Hello everyone! Long time no see. Sorry about the wait, it's been a combination of I've been busy and I just haven't been in the mood to paint... since January. Anyway, I've finally finished a squad of sisters of battle, not my best work but to be honest I've had them on my table so long I'm desperate to move on to something else. I really wanted to do a quartered design on the shields and I think it's turned out pretty good. I based the colour scheme on the order of the thorn, with some alterations. Really liked the bone coloured armour. Still think the halberds are so cool

large.566910719_IMG_20220810_2106191.jpg

And finally, last of the latest batch is a servitor ogryn. This is a fantastic kit and had given me major bioshock vibes. Looks very like a big daddy right? I used the same colour scheme I've been using for my inquisition retinue and I'd say it's come off pretty well. I'm thinking of calling them 704D-Zeta. Pretty catchy right?

large.2005906647_IMG_20220816_1830151.jp

I finished building some new models as well.

large.1278820791_IMG_20220827_1517351.jp

I do try to convert as much as I can so I've added a different head , the chest details and a few other bits and pieces. Any guesses which chapter they're from?

large.32322370_IMG_20220827_1516061.jpg.

You might be armoured to all hell but you still need a shield. Because it looks cool that's why. Few other additional details to this one but nothing too crazy. Despite simplicity though I'm really pleased with it. Go through your bits box, you'll find something cool you'd never have thought of

large.1735990876_IMG_20220827_1518011.jp

It should be fairly easy to tell which chapter this one is from, it's not the obvious answer but it's very close. Any guesses? Bunch of green stuffed scales added to them which is really cool, very keen on the flames on the back of them as well.

large.1285975437_IMG_20220827_1432241.jp

Not done a lot to this one other than give him a bigger hat. Any guesses on the chapter? If you look really close there's a small clue

large.1844276072_IMG_20220827_1517021.jp

Got a kind of gears of war vibe going with the chain bayonet. Other than that I've tried to sculpt some wings on the leg to tie it into the parent chapter but I don't think it's come out brilliantly. Might be better after painting.

I should be posting more often now but please do check out my Instagram! I have been posting better photos with more detail and even some videos with 360 degree views! https://www.instagram.com/onyx_warpainter/

WE ARE THE SHIELD THAT SLAYS! Welcome everyone to the debut of my new and improved watch master, primaris flavour. My old firstborn watchmaster has crossed the Rubicon Primaris and been reborn as a cooler model. I combined the body of an assault intercessor and completely carved up the watchmaster kit I was given for my birthday. After a lot of time, patience and green stuff it because the model you see before you. I had to carve off the entire front of the chest to make it fit! Please do tell me what you think and head over to my instagram for a 360 view!!! https://www.instagram.com/onyx_warpainter/

IT IS DONE!!! This dude, seriously this dude I have put so much work into. They may be the best model I've made. Though the leviathan dreadnought could give them a run for their money. It is Leonidas, watch master of Furor Shield! Formerly of the Minotaurs chapter and after he has crossed the Rubicon Primaris (see below a comparison with his pre primaris model). Lots of details here including several attempts at freehand on the cloak pad and tilt plate. Use of red and yellow to echo the old school minotaurs colour scheme. An attempt to recreate the energy blades of the new votann on the spear blade. I also painted the clavis in bone to represent the osseus key. Thanks to @hunting_heresy (instagram) for the name plate! If you love this model PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SAVE IT, SHARE IT AND LIKE IT!

large.315467438_686554602791769_33553149

I also finished up the heavy intercessor squad. I put almost as much effort into them as I did the watch master!

large.314019727_1957340021141895_1515524

Particularly pleased with this one! Just a few subtle conversions including a shield and some extra trim on the legs and it gives them a whole new look. This is the sergeant of my heavy intercessor squad. Scaraban of the Crimson Castellans. They were another one with very little written about them so I figured they'd be quite defensive and fortress themed.

