2.5k Blood Angels DoR List with IF Allied Detachment

Update to original post: I reworked the list to address issue with taking a Command Rhino in my allied detachment HQ slot and make the Imperial Fists detachment provide more infantry shooting support.

 

Hi Folks,

 

So I've been toying with the idea of adding an Imperial Fists allied detachment to a DoR Blood Angels list I've been refining. In addition to just looking and feeling awesome, I'm going down this route because I wanted the Imperial Fists to provide ranged support. As you'll see, the list isn't fancy - I actually don't use any special units for both legions - but I think both legions complement each other.

I haven't bought any of the Imperial Fist units, so I have maximum flexibility with this list. I also have a 10 Dawnbreakers, 5 Crimson Paladins, 5 Tartaroses, 10 Breachers, a Blood Angels Preator in Tartaros armor, an Incaendius Dread, and a Blood Angels Contemptor Dread, so I've got options for my Blood Angels list.

I think the rhino is non compulsory hq choice, so can’t lead the IF detachment, maybe wrong though

I'm reading the rules for the unit in the Legiones Astartes book and you're right. I reworked the original list to address this issue.

Good amount of troop choices, but I don’t see why you need the IF, also, probably want to give the assault squads something that lets them threaten armor, like a power fist on the SGT. I don’t know what your meta is like, but it feels a little light on the anti vehicle.

Would adding melta bombs to the assault squads along with a power fist on the SGT help them threaten armor? I took the bombs out from the original version to make space for vehicles in the Blood Angels list but can bring them back in. What things can I swap out from the list to boost the anti-vehicle capabilities?

 

One idea I mulled for the IF detachment list during this process was running a unit of Tartaros Terminators with Transponders, Vigil Shields, and Chain/Power Fists and the Sarg with a Vigil Shield and Solarite Gauntlet attached to a Terminator Preator, Legion Champion, or Warmonger with the same setup as the Sarg to threaten vehicles. I'd run another unit of these Terminators with the Transponders, Vigils, and a weapon load out to threaten TEQs. Pride of the Legion would be perfect for this small detachment but I'm reading the RoW's rules and it doesn't seem like I can use it for detachments with an HQ with the Master of the Legion rule. Corrections on this point are welcome.

I would go with one or the other, Melta bombs for the full squad is expensive but that also turns the unit into armor’s worst nightmare.
