Howdy Y´all! Recently finished this Death Company Stormraven to go along with my Elite Death Company squad! This model sat on a shelf for years, just clothed in its black primer and it does feel good to have it done. I didn´t much care for the bubble turret so I swapped for a regular tank style pintIe. I did not realise how big ravens were! Hope you like!

The heat effect is really simple. Paint up your engines as normal - silvers, shades, drybrush etc. Then using the FW Clear paints (which are now available through GW) go through Blue, Purple, Red and Orange, overlapping each colour slightly into the next. The engines I did with an airbrush, the melta barrels with a normal brush.

I really like it, however the assault cannon doesn't look right. You should use the manned turret, imo. The small one is an air trap that makes the vehicle look even less suited to flight!

I think it's the way the assault cannons are mounted. They're too far forward as the razorback turret thingy is intended for the cannons to be mounted 180 degrees. It currently looks like a pintle mount and it's a little bit too spartan.

It´s all subjective, I just dont like the manned version lol No issues with people who prefer it, just not for me.

Looks so much better without the upper cockpit, let alone having a DC paint job.