large.314398332_3397774470455390_8724759

This guy is a prime example of how one extra part can completely change how a model looks. To be fair it's a very large and eye catching part but still. They are Numitor of the Heralds of Ultramar. As such I thought the big helmet crest from the sicarius model would be appropriate. Doesn't really fit the deathwatch stealthy style but really, how stealthy can a heavy intercessor be? Not my favourite of the squad but still pretty good

large.313572859_1189533405244373_6503180

I've begun using a wet palette and for these ones I did loads of extra highlight stages. I think it's worked out brilliantly this particular dude is my reimagining of Branatar from kill team Cassius as a primaris. As with the others though this version is from a different chapter. Say hello to Tuseok of the Covenant of Fire. I think I've kept most of the important details like the flames and the scales. Below is a comparison of him with Branatar so you can see the details I brought over from the original model

large.315431907_826167675265277_80737493

large.314379564_814960386223911_49719148

Heraclid of the Heralds of Vengeance. For this one I figured loads of skulls would work for their look. In addition I scraped off the chest details to add the deathwatch pouches and an inquisition symbol. The reiver head is just cool no matter which model it's on

large.313289687_436602281763463_56854081

Next of my heavy intercessors squad is Gerard of the Angel Guard. There is literally nothing known about this chapter beyond their colour scheme so I could decide what details they had for myself. I went with a few golden skulls, a reliquary and a (unbrilliant) attempt at green stuffing some wings on one of the greaves.

large.315516781_657640949297133_79601805

And finally a group shot of the squad. They seem like they'd work well together. Even if the rules don't give you enough reason to play them in a game. If you want to see more details of the models including 360 degree videos please check out my instagram! https://www.instagram.com/onyx_warpainter/

Back again with some new models! For my next project I'm doing something a little different and building some mechanicus. Mostly supplied by the Warhammer Imperium magazine. I imagine they'll essentially be the tech staff of the watch fortress so it still works out.

I... i don't really know what this one is haha. A magos i guess? Honestly i just threw this together out of scrap and spare parts. There's bits from 12 kits involved! It went "hmm, what if i did this? And then this, and then i add that" and this is the result! Very damn please with it though, whatever it is! It came about because the ambot kit gives you an entire spare set of legs for some reason and i figured the mechanicus would be the best way to use them. Couldn't think of a good way to incorporate them into the existing models so i created an entirely new one! The central torso piece is a contemptor foot! The blue bits are land speeder doors! Pure scrap but it looks like an actual model haha.

large.316156703_1115828929076461_7786474large.315951025_604741374675163_55080026large.315902159_877433516591734_56000209large.316692203_448932970757234_79698167large.316287478_1192268194969473_6202185large.315951025_604741374675163_55080026

I've also put together some skitarii. I know that they've either got the wrong heads or the wrong weapons but I doubt these guys will ever get a chance to play (certainly not competitively) so I've gone for rule of cool and the vanguard heads are the coolest as are the rifles.

large.316040907_1244123882809217_6154888

I'm so glad they made the engineseer plastic, it was always a great part of the imperial guard lineup and for a long time was the only mechanicus model we had. The plastic version is loads better. I do wish I could have thought of some way to convert it but it's too good as it is. I'll be able to paint it my way though so that'll be something

large.315942681_526574692702190_30300357

Next up for the mechanicus forces is a kataphron battle servitor. I only have the one of these as I don't plan on playing any games with them so one was just fun to have. I think I've made some slight conversions? It's hard to say as I only used the parts in the kit but I think the shooty version isn't supposed to have armour. How could I not add the armour though! I've also not added the little servo arms as I plan to use those for another conversion. The heavy gun arm I've not glued so I can swap the weapons out which you can see on the second image. I didn't realise how big these things were they need a 60mm base, that's dreadnought size! Sadly there aren't any of the sector mechanicus based available for them (ironic) as I save those for dreadnoughts. So I made one of the scratch built ones I do out of card and some sort of knitting frame. Works very well I'd say!

large.316437094_698663438113086_87007952large.316346522_605039478087536_24941882

I've actually converted this one a bit, they've got a kataphron head and a flamer arm plus a little servo arm as well. I wanted to replace the cane but I couldn't find anything that worked well. Pretty cool kit though, given me a few extra parts to use for conversions. Again I've made a spaceship style base for them as there isn't a 50mm sector me mechanicus equivalent

large.315957788_692859212184361_15870827

I'm looking forward to painting these, any ideas on which forge world they'll be from? The mechanicus have always been really interesting to me, the bionic and robotic elements have so many crazy possibilities! Please follow my instagram for more details and videos! https://www.instagram.com/onyx_warpainter/

  • 5 months later...

