Blood Claws are physically mature as all their implants (including the Black Carapace) are in and working so they should get the 2W. It is only their tempers that need cooling.

I am really liking the look of my stalwart Grey Hunters, 2 wounds and 2 attacks at AP-1 thanks to the buffed Astartes chainswords makes them pretty good for a Troop unit. Almost makes me sad I converted up those Intercessors with Thunder Hammers.

What's that you say? Veteran Intercessors are now a unit entry in their own right? Funtimes roll!

True but it really depends on how GW wants to frame it. Scouts are Neophytes as are Blood Claws. If they are going to say all Neophyte Space Marines have 1 wound that will be blood claws for wolves and scouts for others. They could also argue that because Blood Claws are further in the gene implant process than most scouts (who are getting their implants along with training) then they might say its 2 wounds. The trick is we dont have much precedent to look at for how they would handle this. Historically though (back in 5th) they were power armored scouts. They had the same WS and BS as scouts and they increased the weapon skill of blood claws when they raised the scout WS and BS, only leaving the BS down due to their bloodthirsty single-mindedness. So I would say GW has historically viewed Blood Claws as a Scout tier unit and would not be surprised if they continue to do so.

Edit cuz powerfist thumbs are hard to type with

Blood claws use power armor.

They are able to wear armor because they have the black carapace (*sisters of battle exception noted but is different).

The black carapace is the final modification to create a marine.

Blood claws combat skills are unproven but they have all the full collection of physical augmentations a marine ever gets.

Vanilla marine scouts do NOT have the black carapace. The fluff expressly mentions it is the final step and marks their transition to full marine status. Most scouts are in progress of implanting but deemed qualified to see action while upgrading.

All that being said...GW doesn't care about our fluff beliefs so who knows

I mean honestly, if they gave Wolf Scouts 2W, Ld9, WS2+, and access to the same armory of ranged and close combat weapons that the Wolf Guard get, along with a “disrupt enemy supply lines” rule and a cool “forward positioning” or improved “Behind Enemy Lines” rule, I wouldn’t mind if they gave Blood Claws the vanilla scout treatment.

So now the question is....

Do I  open up my legion case and use my grey slayers as grey hunters

Or do I play my primaris as just properly scaled grey hunters and blood claws.

I guess at the end of the day its the best of both worlds for folks who have pretty large collections.

Some have pointed out that it might be using the krak grenade stats by mistake. I think that's more plausible than an intentional upgrade like that. Personally, I want them to increase the overall number of attacks, not the quality of each attack. Give TWC 6 D1 attacks (boostable to D2 via strategem), and now they are a real MEQ menace. SW already have enough TEQ answers, we need more MEQ solutions.

Anyone thinking of trying old deathstars?

LRC, BC pack, WP, WGPL?

Wulfen, Stormwolf, 8 of the buggers, or 7 plus a PA model or two?

7 Wulfen, WP, WGBL or maybe a RP to escort them in with portal cover save power might work now.

Same for the LRC, the SWolf or LRC debate has been pretty heavy, now that Stormwolves are better, they can press further afield while one or maybe two LRC's provide the mid table thrust.

Don’t if it’s leaked here on the BnC yet, but I saw a new Impulsor datasheet today, and each of their upgrade weapon options for small buffs, as well.

Maybe this link to the Rdddit post will work https://www.reddit.com/r/WarhammerCompetitive/comments/i9unk5/new_minor_buff_to_impulsors/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Please adjust and copy over the relevant info, if links to Reddit aren’t allowed - I don’t remember the rules on that.

Stubbers up to 4 shots each.

Guess Cawl was on to something after all
