Hey guys, sorry for being quiet. I'm looking forward to this game! I just posted my character profile in the character thread and would like to know your thoughts. i'm working through my character sheet now and will probably have questions being a complete noob to this game. lol

Ok, I’m looking at my skill selections using the xp. Based on some of Mol’s recommendations here is what I have.

 

BS x4 ranks

STR x3 ranks

 

Deed: Battle Damage 

 

Mighty Shot

Hip Shooting

Astartes Weapon Specialization 

Signature Wargear

Intimidation

Ironjaw

 

For my Armor History I got:

Death is Joy

A Hero’s shame

Emperor’s Finest

Bring Death from Afar

 

Thoughts?

Okay, the first question I have, as I think I might be missing something, somewhere, what class is he?

 

The STR X3 leads me to think that he might be an Assault, Tech, and Libby.

 

Whereas BS X 4 leads me to think he's anything but an Assault marine.

 

This leads me to the next question, what is his goal? What does he want to be overtime?

Okay, so the BS boost makes a ton of sense then, the STR not so much unless you're planning on getting stuck into CQB a lot.

 

Perhaps look at boosting toughness or maybe things like mighty shot, maybe Astartes Weapons Specialization?

Strength and BS are cheap, but I'd look at Perception as well.  It is dirt cheap for a Devvie and it means you'll notice a lot.

 

Which means if you can see it, you can shoot it.  Generally.

 

I see you have a Frag Cannon - so you're looking at a multi-shot gun.  What did your BS start out at, Sobek?

Boros' entry in the Character Thread has been updated and now includes a link to his stat sheet, a complete description of his appearance, my purchase history and a custom art slate. CM, did you give my proposal for his chapter trapping some thought? Once that's settled, I should be good to go for Friday.

Hey Mol, quick question. 

 

I know it doesn't fit exactly, but would you consider letting Lycys take deathwing terminator as an advanced class (under a more Star Phantomy name and lore)?

I know he's not a DAngle, but it seems like an interesting idea (considering what we've talked about, and his "possible" DAngle heritage.)

Just been thinking where i can take him, since it appears Watch-Captain seems to be of interest to other people, and i'm not sure what else fits.

I don't think people need to worry too much about advanced specialisations just yet. I am more interested in character and narrative for the time being. It's taken my players three years to break into Level 3, so some of these decisions are a while into the future!

Have you posted him in the character thread yet? I'm also still not sure if my character sheet is properly done, but I'm sure that this will be excused for new people like ourselves. As long as the basics are there, you have a character with a back story, you have an idea where you want him to go the e the rest will just fall in place I'm sure

On my stat sheet, should i put my purchases and there effects onto the character sheets skills and talents bit. Also should i be putting any XP increases that they cause in the black numbers? or the thing like armour or movemnet?

Once you've decided your purchases and put them in the purchase history, you can absolutely put them onto the front page of your character sheet, and update your grey and black stats appropriately. Pay attention to any increases in Unnatural Strength and Toughness. 

 

That way it makes it easier for anyone who needs to look at your character sheet to understand things at a glance!