I'm back! Sorry it's been a while, i kept meaning to update this. Anyways, lets get to some new models. All the mechanicus stuff is now finished! If you want to keep more up to date follow my instagram https://www.instagram.com/onyx_warpainter

I wanted to do a different colour scheme to the usual red so I had a look at other forge worlds and it turns out Ryza is the closest to Furor Shield where my deathwatch are based. So I went with this cool orange style. What do you think? I'm really happy with the way the white trim came out on the cloaks. It's the little details that make a models.

First is my completely kitbashed Magos Reductor Quintus. Lord of the Ryza delegation to Furor Shield. I am so pleased with how this has turned out. It started with some ambot legs and me wondering, how can I use these for my mechanicus. Then I just started attaching bits to each other and here we are! After looking into the different types of tech-priest I figured this guy had to be one of the ones whose only concern was war. They've upgraded pretty much their entire body to be a machine of destruction. And what a machine it is! No less than 12 different kits contributed to this beast. Can you guess all the parts?

large.4.PNG.ffa8039bc84e47335dbc4ad6a9bb

Next of my mechanicus detachment is Magos Dominus Hadrianus. When they aren't fixing tanks and crafting bolters they're killing xenos alongside the deathwatch of Furor Shield. My watch fortress needs a lot of technical staff and so they have a full time delegation from nearby Forge World Ryza. Hadrianus is one of the senior magi in the fortress. Not a big conversion bit I head swapped for a kataphron head and added a flamer arm with a servo claw. Definitely not game legal but I'm unlikely to actually bring it to a table so it just has to look cool

large.2.PNG.2645f951fd926f5058ddd523a764

This is Engineseer Lucius, a junior member of the Furor Shield tech staff. I didn't do any conversions here as the basic model is already very cool. I'm so glad they made these in plastic. I put a lot of white trim on their robes and it looks very distinctive, pretty pleased with how it turned out. I wonder if I'll ever actually use this guy in a game. Maybe a casual one with a friend where we can use whatever we like. I only bought them because the dark Imperium magazine made it really cheap to do so.

large.3.PNG.a9e6061d5d8afbcc8c306dfe311f

A kataphron servitor. For those times when you just need something destroyed. No conversion, I've just left some parts out so I can use them for other things. There's so many cables! It looks a bit multicoloured from certain angles. I've done a bit of object source lighting on the plasma cannon, nothing too crazy just a bit of overspill on the light so it looks like it's glowing.

large.5.PNG.0fe510529bceb3df9010ba63962f

Finally we have  the skitarii squad. The only conversion I did here was a simple head swap (or weapon swap depending on how you look at it) so that they had ranger rifles but also vanguard heads. Rule of cool!

large.Capture.PNG.04b76df963347e83edfae7

Next is another batch built! This time it's bikers, vroom vroom! I've got 5 outriders as you can make a Fortis kill team with 5 attached, at the moment the only faction that can have 5 is deathwatch!

large_13.PNG.4b752a745bc780f56533dc962c2

Feel the righteous fury at speed! As you can only buy outriders in groups of 3 I thought I'd make one into a biker chaplain! All in all I'd say it's come out pretty well don't you think? The helmet is (like most people's chaplain conversions) just a slightly modified Riever helmet. However! I've green stuffed a skeletal ribcage for the torso which looks awesome and I added an iron halo to the helmet. The crozius is from chaplain Cassius with the U filled in. They are Sadran of the Liberators. Lots of details on this one. I added several deathwatch sigils, a backpack eagle, some relics and the book from chaplain Cassius. I could probably have added more details to the legs as they seem a bit bare but oh well, it's still a great model. Other than the crozius none of the pieces are from any chaplain kit. I think it's a pretty sweet conversion! I haven't done quite as much ornamentation as most chaplains but that's mostly because I didn't feel like I could sculpt those details. Still looking pretty great though I'd say.

