Regarding Mephiston, i think that as important as the Character rules, would be an expanding of the Sanguinary Discipline, with either access to the Librarius codex discipline, should the BA codex becomes a supplement in the future, or with a raw expansion of the Sanguinary Discipline.

An expansion of the Sanguinary Discipline with powers akin the old "fear of the darkness" that would act on the Moral, or life stealing powers (You wound on 5+ and regenerate one HP, for example), or raw healing powers (regenerate D3 wound for friendly unit for example). It could be interresting, and even more if Mephiston were allowed to manifest three powers.

I'd love if GW remember refractor fields for marine HQs.

Somehow the milions of commissars and guard officers all get issued one, but one of the few thousand high command marines in the galaxy?

Nah.

If you aren't worth an iron halo or in terminator armor, you get no invuln save.

Or an Rosarius. Chaplains even got it buffed to a 4++ this edition. ;)

Luckily the guys carrying the geneseed, and especially ours who have the blood of Sanguinius in their veins, aren't as important as a Chaplain or Captain apparently. :D

It was 4+ as far back as 5th at least.

Before that I don't know.

But the fact that librarians, lieutenants, ancients, and apothecaries can't have any protection beyond their armor is kinda silly, considering how important they are.

Anyway, Triszin, or anyone, got a link?

Nvm, here it is

There are "Darkness in the Blood" Spoilers running around by now, especially regarding Mephiston, Dante, the Sanguinor and how the Tyranids engage the Blood Angels, which could also make their way into PA3:

Holy crap the amount of revelations Haley has packed into this novel. This will be a must read for every Blood Angels fan.

Edit: also for anyone who wants to read the novel and experience these "holy :censored:, really?!" moments, don't click on the link!

Huh.

So I'm getting the vibe. Sanguinis soul split like magnus into shards.

There's a shard in sanguinor and now a shard in mephiston?

It sounds more like the Sanguinor and Mephiston are avatars of two conflicting aspects which may or may not origin with Sanguinius, with the noteable difference that the Sanguinor has given himself completely to that noble and heroic aspect (so he basically became that aspect himself) while Mephiston is 'just' channeling the dark aspect. It's entirely possible that those two aspects just have manifested in Sanguinius and in return got shaped by him since that's how weird the warp and primarchs can be.

Guys, if anyone hasn't seen this yet- head over to that link. It's a must read.

WOW.

I'm not a huge fluff junkie, but this is epic ,epic, epic stuff for the BA.  Absolutely epic.  Really cool to read.

But be wary- it's essentially the book with full SPOILERS!

Mephiston is looking quite healthy in the new banner art for Blood of Baal:

He could totally be holding a guitar in his left hand, pointing at the audience.

I also like how he has a bit more of Sanguinius' looks to him, though I know others will miss his"dark lord" visage from previous depictions. Personally, I love the idea of him having the facial features of Sangy, but being far darker and more menacing.

I put my own thoughts on the Spoilers so far here as well: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/359973-darkness-in-the-blood-spoilers-incoming/?p=5429462

When is this book going on pre-order? Anyone know? I remember them mentioning the special edition of the book with all the extra goodies. I only really wanted the coin and the hardback book though. :tongue.:

Best we know is 30th Nov preorder according to the rumours.

That's only for the model, the Mephiston book (City of Light) and PA3. The Dante book (Darkness in the Blood) will be sometime next year.
