The future is now.

The Devastation of Baal is behind us. The reinforcements from Terra have arrived ,the genesis machines are operating to capacity and the process of Rubicon Primaris is upon us.

 

 

I have no doubt that the future will be dominated by the Primaris Astartes models, and that's OK because I like them. And it's time for me to move that way. I 've been painting 2nd company marines since  2nd edition and they 're nearly at full company strength ( i 'm a slow painter...), so I 've decided that my Primaris will be joining the 3rd company, the Ironhelms. It also helps that fluff-wise they have a new captain (after the Devastation), captain Antargo.

 

This thread will help me record my progress, and push me to paint more models.

The Primaris captain is too generic! - Don't worry, you can customize him with chapter specific bits.

The Primaris captain has no weapon choices! - Don't worry, there is an alternative version.

But I can't buy it you jackass! - ...

 

Monopose model, well it's the beginning of the range, what can I say. At least the codex allows the option of more powerful weapons in the pair of power fist & plasma pistol.

So, without further delay, the old man himself, the captain of the Ironhelms!

Definitely like that Captain - what kit does that fist come from?

The power fist is from the devastator sprue. I cut the captain's arm just before the elbow and adjusted the fist accordingly. The plasma pistol is from Hellblasters, the helmet from Deathwatch sprue, and the halo with drops from BA assault terminators.

Two lieutenants ready. The DI sword dude has a knight-style helmet from BA Tacticals and jousting shield from Intercessors. The shooty Lt is an Intercessor with the captain's helmet, shoulder pad and hanging thing from BA Tacticals.

Looks good. Seems like you're painting really fast so the army will be done within the year :D

They are part of the (very old) grass mix I use. I think they are cork flakes.

Long time and no update. The Custodians of the list (see above) that drives the painting effort were ready but I it took me some time to self-motivate to paint their pimped ride...

Off I go, back to painting red! Three more Intercessor squads are on the way, the slow way...