large_11.PNG.9ceb31393178aa9c5f1ba7deae7large_21.PNG.a35cc00dbe57793afaedc65d88c

First up is an outrider wielding a chainaxe, with a Judiciar head and big stabby blades on the front of the bike. Looking very cool I'd say. Also a great time to use all the deathwatch vehicle icons I never used! You might have noticed the spikes on the shoulder pad and the deathwatch details including a backpack targeter, wrist scanner, elbow pad, shoulder pad and torso pouches. I really like putting the effort in to make sure they feel like deathwatch. Yason of the Blood Dragons, hence the scales on the side and the bloody chainaxe. I also felt like using the Judiciar head as it was just lying about, I think it fits pretty well with the whole motif. This is probably my favourite outrider of the squad. The chainaxe held aloft, bloodied as he glares at everything through his skull helmet driving his bayoneted bike through xenos. There's a bunch of other little details as well like the ork skull on the back and the scales on the side.

large.6.PNG.6962c0f1d8be487571500f4c81f5large_16.PNG.431341dba58403f77d9286e53cb

This dude is popping a wheelie. I didn't want them all to be the same driving forward pose. This one was the most difficult to do though, it involved pinning the back wheel to the base. Other details include a suppressor headswap which I think is a great look for a biker.  I'm glad they do these urban bases so I had something better than the plain ones to put these guys on. In addition to the deathwatch details you can see a book and a candelabra. This is Eriba of the Tome Keepers. Hence the rather large book on their dash. In addition there's the usual deathwatch details, backpack scanner, shoulder pad, wrist cuff and elbow pad.

large.7.PNG.e1274198551f5383bd4cd8d27f90large_17.PNG.368e73dbf9964e3288189f3326a

My primaris version of Suberei from kill team Cassius. I was recently gifted another set of the kill team (more on that later) so I'll be able to use some parts in the remaining primarisising of the kill team. For this one I took the sword, shield, dagger and the tail thing on the back of the bike. I'd say it's a fairly good recreation. I'm liking the jinking the bike is doing so it looks like they're swerving around something. As usual plenty of deathwatch bits. They are Mönke of the Sons of Jaghatai. I'm really glad I gave them a swerving pose it really makes them look more dynamic. How does everyone feel about the outriders? Do you use them in games often or do they not really serve a purpose? I reckon as you can get a combat squad of 5 from a Fortis kill them deathwatch can get more use out of them.

large.8.PNG.0d2bc0057c4b7a394655e34688d5large_20.PNG.3eebc039ac95dc141ef02b4cdee

The 4th outrider is racing into today's post. You can see that I've not changed much about the basic model, just posed them to the side and swapped the head out. The biggest change you can see is the big ravenwing fairing on the back.  I do wonder why they've not brought out a multipart kit for them yet, it's a bit strange. The design of the outriders is sooo much better than the old bikes. They've got a chunkyness but still aren't blocky which is great. When building the outriders I just knew I had to have a dark angels successor so I could add a ravenwing fairing. This is Astoric of the Penitent Blades. In addition to the fairing I've leaned into the knightly aesthetic and given them a bladeguard helmet and a tilt plate that conveniently had a sword on it. I keep forgetting how big these guys are! The primaris scale up was definitely a great thing for games workshop to do

large_10.PNG.fc92a26f316b1c5654d4266dcb3large_19.PNG.1569488732a4edf815cac375688

Gotta admit I was a little lazy with this last one, just a headswap and a gun swap to make them more deathwatchy along with the usual scanner, targeter, shoulder pad etc. This is Cyvon of the reborn Soul Drinkers which are apparently a fully canonical reinstated primaris chapter. I helpfully had a blood angels winged chalice I could stick on the bike and the other details are sculpted. Think it looks pretty good!

