+++Blood Angels Outpost+++

Recommended Posts

Well, sober reading there guys. Time to dig in and get cracking with that painting. Let's have a couple of big weeks!

We need to see some more completions and re vows. How's everyone coming along?

My Land Raiders are in the garage getting their second layer of paint sprayed.

Should be able to get them finished by the end of this week if nothing gets in the way.

Cheers

...I've figured out how to use Contrast and am FINALLY working on my vow. I'm testing colors on Tacticals to see what I wanna go with, and then boom, done, vow done. Should be done within the next week. Painting those Rubrics got my painting motivation back, it seems.

I, Zebulon, invoke the right of re-vow and rise a Second Time to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX on the side of the Blood Angels forum and vow to complete 13 models (listed below) of total value 595pts on or before September 1st, 2019. Success will bring me eternal glory and failure will doom me to wear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end.

Librarian in Terminator Armour

Chaplain in Terminator Armour

Terminator Ancient

Terminator Assault Squad (5 members)

Scout Squad (5 members)

:O

That's a hell of a re-vow Zebulon! How is it going so far? It would be great for us and your backlog when you complete it :)

:)

Well, I am a fair way through the terminators of their various kinds, but I haven’t touched the scouts yet. Struggling a bit to get them done, but I don’t anticipate a problem. Not sure I will manage 5 vows this year though! Yes it’s good news for my backlog and the prospect of playable armies (whether or not I actually game with them)

So apart from the connections to the flying stems not wanting to take (I did the suppressors with superglue, but that was the end of my tube), that's the vow done. Pictures aren't great, but it's pretty overcast and energy saving bulbs are not helping, i'll re-take them once I've attached the stems:.

OK, so that puts me ready for a third vow:

Vow 3. Fancy wording to follow when I'm not on my mobile but :

1 primaris capt, 1 primaris chaplain, 1 chaplain with jump pack and inferno pistol, 1 death company dreadnought.

That'll give me something to crack on with for the next few days

I Leonaides rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX on the side of the Blood Angels forum and vow to complete 1 Primaris Captain with power sword, 1 Primaris Chaplain, 1 Chaplain wiht jump pack and inferno pistol and 1 Death Company dreadnought with Blood Talons, heavy Flamer, Meltagun and Magna Grapple (i hope - need to check the model) of total value 408pts on or before September 1st, 2019. Please note - no primaris chaplain in this picture as he's gone into stealth mode aka the cheeky so-and-so is hiding somewhere in my stack of models. Sprue is the primaris captain

Vow 3. Fancy wording to follow when I'm not on my mobile but :

1 primaris capt, 1 primaris chaplain, 1 chaplain with jump pack and inferno pistol, 1 death company dreadnought.

Let me know of your points total when you work them out... ;)

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

I preferred the way it looked with the rear wing / horizontal stabiliser attached to the tail in reverse, sweeping backwards. Though now you've mentioned it I really should've adjusted the elevators on it before airbrushing. It's too late to fill in the existing elevators but I've spent a few minutes with a craft knife and some black paint to mark out some new ones;

+++ETL VII - WEEK 7 UPDATE+++

Week 7 was more productive than Week 6 – which is a pleasant surprise. Usually this is the low point of activity but in this ETL it seems than the output is more consistent week over week. With 18.6k pts competed in the Week and, more interestingly, 19.8k of more pts pledged, this is a very, very interesting week indeed!

Other interesting things: All the Factions, except the Astartes, are very close in terms of completed points. Indeed, Chaos and IFOR have only a difference of with the IFOR and the AoD having ONLY 107pts difference while the AoD are leading with 14.6k pts and the Xenos following with 10.7k pts. Even more interestingly, in terms of SCR, the Xenos lead as their completed points represent a much higher portion of their pledged points (44% is the highest completion rate on the Faction level) with 4.7k pts…

Let’s see Week 7 results in detail:

FACTIONS

FACTION: ADEPTUS ASTARTES

With their huge resources, the Astartes continue to lead the Faction race with a SCR of 8.3k pts. But it’s not only their superior resources that drive the SCR, their completion rate of 26% is at par with the other Factions too… Furthermore, their re-vowing rate of 35% denotes a healthy activity level, slightly above Chaos (which had a fantastic week btw) and slightly below the AoD. If the SWs get up to speed, then this score will undoubtedly explode. The Astartes is the undisputed leading Faction at this point of the event!

FORUMS

FORUM: BLOOD ANGELS

The BAs seem to have been left behind on the completions front. Completion rate of 24% is 10pps behind the DAs and even behind the SMs (who have materially more resources anyway). Sure, they have a re-vowing rate of 30% - but that was impressive last week. This week, the SMs have 36% and the DAs have, get this, 50%! On the positive side, they do have resources as yet untapped, so the promise is still there. What they really need is to have a break-away week that will boost them to position more in line with what the size of their pledged points suggests. Will Week 8 be that crucial week? Just keep in mind that we’re past the mid-point of the event. Their relatively high average vow explains this to some extent, but let’s face it, thy could be doing much better at this point.

We've slipped to fifth but we shouldn't panic as we have a wealth of vows to turn in - we just need to get them in and make them count now so the subsequent batch of vows can be achieved. AoD-L is starting to run out of steam and the the other three have started to move from away the pack - we have to go now to keep with them and keep the pressure on. We still have a chance so lets make this week count!

Zenithal on the vehicles done. Time to airbrush the reds on.

Reds done:

Reds look great. I love those Warhammer World tanks as well. On the Stormraven, are you aware that the rear tail fin is on the wrong way around though?

Oops... everyone does that the first time they build it I think

Nop, not everyone. Nobody in my group did it. ^^

Ignore the haters, all the cool kids build it that way around :wink: Excellent red too!

Pushing hard to get my Excelsior done by the end of the month which will be just over a third of my vow done. Gonna be tight!

Excellent news, hope to see some WIPs :smile.:

I'll have a solid two weeks after August 4th between summer and fall semester that I will be able to bust out my hvow and hopefully a second small followup vow. I want to contribute ay least 1k this year!

Ambition is great and it will certainly help! Just make sure you don't overdo it... :smile.:
