Honestly as we have such a close but unique replacement Id prefer that we didnt get Stormravens, but they seem like theyre really trying to streamline things now

 

That said I would agree on not buying newly unlocked units until our codex comes out

Last time was a warcom article written by a space wolves player

Id attach more weight to this being a codex

That pages also shows the mechanics for successor chapters, with Space Wolves in mention as well, so that naturally is allowed in the rules.

 

We'll see if they give some art/examples in the supplement, would be cool to see some Wolfspear.

 

For fun, they should show the Wolf Brothers as well, that would be awesome.

The main thing to see is if there's further restrictions in the Supplement. I kind of doubt it, that would be odd to me. Would be very bad for new folks to buy stuff based on that list, then buy the supplement just for something to be invalid again.

Minimarine Iron Priest took a jump, Tempest Hammet is 20 but techmarines pay 15 for thunderhammer

Hes 90 kitted out but Primaris is 80

 

Axe and Shield Ven dread 160 but going by reg Dreadnought points I can only see Wulfen dreads going up a very small amount

 

Am way more optimistic about Wulfen wargear points now

We seem to have lost the great wolf claw for dreads.

 

Normal bikers get the blood claws keyword now. This means they now have bs 4 but lost beserk charge and WGPL

Theyll revert to swift claws in codex

 

Might just be great wolf claw is same points as dreadnought combat weapon

 

 

Relevant nerf for us is Judiciar's tempormortis range is down to 3'

 

 

Any new hellfrost rule as I believe it is listed as an option for dreadnought and ven dreadnought?

Someone else said theres no mortal wound mechanic listed for it
Do we have stats? Where the datasheets correct.

Looking at strats

 

2cp for an assault intercessor squad to fight again is a dark horse with some astacks bonuses and a sergeant with power fist or thunder hammer

 

1 + 1cp to give Outrider squad minus one to hit and ignore wound rolls of 1-3 is quite good and increases their tarpit/distraction carnifex value

I tried to calculate the cost of my mixed weapons terminator squad with the points values of the assault and normal terminator squad. It actually came out 5 points cheaper. So termis get an additional wound without a points increase. That's really solid

Something I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere; 'Hero of the Chapter' from 'Crusade' is now a strategem for other versions of play.

 

We can give a Saga 'warlord trait' to almost all of our heroes for 1cp per after the warlord.

 

Also, 'Hammer of wrath' has been changed so the dice roll is 'higher than enemy toughness'. I can potentially see large squads of blood claws going nuts with this doing an average of five mortal wounds on top of their normal damage for 1cp.

Yeah it was already a strat in Saga of the Beast. In a 2k game you can play it and Relic of the Chapter twice so for the cost of 4cp your army would have 3 warlord traits and 3 relics

imho, I hope our saga's get a rework ( in form and functionality ).

- make them all great, not just 1-2

Youre a glutton for punishment :)

Id rather straight up traits instead of bonuses that generally rarely happen