large_12.PNG.37d31747ea3b7f3d37781f20056large_14.PNG.8646495a368a7b3e67ae472f049

GET HIM MR BUBBLES! I'm back in a big way today bringing you a heavily converted contemptor dreadnought based on the big daddy from bioshock. Using a spotlight I've created the porthole diver helmet, an ork drill on one hand and an ironclad chainfist on the other. There's various other details including tanks, support struts and other dieselpunk style things. Also it's COMPLETELY magnetised! Every load out is possible and I can use the weapons on my other contemptor.  I got the extra bits on the sides of the legs from a centurions exo skeleton and the vents from the new void war bases. The front tanks are the flamer canisters that are supposed to go on the arms and the back one is from the necromunda walls kit. I think it really evokes the bioshock vibe whilst still fitting in perfectly with the Warhammer world.

large_15.PNG.553188617aa17a2cb16b2b8c0fb

Say hello to Alaric of the Dark Sons. Some details I haven't mentioned are the shield on one of the knees I made some random heraldry for and the vents on the sides of the legs. I also added a lot of blood in the weapons as they've been wading into the thick of it. Tried some object source lighting from the dome but I don't think it's come off very well. I should have done the cables something other than yellow.

oh lovely conversions, I love the effort being put into making the models look like they actually belong in the deathwatch! I also very much enjoy the big daddy dread :D

  • 8 months later...

Sorry everybody! Once again I've neglected to post here, I've been more active on my instagram where i now go by Inquisitor Trinity https://www.instagram.com/inquisitor_trinity. After a few months, I'm back! I never really went away but it's been quite a while since I've posted. I was saving a big post for you! After starting them in April my Inquisition Storm Trooper company is finally ready to spray paint. All 70 of them! I did have a provisional name for them as the endless but I've gone off that name. Unsure what to call them.

As you can see there is somewhat of a diverse range of models, however, I've added little details to each so that there is something to link them all together. I've tried to make it look like they've gotten their arms and armour from the same armoury.

large.Capture1.PNG.16855959768d91590b7f9

large.Capture2.PNG.a2d18d8e026616d9c24c7

These are my counts as crusaders from my Inquisition stormtroopers. As several others have done I've used the subjugators and their massive shields as the base but I've also added what a lot of other people have used which is skitarii heads. Not seen the two together so far. I've also used deathwatch power swords, kasrkin shoulders and sculpted a lot of details. The subjugators are quite a popular choice for plastic crusader conversions, as are the skitarii heads. I don't think anyone has altered them to this level though. I wanted a more militaristic and techy feel to them instead of the religious overtones in the original Inquisition crusaders. I think they're looking pretty awesome!

large.Capture3.PNG.a185a3d9b7de7885ff8cf

I hadn't initially planned to include arbites in my Inquisition stormtrooper company but after seeing them I just had to have them. That happened a lot

I have made a lot of effort to bring their look closer to the other models, particularly the kasrkin who are the base template if you will. This includes:
- sculpted kasrkin style tunic and armour plates
- kasrkin gas mask
- kasrkin helmet light
- sculpted navy breachers helmet crest

I've also removed any arbites iconography as they aren't arbites in my lore, just differently armed storm troopers which I've decided to call, seekers. Hopefully the green stuff doesn't look too bad! The arbites are probably the squad I made the most alterations to. As you can probably tell. Unfortunately I won't be able to use them in game because the minimum squad size is 10 and you can't mix shields and shotguns. Even in the exaction squad which is really annoying. At least they look cool, that's the important thing.

Capture4.PNG

Unfortunately these assault Kasrkin will probably never see the game board as there is nothing that I could approximate them to. Not only is there no astra militarum assault unit there isn't a jump unit either. The closest approximation would be the sororitas jump infantry I guess? Still a fun unit to make though. It combines cadian chainswords and las pistols with kasrkin and orlock jet packs. I've made the usual green stuff alterations as well. For a relatively simple kitbash I'm very pleased with these jet troopers. All it took was to add some orlock wrecker jet packs to kasrkin and grab some chainswords and las pistols from the cadian sprues. I did consider doing hot shot laspistols but I thought they'd be too unwieldy.

