Perhaps a Str increase to take you up over base 40 (and therefore push your Bonus up to 10). It's only 500 as it would be your first Advance?

How about Hard Target or Sure Strike from the RG list, either sneaky or precise, both quite fitting?

Thanks for the suggestions, gents. I think my biggest issue has been trying to determine what I want to do with Vesalius as a character. He's not going to be the strongest meleeist, nor the most powerful ranged character (barring the requisition of a pocket meltagun for the luls). Based on his stats and skillset, he is definitely well suited to a secondary/support role with the capability for behind-enemy-lines style insertions.

I appreciate the input!

Vesalius' XP spend:

Trade (Chymistry) - 600

Tactics (recon & stealth) - 300

Strength 1 - 500

Sure Strike - 500

Logic +0 - 400

Total: 2300 xp

Upon rereading how medicae works, the +10 advancement will actually be of value, particularly on knowledge-based medicae tests, even if that pushes his +0 First Aid test target number north of 100. But that can wait for another day.

Edit: and I made a minor change to my XP spend, dropping chem-use and interrogation +10 for Trade (Chymistry) +0, as thus far I have RP-ed Vesalius manufacturing chemicals with no commensurate skill to actually back it up. Sorry, Lys!

I re-worked Draak's XP spend.

Draak spent 2300 XP on the following:

Command - 300 XP.

Mighty Shot - 500 XP.

Signature Wargear - 500 XP.

Signature Wargear (Master) - 1000 XP. For a Backpack of Kraken Rounds - 30 Req Pts.

Signature Wargear (Master) - 1000 XP. For a Backpack of Kraken Rounds - 30 Req Pts.

I like your thinking MG, but unfortunately, you can't Sig Wargear Spec Ammo or consumables like grenades.

If I may suggest, however, being an ex-Devastator doing the same thing as yourself and BC, I'd look at taking a Craftsmanship upgrade, or perhaps Sig Wargear a Suspensor.

@MR - But the Wargear is the Backpack full of SIA. Its 'One Item.'

my signature wargear is a melee weapon, so I have more options.  shockingly a heavy bolter isn't ideal for every situation.

and Decimus may end up as a chaplain (he has a lot of hate to work through) so he needs some melee experience.

Yup, I'm with Mazer on that one, I'm afraid, SIA can't be Sig Wargear'd.

If you want the backpack itself as '1 item' you can SWG that... but it comes empty and you already have one full with regular ammo as standard Dev equipment... :D

@Lysimachus - thank you. I'll have a bit more of a think then.

Just double-checking here, @MG, as I may have missed it - what is the Rank 1 Sig Wargear for? Is it Grendel?

@MR - No, if you look at Lysimachus' post above. Devastators get a HB and Backpack of ammo for free.

No, the Rank 1 Sig Wargear is the prerequisite for the Rank 2 Sig Wargear.

I had a think.

Draak spent his 2300 XP thus:

FEL +5 - 500 XP.

Command - 300 XP.

Mighty Shot - 500 XP.

Signature Wargear (Motion Predictor) - 500 XP.

Signature Wargear (Suppression Stabiliser) - 500 XP.

You show great promise, young one.  We are polite enough however not to say "...committing High Treason."

We much prefer '...of being misinformed.'
