Im definitely giving up on the battle damage for now lol. My army is for the most part painted. But I'm starting the mammoth task of actually properly re-basing my army fully. I've started recasting a bunch of bases. Have about 30 done at the moment, so I'll paint them all up first then do the next batch.

The purple bases look really good, and are a nice complement to the silver of the GK.

Yes, yes they are - I got a picture coming up of my Grand Master, he has a purple cloak/tabard. Silver and purple is a good colour combination!

Thanks guys.

Im trying to wet blend the purple on the bases instead of a quick dry brush, and I'm not very good at it... At all lmao. It took me like, 3 hours to paint 12 bases earlier. Least it's practice!

You do the chapter proud sir with your efforts.

Project is duscontinued for few years, there was complains from GW in intelectual property area

I was under the impression GW endorsed the project? Id4chan confirms this, even though I am well aware of their reputation as a shady source of information.

So finally the deathwatch cloaks arrived, and I finally completed my Interceptor Squad of 10 with these shiny new cloaks.

Method: So they got the deathwatch veterans back, and the rest is the GK front, legs, armor, weaponry, helmet with the backpack. However it wasn't a perfect fit as I thought it would be - I needed to cut the collar off the deathwatch backs (cutting vertically, not horizontally) to slot the armor piece in. And the armor piece itself had a few knobs to attach to the hole, which also needed removing. Then as you slot it in, there is a gap between the two parts on the top of the armor, but the headpiece covers it quite nicely, especially with the primer on top. The trick is keeping both halves perpendicular to each other so it looks uniform (I used the bit where the ball joint attaches to the armor as a reference for that). Then I needed to cut the bit behind his legs off, so the pose looked like it was straight, and not slouching. Unfortunately I realised that, as I was cutting in the second model, so my justicar looks a bit that way. Other than that, they are assembled, and waiting to be painted.

Thoughts?

Not really, the helmet's indents give the appearance of a hood. Not to mention there is also a collar at the back part of the head, before the cloak, that sells that look further. But I see what you mean :smile.:

I finished painting him, pictures later today.

I would like to show some of my conversions to inspire maybe the one or the other brother here.

I like converting but not so much painting.... and I did rebuild my GK's for 9th but the NDK where on the field in 8th.

I realy don't like the look of our baby carrier, so i did go the aproach to make them like "giant" killer robots with a gk sitting in it like the armiger. And the armour parts of our NDK fit pretty good on the legs/arms.

Some close ups from the Parts: I like the protoss berserker style of arm blades, so i did convert the NDK-Sword to them.

Librarian with only Hands, so I'm flexible for his weapons. And he got a helm. It's finecast so was not so hard to scratch the head out. He was build originaly for my Sm army so no GK helm....

I hope you like it.

Nice work Silver-Fox:thumbsup: I especially like the kit-bash work on the NDK's.....good stuff. The front views of your Brotherhood Champ and Draigo are a bit blurred. Could you manage a reshoot on those? I would really like to see the details on those:yes:

Thank you very much.

As you wish, brother. Draigo and the Brotherhood champion got new pictures.

I'll be back in some hours because my opponent for today's game will come every minute....

(his key broke so he can't get in his house....so no army, no game)

Complementary fluff to go with him:

999.M41, 0.01 Excerpt Log, Brother-Sergeant Koriel of the Dark Angels 5th company.

“Throne, I’m not even sure what I saw”. One moment he has there, one moment he was not. Nothing out of the ordinary too, just a regular patrol, reinforced with the hellblasters from the 5th company. We encountered, xenos, the Tau’va, those throne-forsaken species. The hellblasters gave them every chance to leave, but the damn xenos refused. We opened fire, and our Chaplain, Argentius preaching sermons that even the machine-spirits of our weapons were soothed by. He would have made a fine Techmarine if he was not the overly spiritual type.

We put down the xenos incursion and we were on the way to our Stormraven. Then we saw them, silver-armoured marines, bearing unknown heraldry. They were not traitors, that much I am certain, their runes on the armour glowing gold, and their imperial heraldry pristine. The leader asked our chaplain to come with him, beckoning to a stormship of the same silver grey as his armour. I asked the question of who he was, and which chapter he hailed from. Then suddenly our muscles were locked – we could not do anything, however other than dumbly stare at the lens of their captain’s helmet. Our Chaplain, as if by some hidden consent followed them, flashing me a look of sadness and loneliness that to this day haunts me. That is the last thing I remember, and as I woke up, none of the silver space marines, nor our chaplain was there, with the hellblasters still lying comatose. Of course, I reported this to Master Lazarus of the 5th company, but he advised me in not many words to forget what I saw.

End log.

999.M41, 0.03 Excerpt Log, Brother-Sergeant Koriel of the Dark Angel’s 5th company.

Today, I think I saw him – dressed in the same silver armour of that chapter, with that strange helmet, and the rune-escribed plate. It was him; I am certain – I would never forget my first attempts at writing litanies which he, Argentius reverently sealed to his backpack. He even still had the seals of the Indomitus crusade, alongside his backpack, crux, and crozius, given to him by Rouboute Gulliman himself. After the battle, I approached him – his silver comrades with their strange helmets parting way, as if again by hidden, psychic consent. So many questions flashed through my mind – Who were they, where is he, why are they freely wielding the power of the warp, dancing around their silver armour?

Their leader, obviously a chaplain, just simply nodded, showing the same gesture that my old friend Argentius showed during the Indomitus crusade – the Aquila with his hands intertwined, reinforced by his crozius. Then as a gate of psychic power opened behind him, he followed his new comrades into the depths of whatever that gateway lead. That is how I know, Argentius is now one of those marines. Emperor protect him.

End log.

Since this is a WIP Thread-

Here are my 2 Lascannon Razorbacks

gallery_26778_16349_56421.jpg

I love the FW turrets compared to the stock ones.

Still to build:

  • 2x Land Raiders (want to magnetize them to be all 3 variants)
  • FW Mk IIb Land Raider for Purifers
  • Titan Pattern WR9 Stormraven (yeah I don't like the stock look of the stormraven so I have to modify it)
  • a couple more razorbacks (one specifically my techmarine)
  • Stormhawk and Stormtalon are maybes they may go to another army