Capture5.PNG#

The navy breachers are another squad that wasn't planned initially for my stormtrooper company but I couldn't resist! In order to bring them in closer to the rest of the company I added kasrkin style armour plates. I always thought they looked a bit underarmoured and I think I've rectified that quite well. I've also added arbites elbow pads, arbites shotguns, chest targeter and a kasrkin helmet light. You can also see ive removed all the navy iconography and added an Inquisition symbol. Enjoy! I always thought they were under armoured given that they're supposed to be wearing vacuum sealed suits, so I gave them some extra armour using press moulds from the kasrkin.

Capture6.PNG

I've always been very keen on the kasrkin style, even back when it was a choice between the metal ones and the regular stormtroopers I'd choose kasrkin. Once I saw they were coming out in plastic I had to get some. I'm justifying the deviation from deathwatch as they're Inquisition stormtroopers not technically another faction aha.

They're the base template for the company at large. I've added the navy breachers helmet crest and arbites elbow pads and chest targeter in addition to the Inquisition symbol. I've also tried to mix up the poses as there's a lot of them I wasn't that keen on. You might be able to tell that they've all got some form of close combat weapon as well!

large.Capture7.PNG.ba8f7b9dc32e528ffc2a2

This is the other stormtrooper kasrkin squad. Much the same as the other one just with different poses. I've armed them more or less the same as both squads have two volleyguns, a melta, plasma and sniper. Each squad also has a vox and a medic for flair. I'm very keen on the bayonets that's for sure

large.Capture8.PNG.d622b4b3ab55111a9cd4e

This is by far the squad I'm most proud of they're a combination of cawdor ridge walkers, kasrkin for the pilots and rough rider lances. I had to really carve up the legs and green stuff them so they'd fit which was a pain but had come off pretty well! (Looks pretty natural after I've spray painted them at least)

You can see I've also green stuffed some other details including:
- arbites elbow pads and chest targeter
- navy breachers helmet crest
- Inquisition symbol on chest

These are details I've tried to include across all my storm troopers to tie them together. I think weirdly the bases I made for them are one of my favourite bits. As there's not any sculpted oval based for this scale I made some industrial ones using necromunda bits and the void war bases parts. I've been sure to include all the weapon options for rough riders. They've got the lance, holstered pistol and you can see a lasgun on the front of the walker so they've got access to all the weapons. Reposing the walkers so they didn't all look the same whilst standardising them so that they all look like the same vehicle was a tricky balance. Most of the poses look good but a few are a bit iffy. What do you think of my Inquisition stormtroopers cavalry?

I've been working on the organisation of my Inquisition army. Inquisitor Trinity has a much larger retinue than most, the size of a small army or astra militarum platoon. This is very apt as they are far more militaristic than most Inquisitors, even of the ordo xenos, and believe in applying ever whelming force. Some of the roles here are obvious and some are troops that I am converting and are essentially Inquisition stormtroopers. I will be building ALL of them at some point and some are already built (look back over my posts) any guesses what's what?

They look good to me. I like the little details you've added, and the robo-cavalry are neat.

I'm afraid I can't think of an analogue for your jump assault unit. Maybe someone more knowledgeable with the Guard will be able to help you?

Thanks! They were a real slog but worth it I think. I kinda want to do a full 10 squads so i'm trying to think of other 10man units i could do a counts as conversion that would work. Something human sized with reasonably heavy armour and on the imperial side. I suppose I could get a second arbites squad so I can actually field a 10 man shields/mauls and a 10 man shotgun squad. Though ideally I'd like to do more with the kasrkin as a base so it looks like the crusaders, breachers and arbites are unique specialist squads.

