and some buttons, panels and lights, a lot of stuff needs a wash especially the metalics and a whole load of dry brushing needs to be done. And I need to paint the sandbag parts. The display board and the army look great! Thanks Joker! That really means a lot. I have a tournament this weekend with them and I have a few more models I want to finish before putting these guys on the back burner for a while. I've actually got plans to use the new IF captain as a captain in gravis armour/alternative model for my chapter master. I've loved painting the scheme and I love this army but I've been painting them solidly for about 6 months and I'd like to try to share the love with some other projets that have been on the backburner for too long. I've got an eldar army that hasn't been touched and a chaos army that I finally know what to do with. Bjorn Firewalker
Your gaming board is well done. What is that Redemptor stepping on? A door from a cathedral that was demolished in an artillery barrage? (As the door depicts what is either an Imperial saint or a Space Marine hero, I doubt the Dreadnought himself caused the damage, unless he's a Chaos worshiper.) (As the door depicts what is either an Imperial saint or a Space Marine hero, I doubt the Dreadnought himself caused the damage, unless he's a Chaos worshiper.) Thanks Bjorn! I think it's a wall from a cathedral, in the campaign I have going with my mates the Iron Taurans are currently attempting to clear a Hive city of traitors so I imagine it was one of them that did it. Hazard stripes! Because even when your job is to mow down the enemies of mankind, you need to stay safe. They also handily double up as squad markings: IMG_20191024_221007 IMG_20191024_221015 IMG_20191024_221204 IMG_20191024_221116 IMG_20191024_221044 And with that, that's my tournament list done and ready to go for Saturday. I have one last practice game tonight but I'm happy with the list as it has a healthy amount of fluffy units built around a narrative (The tournament is more fluff based that competitive based). With the Iron Hands suppliment I was worried that I was going to be "that guy" as even though I'm taking some of the weaker codex units and none of the big relics/warlord traits/ special they were still iron hands. Having played a few games with the list against a strong but not super competitive Ad Mech list, I'm happy that my list isn't too good or too harsh. Captain takes the Axe of Medusa and Merciless logic WL trait, it makes him terrifying with the genewrought might strat. Libby takes reforge and Objuration mechanicum (?) which I absolutely love as a power especially vs eldar and orks or even ad mech. depending on what I'm facing, I may also spend a CP and give the techmarine the haywire bolts as these are so useful to finish something off with his 2+ ballistic and hanging around with the Vindicators. My list is: Captain with PAxe and Storm bolter (Warlord) Librarian with FSword Techmarine with PAxe 3xTac marine squads with Missle launchers Ironclad, dual melee Ven dread with TLas 3 Assault Cents, hurricane bolters and flamers Land speeder with dual HB 3x Vindicators (Which with the tournament's special rules are counted as troops) Stormhawk, Icarus, Assualt cannons and Typhoon missles The Ergonomic Enginseer and Bjorn Firewalker 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/355842-the-iron-taurans-updated-3107-indomnitus-models/page/3/#findComment-5414004 Share on other sites
Bjorn Firewalker
Hazard stripes constantly remind me of the Iron Warriors Traitor Legion. Do the Iron Taurans' ancestry hold some deep, dark secret? Is one of their nemeses an insane Warsmith who constantly accuses the Iron Taurans of "betraying our father" (all nonsense, as there is no chance a traitor's blood would be allowed to taint the loyal Iron Taurans' bodies)? Absolutely not! only totally loyal geneseed here How'd you get such nice clean hazard stripes? Painters tape? I did it by hand, it's not super straight lines close up but look good from a distance I had such a great weekend at Fun'n'Fluff and I loved every game and played some great players. I played: Necrons, Nids, Necrons, Black Legion and then Chaos Demons. My record was LWD on the first day with all 3 games coming down to the wire, the second day I won both games and really enjoyed myself. Overall I had LWDWW record which put me at 14th place out of 72 players, game wise and 7th place overall which comes down to: my game score, player score (what the opponent ranks their enjoyment of your game), how fluffy your list and the fluff you submitted, and the painting of your army. TrawlingCleaner
Squad sergeant Viribus vaulted the trench line firing a hail of bolts down onto the occupants below, landing with a squelch on traitor corpses. The rest of the squad joined him soon after with all occupying guardsmen slaughtered before they hit the ground. They had been tasked to claim the front web of trenches, with nothing more than fragile human bodies, little could stop them. The trenches were deep and wide enough that Astartes could not be seen over the top, even the enormous height and bulk of the Primaris had nothing to fear from the tracer fire above. Viribus had yet to fail a task set to him by the Chapter Master, even after his last campaign where he had to beat the xenos filth back with his own blown off limb" They're back! I'm finally back to my Iron Taurans after all this time, I never left just side tracked! The indomnitus box adds 2 of the units that I was yearning for: Assault troops and Bikes. I spent the whole of the Sunday after Indomnitus arrived to build the box, shaving all shoulder pads to replace with the Tauran pad and MK3. Down the rabbit hole we go! Squad sergeant Viribus: As you can see, there's a lot of MK3 bits, the pads were from Kromlech as I couldn't reliably get MK3 pads. I couldn't get the pads of of the Bladeguard unfortunately, they have a lot of what I would call "weird" points of contact etc ranulf the revenant 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/355842-the-iron-taurans-updated-3107-indomnitus-models/page/3/#findComment-5575735 Share on other sites
