I wont do that again, the wolves Dex was delayed so long people assumed it was because Russ was going to be in it. :/.

It's a March release, we'll just have to wait and see what it holds

on the other hand, it flips the speculation on who a possible Primarch at the end of it all (purely speculation of course) might be

I wouldn't get the wolves hope up again. Wrath of Magnus (pre 8th) was strong suggestions and rumors Russ was coming to deal with Magnus. Delayed codex in 8th was rumors that Russ was coming. PA and again rumors of Russ...

Last speculation on Psychic Awakening

PA1 = Eldars vs Dark Eldars
PA2 = Black Templars & Sisters of Battle vs Chaos Space Marines
PA3 = Blood Angels vs Tyranids
PA4 = Space Wolves vs Orks

January / February / March

PA4 = Dark Angels & Grey Knights vs Thousand Sons (confirmed)

PA5 = Tau vs Death Guard & Chaos Knights (as the fluff says)

PA6 = Space Wolves vs Orks (as the French rumor said)

April / May / June
PA? = Mechanicus & Imperial Knights vs Necrons
PA? = Imperial Guard & Deathwatch vs Genestealer
PA? = Custodes & Harlequins vs Daemons of Chaos

9th in July

Fulgrim and Angron are a given, eventually. What's specuition is the possible return of another a loyalist.

Atm, corax is most likely imho.

Then Russ.

But I also think we're going to be getting a ton of primarch tier things soon. Xenos, deamons, primarch everywhere

Ah, yeah. I maintain a general (if not particularly strong) belief that another Loyalist Primarch isn’t something that’s in the company’s current plan.

Gotta throw in support on this notion. Bringing RG back complicated the Imperial situation a great deal. Another loyalist resurrection to explain, just makes more hassle than the kit will sell. Sure bump in short term sales, but now mom and dad have to get along.

From a cynical standpoint, the extra hastle of justifying Primarchs coming back is minimal compared to the sales that they'd make - how many Guilliman models did they sell do you think? And since he's a special character who's essentially limited to a single subfaction of their best-selling product line, imagine how easily they'd be able to sell a similar model for a different sub-faction.

Plus, since they've already decided to move the setting along (one can discuss the merits of the choice, and of the execution, but not here, since that boat has sailed), and since they've sowed enough seeds for even loyalist primarchs coming back over the years/decades, you can bet they'll be doing another one - the question is, before or after the next Chaos Primarch?

In all honesty, I would have expected the Emperor's Children to come back in all their decadent glory in Psychic Awakening as opponents of the Aeldari, and the World Eaters in opposition to the Space Wolves and Imperial Guard on Armageddon... But Saga of the Beast does seem to sell the idea that Space Wolves are already earmarked for Orks. In a way I'm disappointed to not get to see such an epic rematch on Armageddon (involving WE, Orks, SW, IG, GK, BA, BT, Sallies...), but then, it's nice to see them exploring new rivalries too... Even if Blood Angels vs Tyranids again and Space Wolves vs Orks again is a bit boring ^^'

Of course... We could all be misreading the titular "Beast" of PA6 as Ghaz, it could still end up being Angry Ron :tongue.:

Now that we've caught on to Psychic Awakening not being that impactful in terms of narrative and models, at least for the moment, I wouldn't rule out the Armageddon battle royale until Saga of the Beast tells us what Ghaz is planning. Same with the Ynnari and Emperor's Children/Slaanesh.

Really, regardless of the rumours for 9th Edition being true or not, and despite the fact that we've only seen two Volumes for the moment, Psychic Awakening reads as setup material, if you ask me. Phoenix Rising is setting up the Ynnari as the main opposing force to Slaanesh, maybe Saga of the Beast will end with Ghaz setting a course for Armageddon again. And who knows what the titular Ritual of the Damned is all about. Considering the Dark Angels are present, the Fallen could be involved as well, at least in the narrative.

Speculation from me regarding book 4-6.

The open day post says that each book will have one new "champion" either reborn, reimagined or brand-new:

Book 4 "The ritual of the damned"

Dark angel character either a Primaris Ezekiel or the Primaris DA named in the WD article that got saved from being put in a dreadnought and got Primarised instead.

Book 5 "Greater good"

Some Tau anime robot character thingie.

Book 6 "Saga of the Beast"

Primaris Ragnar. I think/hope Ghaz will be released later on.

I hope, given they have saved the trailer for the next PA for Dec. 25th, that PA4 contains something of significant note in the story.

THE LION IS RETURNING

Ah erhm sorry

Somehow I feel like we'll see Luther returning before The Lion... at least, very, very closely behind. Much like how it took the destruction of Cadia to reach the narrative critical mass needed to give Guilliman the defibrillator. Edited by Lord Marshal

If they were releasing a Primarch soon they'd have done it in the run-up to christmas. No way they hold back a major release like that until after the holiday shopping season.

My guess is most purchases of GW stuff are for ourselves and not as gifts. So Christmas is just a time when customers have less disposable cash. Whereas just after Christmas lots of people have Christmas money to spend...

So Christmas reveal and in shops mid Jan makes sense to me.

Maybe, but I do think this focuses way too much on an existing customer base, while GW's eye is still mostly on increasing its reach rather than extracting more from the customers they already have. From that POV, having two Imperial Primarchs is probably a downside from a simple ease-of-entry standpoint as far as the storyline is concerned.

Like, I could be 1000% wrong on this, and maybe the return of Lion El'Johnson and Russ gets announced next week, who knows, but it's just my intuition based on how they've set the story up and what I can tell of their internal thought processes.

Were Guilliman, Magnus or Mortarion released a xmas tho ?

One would argue on the other hand that they have plenty to bolster sales this christmas (battleforces, sisters, ...) ; maybe the smart move would be to push a primarch in what is a business lull, to push up sales then.