Finally got round to posting about my inquisition stormtroopers. Matching my colour scheme for the other inquisition elements I've gone with red armour, orange elbow and knee pads, purple shoulders, gold head crest and details, blue cables, green eye lenses and yellow lights. The symbol of Inquisitor Trinity is (somewhat crudely) represented on the right shoulder and the squad designation on the left. After trying for ages to find a decent numeral system that looks cool I settled on the star wars aurebesh. Still haven't come up with a cool name for the "regiment" I thought something like "The Endless" or "The Immortals" but neither sounds right. I want something that evokes relentless implacable destruction but is one word so it'd be The something.

This is squad D, troop type vindicator.

This here is my navy breacher squad that's part of my inquisition storm trooper company. As you can see I gave them extra armour as I wanted them to look similar to my kaskrin. In retrospect I kinda wish I'd swapped the shoulders out for kaskrin shoulder pads as the breacher ones are a bit small for the squad and company markings

Up next for my inquisitorial stormtrooper company is an assault squad! Sadly I won't be able to use them in games as there isn't a unit that's even slightly similar. So they're purely for the fun of it. I think they look really cool! I used orlock wrecker jet packs and various cadian chainswords and pistols. Like my other stormtroopers they have the helmet crest, elbow pads and chest targeter. Iconography is the squad designiation and company insignia (of inquisitor trinity)

Thanks! I like to make sure that each deathwatch marine has individuality, a name, a chapter that's unique in the army and themed after that chapter. For the stormtroopers I wanted the opposite effect, to make them as faceless and identical as possible, including all the details that are common to them all.

++ SURRENDER TO THE INQUISITION ++
I finally got around to putting together the Inquisitor I've had as an idea in my head for over a year! Inquisitor Trinity is my account name for that reason. Surprise though, Trinity (as the name suggests) is three individuals! Or is Trinity one amongst them? Or not there at all and controlling them from afar... Who knows! I'm really pleased with how they came together. My idea was for them to be alike with many common features but also different. I wanted to put my utmost effort into them and make them the absolute best models that I have ever done. Utilising techniques that I've never tried, painstaking incremental blending, better glow effects, detailed free handing and more. I'd say the end results are quite fantastic! Each looks like they're wearing a suit of power armour and are as similar as I could make them whilst still being noticeably different. Matching the colour scheme of my inquisition force (of which they are the head) helps tie them into the army and each other. The capes are some of the best parts of the models, the large area allowed me to blend much easier and I could add the Inquisitor Trinity symbol! Sadly not completely as it's too small for the full detail but it's very close.

First up is this Inquisitor Trinity that I will refer to as "sigil". The base model is Jelsen darrock from the cursed city set. I've cut off all the stakes and other gubbins leaving the base model. Added a bunch of power armour, the mask, staff and constructed some backpack guns they operate remotely, keeping their hands free. It's hard to pick favourites but I think this one needed the most work to convert. Creating the sabatons (foot armour) of the "sigil" Trinity was one of the more challenging aspects of creating a more power armour vibe, it should look right painted. The staff I created from a sisters of battle halberd and added a stripped down deathwatch vehicle icon. The backpack guns were created from the little servo arms on the kataphron breachers with bits from the kaskrin hellguns.

Next we're taking a look at the "hammer" version of Inquisitor Trinity. Based on the Hanniver Toll model it's got a very dynamic pose. Through green stuff I was able to turn the boots into power armour and I used the hammer head from Jelsen Darrock. It was very annoying getting the sword off of the cape but the whole effect is pretty great I think! Certainly the most dynamic of the three. I hadn't fully fleshed out this idea before I started building this one so I got the base model (Hanniver Toll) and experimented with some parts. Made them look all 40k style and crafted the hammer out of various parts. I think the end result is pretty good don't you?

The third Inquisitor Trinity wields a spear alongside the backpack guns. Though I don't have a favourite of the three this version is the first one this came to me and the inability to choose between this version and the "sigil" version helpful spawn the Trinity idea. In addition to chiseling off all the fantasy details from the Hexbane base model I added a spear using several celestian sacresant parts and used green stuff to make the armour more power armour.

You'll have to let me know which Inquisitor Trinity is your favourite based on the conversions and paintjobs! Also, if Trinity is one amongst them, which do you think they are? Or do you think Trinity controls them from afar? Or are they somehow all of them?
