Phatsquirre1
361st Krieg Mechanized Regiment 116th Assault Korps, Salient Cluster Garrison ++++++++ ‘...as to the reason for their presence here in the Cluster, I am unsure, although I hypothesize that one of the more reclusive among our number is the architect of this decision. They are a potent tool, the mere threat of their arrival enough to dissuade rebellion from rearing its traitorous head. In those instances when that is not enough, when a demonstration of their power is required, they serve unerringly, unwavering in their purpose, and brutally excise the cancer of heresy, crushing those who would flaunt the Emperor's light. Indeed, the need for the 116th Korps is a mystery to both myself and many of my colleagues, but I sleep more soundly for their presence.' ++++++++ - Lord Aevander Amaxus Bel Theryk, Inquisitor, Salient Conclave (attr.) Hello everyone! I recently took the plunge and bought some DKoK minis from Forge World, as I've always wanted to collect an army of them. I figured that with so many other fine regiments present, this was the place to post my progress as my collection grows. With most of my other logs, I've focused primarily on narrative blurbs and background (like the above), so this time I wanted to try my hand on the actual WIP of the army, as it is something I've never really done before. With that said, as a total fluff junkie, I'm sure one or two narrative elements might find their way onto the log. Anyways, here are the obligatory pictures, the first recruits for the 361st! duz_, WarriorFish, GreenScorpion and 3 others 6 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367819-361st-krieg/ Share on other sites

Phatsquirre1
Thanks WarriorFish! So far I've settled on a gray/dark gray scheme for the 361st, as shown off by a venerable Grenadier, courtesy of a potato cam. The Pounder
Welcome to the Korps son! Krieg are an amazing regiment and model range, I’m sure you’ll love working on them. I’m liking your scheme, very gritty (as they should be!) I’ve gone for a grey scheme too! Good luck with your project, looking forward to seeing your progress. Slave to Darkness
Question is, are you a Tank/Artillery or Deathriders kinda guy?? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367819-361st-krieg/#findComment-5635353 Share on other sites
Phatsquirre1
Thanks guys! Question is, are you a Tank/Artillery or Deathriders kinda guy?? Theoretically? Both. Practically, I think the 361st will focus more on armor/artillery aspect, as I'm a huge fan of FW's Mars-Alpha Russ (which I hope comes back in stock soon ) and artillery pieces. Plus, while I love the Death Riders, with the treatment the Korps have received recently, buying them makes me a bit wary. In other news, no painting progress as of yet unfortunately, but in between reporting my infraction to the nearest commissar and planning my next round of reinforcements, I have managed to get one of my squads built. I still need to decide on a special weapon for the squad, but as soon as I have some warmer weather I'll be priming these guys. WarriorFish
The presentation of a picture has commuted your punishment to only 100 lashes - the commissariat is in a good mood as the biccie tin has just been restocked. Carry on soldier. Phatsquirre1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367819-361st-krieg/#findComment-5635755 Share on other sites
Phatsquirre1
Well, not a whole lot of progress this week, but I did manage to get a Field Officer, Vox-caster and Plasma Gunner built. In addition, I started painting my first squad, partially because there was some good weather, but mainly in order to prove my discipline to the Commissariat, who were thankfully merciful on this occasion. I've also gone ahead and put in a field requisition for some armor, which in this case means a refit of a hellhound and chimera that were "loaned" from my other Guard army. One question I did have was whether or not there was any fluff reason behind the Korps not using Armored Sentinels? According to intelligence gathered by the regiment, they seem to be fine to use, but considering I rarely see DKoK sentinels I figured I'd ask. Otherwise, i'm hoping that I can get these guys completed this week, and get started on either one of the tanks or the command squad, which I still need to finish building. Phatsquirre1
1st Squad, 1st Platoon 5th Company, 361st Krieg Mechanized Regiment 116th Assault Korps, Salient Cluster Garrison ++++++++ Well, it was a bit of a busier week, but I've finally managed to get 1st Squad completed, minus special weapons and a strap for a shouldered lasgun. Pictures to follow: The full squad: Second section: First Section, including Watchmaster and WIP weapons specialist: The squad from the rear: I'm also a big fan of the movement trays I bought for them on a whim, I think they really help tie the squad together. In other news, I have a number of reinforcements en route, including special weapons, command upgrades, more guardsmen, and the first dedicated heavy armor for the regiment. The remaining infantry squad, hellhound, chimera, and command section should help tide me over until then. The Pounder
They look great! Very gritty as it should be. You’re right, the movement tray brings them together. Slave to Darkness
The squad from the rear: They do look damn good, movement trays really bring it together as well I think. Phatsquirre1
Thanks guys, much appreciated! I'm still toying with the idea of adding some other details to the bases and trays, but I also really like how they've come out and don't want to mess with it too much. Guess time will tell. The squad from the rear: They do look damn good, movement trays really bring it together as well I think. Damn, you caught on to my heretical thoughts too quickly. I need to be more discrete when it comes to revealing my allegiance to Slaanesh in the future. Phatsquirre1
Chimera Armored Personnel Carrier A-051 1st Squad, 1st Platoon (attch.) 361st Krieg Mechanized Regiment 116th Assault Korps, Salient Cluster Garrison ++++++++ Hey everyone, It was a good week for the 361st, managed to get the first Chimera painted (minus transfers), and squad two built. Considering how much I enjoyed painting the Chimera, I'm excited for my next batch of reinforcements, and think I made a good choice with a Mechanized regiment. Now if only FW could get my order shipped... Bjorn Firewalker
Good job on the Chimera. Phatsquirre1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367819-361st-krieg/#findComment-5647057 Share on other sites
Phatsquirre1
Thanks Bjorn, much appreciated! It's been all quiet on the front (sorry), with the 361st continuing to build up its forces in preparation for its next deployment - which in real life translates to having a busier couple weeks than expected. Luckily I still managed to get some work done, although none of that was paint related (minus priming models ) and instead the focus has been on putting units together. As it stands, the first platoon of the 361st is starting to come together, while the regiment's armored elements have also found themselves reinforced. There are a couple other units not put together enough to include, but with any luck they should join shortly, although I think more dedicated painting time is needed for now, especially while the weather is warm enough to spray models. Now, as seems to be the usual with FW, I just need some units to come back in stock so I can place my next order.
