One potential benefit of Crusade taking so long is it shouldn’t be that much turn between this book and the Dark Mech boom rumored to come next. Crusade was at the Printers in what, January? Before that? Which means is already 7 months, almost 8 months into the next book.

You really think FW team worked on the Book 10 during the COVID pandemic? These people can't even write article for the WarCom website during 3 months, let alone the Black Book.

You really think it's Forge World who does the Warhammer Community Team's job?

No idea if it's an indication of what's to come, but FW just re-branded it's Facebook page into the "Horus Heresy Facebook Page", focusing on content from Titanicus & 28mm 30k which would make sense if they're gonna be pushing Crusade sometime soon - also we've had articles published today and last week both talking about resin Titanicus/Aeronautica kits coming from FW 'soon' - might be an indication they they'll be releasing new kits from the site again.

Then why WarCom team published AoS/40k-related articles every day during the lockdown, but ignored all FW stuff? You saw last Road to Thramas article, all that was required to write it was a bunch of vehicle color schemes. And we waited for this 3 months.

One of the WarCom team members on Twitter mentioned that the Specialist Games/FW articles had been suspended during lockdown until the whole WarCom team was up and running again, so they may have been running on a skeleton crew before GW at large resumed business again.

Yeah,

Also in other news: Qin Xia on Friday, also Lion and Dark Angels stuff coming soon

I hope this means we get to see those Deathwing lads we saw prior. I want to see what people with competent painting skills do with them! Not to say that the FW job was bad, just... whomever painted their stuff prior was better. The stylistic change really hurt the models paint aesthetic, in my opinion.

Now that FW are doing Friday previews/pre-orders and starting to sell new kits, I've got more hope for a decent Road to Thramas update on Monday.

Also, was looking for something else on WarCom yesterday (just prior to the Quin Xa announcement) and saw a few recent additions to the Horus Heresy downloads page and some new looking branding (I think?) - https://www.warhammer-community.com/downloads/#the-horus-heresy

Curious that they've kept the Jovan pdf, considering he's been OoP for a while. Purely speculation, but could we see it coming back at some point? Not that I'm particularly interested in it, but it would be a reassuring sign of FW keeping support for their Solar Auxilia range.

Does he have rules in the Crusade Imperialis book or was he one of the kits that only had online rules you could download from the FW site (like the Sabre, Inner Circle Knights etc. currently do until Book 9)?

Aaah, that makes sense then, I thought he was included in at least one of the black books or the SA red book, my bad!

He was purely online

In that case, I guess it's just housekeeping to have him and the Exploratory Navigator rules online. I'm not going to read anything into it about future support for factions, although its nice to see.

My book 9 and Lion arrived earlier this morning.  Both are intensely awesome :D

For anyone wondering about the generic units and the firewing unit:

The Hussars are Bike troops.  Mounted on a standard space marine bike with TL bolters (with an option to upgrade to a short ranged snub rotor cannon).

The Sky Seekers are a jetbike unit mounted on a Estoc pattern jetbike.  Its lighter than the scimitar, used for recon with and Oracle Array with optics and augurs.  Armed with TL bolters that can be swapped for a heavy rotor cannon or granade launchers.

The Firewing Enigmatus cabal is a unit of 3 guys, masters in the firewing arts of warfare, equipped with a special jumppack, a calbanite charge blade and a needle pistol.
