So wishlisting a bit but I hope we see a horde discount put into thr game like 3pk and AoS has. Something to make big units more attractive. Not massive discounts, but enough to make taking CSM cheaper than taking 4x5 CSM. That kind of thing.

I’m obviously getting way ahead of myself here but, does anyone remember how long it was between them announcing 8th edition and it dropping and how long between them announcing AoS 2 and it dropping?

My hazy memory seems to be around 3 months but I could have that wrong. I’m just trying to get an idea on timescale if they do announce a new edition. Obviously the current lock down may make previous examples irrelevant but it’d be interesting to know what they might be aiming for.

No idea about AoS, but I checked the WH Community website for articles from 2017:

March 23rd: 8th ed snippets discussed at Adepticon

April 22nd: new edition FAQ

May 15th: Primaris unveiled (background, datasheet)

May 16th: Indomitus Crusade background

May 23rd: Dark Imperium release date announced

May 26th: more primaris datasheets

May 27th: WH Fest coverage (Forge World books, Redemptor Dread)

May 31st: Dark Imperium unboxing

June 3rd: Dark Imperium preorder

EDIT: I missed some of the older articles, added now. It took just over a month from the official announcement to the release of Dark Imperium. Rumours were running wild from early March at least.

Thanks for digging that stuff up. It was faster than I remembered then between the official announcement and the new edition. Must’ve felt like longer because of the rumours I guess.

That bodes well for this (current situation pending) if they do announce another edition :)

War of Sigmar blog hypes things even more.

I can't wait.Z7qDzRv.png

That is very subjective to what that person likes. If it tyranids getting a primarch-level character, it's meh for me. If it's Russ, Corax, Perty, Angron coming back then you have my attention. Different people get excited over different things.

O.o

It might not be the biggest news of the preview, but I'm hoping they will announce that pre-orders will start up again the following week (the 30th), with our first pre-order preview showing up the day after the preview (Sunday the 24th).

They may have to push it back further, but hopefully they will at least have a solid date in mind that they can tell us.

Total speculation on my part but I'm thinking it'll be a new starter set with Necrons vs Ultramarines.

Silent King returns, Necrons awake everywhere, Cato Sicarius gathers a rapid strike force (bikes and speeders), is overly confident, gets a kicking and crosses the rubicon.

Box set has new Necron character and Primaris Sicarius.

But a new boxed set won't be the only thing and I reckon we'll see updates for Lost and the Damned, Necrons and Catachans.

Then it's revealed it's a necron.flayer wearing sucarius skin

wonder if we'll see any leaks in the next day or two, usually we get at least something lol.

Im not holding my breath on a new edition sort of thing. After thinking about it, it does feel like they have a bit too much left unshown atm.

If ultramarines have another primaris dude before CF and BT I will :cussing riot.

You better start sharpening your pitch fork then lol
I would not be surprised if we get Primaris Cato or Felix in the next wave...
I would prefer a destroyer with legs.

If it's to have vanilla dudes, just let them be generic. ;)

Oh Emperor please no - not another "Space Marine goes down fighting and comes back a Primaris" background justification.

Just make a new model. Seriously, if you've got the guts to phase out old models and change 30 years of background with Primaris, just have the guts to kill off characters you're replacing and give us something original.

As you can tell, I don't agree that every model needed to be upgraded to Primaris. Just the rubbish and ancient looking ones. The rest... keep or kill - then bring out new models.

On that note, I reckon if we see Primaris bikers we'll see Primaris Lieutenant and a Chaplain on a bike.

From the potato cam we are sure there's some sort of gunship coming which is always cool.
